"Now then, shall we begin?"
Those words chilled the approaching thugs to the bones. Immense fear traveled through their entire body as they watched in terror as Arthur approached them with a malicious smile.
"Why are you idiots shaking?! Just kill the man!" Shouted the boss furiously. "I-I'm not sure why I'm trembling, but I know one thing! He-he's a monster!" Shouted one of the thugs pointing to Arthur and trembling in his shoes.
"What do you mean he's a monster? He's just a man with a cocky attitude! Just go kill him!" Scoffs the boss as he draws his pistol. "You have made your choice then." Chuckles Arthur as a ring of fire forms above his head. "You're about to be killed by the demon lord!"
"Hahahaha! That's hilarious!" Shouts the boss of the thugs. 'Can they not see the ring of fire I formed?' A confused Arthur thinks to himself. "Seriously, this guy is an idiot! Calling himself a demon lord! Hahahaha!" Laughs a thug carrying a hatchet.
Arthur gazes around at the approaching thugs, meticulously gathering details to get the upper hand. 'Nine people surrounding me. Four on my right, four on my left, and one in front of me with an axe. How should I handle this?...'
"I'll take care of this idiot! Everyone else just wait!" Commands the thug with the hatchet. He dashes forwards and swings his axe vertically towards Arthur's head. Arthur jumps back as the axe slams into the earth beneath his feet.
"You're pretty quick on your feet! But not fast enough!" Shouts the thug as he pulls a second axe from behind his back. He swings the axe horizontally towards Arthur's side. Arthur stands still and let's the hatchet slam into his side and shatter against him.

"Huh?! What just happened?! Why aren't you wounded?!" Asks the thug as he stumbles back away from Arthur. "Like I said, I'm the demon lord! I can't be killed by a simple axe!" Shouts Arthur while clenching his fist proudly. Fear etched itself into the face of the thug. A lone tear rolls down his cheek. Arthur extends his palm towards the thug's head.
{Sleep}
"Ahh! What the hell happened to him?! He-he just collapsed suddenly!" Screams the boss of the thugs as he frantically loads his handgun. "He's not dead yet! But he will be!" States Arthur while smiling sinisterly.
"Demon, he's a demon! We need to attack together!" Shouts a thug directly to Arthur's left. 'None of these people have mana in them. I shouldn't need to worry about getting hurt.' Arthur thinks to himself while dodging a flurry of swings from knives and baseball bats.

{Body Enhancement: Strength}
*Wham*
*Bang*
*Slam*
*Smack*
Arthur lands four excruciating blows into the stomachs of four thugs, completely incapacitating them. "What the hell?! In a split second four of us got beaten up! Just what is this guy?!" Shrieks one of the muscular thugs guarding the boss.
*Shing*
Arthur dodges another flurry of attacks as the thugs desperately try to kill him. He grabs hold of the neck of a thug and smashes his throat using his grip strength. 'I need to use the bathroom.' Arthur casually thinks to himself while crossing his legs.
"I'm getting out of here!" Wails a thug as he runs away in a panicked state.
{Wind Magic: Wind Blade}
"Shit~~!" Yelps the thug as he sees the crescent of wind enclosing on his location. "Ke!' Gasps the thug as he gets split in half.

The two remaining thugs huddle on the ground out of fear for their lives. Arthur notices the smell of fresh urine as he looks down and notices their soiled pants. 'Cowards!' He thinks to himself. Arthur grabs the two remaining thugs by the neck and lifts them off the ground. The thugs begin choking and gasping for air as a wave of tears stream down each of their cheeks.
{Hand of Gluttony}
The boss and his guards watch out of horror as the two thugs age rapidly and turn to skeletons. "W-what the hell did we anger?!" Gasps one of the guards as a stream of urine drizzles down his pant leg.
"Are you pissing yourself?! Are you really scared of that cocky bastard?!" Screams the boss as his pupils tremble. "Kill that motherf***er right now!"
The two guards charge towards Arthur and swing their jians towards him. Arthur thrusts his fist into the guard on the right, launching him back into the boss's car. "Huh?!" Yelps the boss out of pure terror as he collapses onto his knees. Arthur then redirects his focus onto the remaining guard.
*Smash*
Arthur's hand pierces the center of the guards chest. His hand is ripped out of the chest as the guard collapses on the ground.
"Huh, Uh?! Please spare me, I can give you anything?!" Pleads the boss while he desperately cries out for mercy. "Haha, die!" Chuckles the boss as he aims his handgun towards Arthur's head.
*Bang*
*Bang*
*Bang*
The boss fires three shots towards Arthur. Every bullet smashes into a seemingly invisible wall and flattens against the surface. "Ahh!" Screams the boss as Arthur reaches out to him.
{Sleep}
The boss slams his face on the ground as he falls fast asleep. Haruto awakens to see the destruction caused by Arthur. He can see pools of blood and guts strewn about all over the ground. "What the hell happened here?!" Asks Haruto as he trembles from terror. "I repaid my debt to you." Reassures Arthur with a friendly smile.
Arthur begins to suck the life out of all the dead thugs using 'Hand of Gluttony.' "What the hell! You're getting younger!" Shouts Harto as he watches Arthur's body rejuvenate itself. 'At first I thought he was around my age! But now he looks like he's sixteen!' Arthur chuckles at Haruto's statement.
Arthur completely finishes sucking the life out of the remaining thugs. "So what do we do about him?" Asks Haruto while pointing to the thug boss. "I'll take care of him." States Arthur while slapping the boss across the face. "Wake up!"
The boss opens his eyes and begins to tremble when he sees Arthur looking down on him. "You're going to answer my questions. If you don't, you'll die!"

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
