The banshee is a small, ghost-like creature that haunts anybody who is unfortunate enough to cross its path. When the banshee attacks, it lets out its signature shrieks. Only the victim and those who care about them can hear the screams.
Notably, the wails of the banshee have a physiological fear response in any who here it. This can result in the unfortunate situation where friends or family know that somebody they love is being attacked by a banshee, yet they find themselves paralyzed and unable to do anything out of fright.
