People are strange, no matter where you go

in all my travels it appears to never fail once

for everyone has that tale of sadness and woe

as we’re all the same, every genius and dunce.

It matters not if you are of wealth or a pauper,

love will find you, make us all beg for mercy.

There’s no equal in money, gold or copper

as we all want love, with its anger and glee.

You will buy gifts, make yourself look a fool

when that unique individual enters your life.

Control begins to unravel as you hum and drool

when you spot someone worthy to be your wife.

It’s like being struck by a majestic bolt of lightning

when you realize this is real, not an affair nor a fling.
