《Time Travel System》3. Series of shot

I saw many firearms aimed at me, probably because of the adrenaline from the previous battle I immediately set up layers of protection in front of me.
* Crack * * Crack *
They were easily destroying my first layer of air shield, and so are the subsequent layers, within a few seconds almost half of the protection I made has been lost.
"They really want to kill me swiftly."
[Whoa, really? Are your middle name Sherlock by the way]
"Shut your sarcasm down system. I'm just monologuing"
[¯\_(ツ)_/¯]
More and more of my shield shattered as time pass, I know that I must keep my composure and start thinking for my way of survival, but when seeing enemies movement, I can't help being uneasy. They already block all possible road to run away, and there even some team ready with their sword in their hands.
[I wonder if I choose the wrong host?]
"What do you mean?"
[You are quickly surprised by little things like this, it's not a good quality to survive]
"Oh, I'm sorry, I should not be surprised when little things like people from the future want to kill me, I'm sure a good man will do better in the face of death, that's my bad, good advice system. Your ass"
[t( -_- t )]
I keep making new shields while arguing with the system. I notice that my shield shattered faster than I can make it.
Okay, I know situations are quite dangerous right now, I have rather severe wounds, and one of my hands is cut off. I need to hide from these soldiers temporarily and arrange my thoughts.
I don't know why, although I'm a little panicky I can still think the right priorities to be done.
'But the real question is how to distract them'
I do not have smoke bombs or flashbang at my house, and I doubt that can be useful against them.
"Calm down, Nathan, don't think like an ordinary person, think like a time-controller. What kind of power can you use to confuse them?"
I was thinking about using my abilities as a time-controller. Maybe Time Aura somehow can be useful, but I don't have a chance to try how it works right now, so I need to focus on skills that I already proficient.

*BANG* *BANG*
Gunfire noises reverberating in the darkness of night, just illuminated by the moon, many of the firearms fired by my platoon to kill Nathan the Tyrant.
Plain to see their hateful faces want to eliminate the target. Well, it's natural considering that everybody here has a deep grudge toward Nathan. The slaughter of the universe where we live, the death of our loved one or the loss of all the reputation and wealth that we have built in our lifetime, all of the cruelties many tyrants, you name it, won't even near Nathan cruelties.
Everyone here has something in common, our hatred for Nathan and the time element that prevents us from losing our memory in any alterations of the timeline.
One quick fact, the people killed by Nathan will be lost forever from the timeline, they can not be saved, and no one can remember them with a few exceptions, us. We cannot forget all Nathan atrocities, although he rewinds the time, again and again, we still remember it.
Every shout of our family, every cry of our babies, every sacrifice from our subordinates, all of that won't be forgotten as if it just happened yesterday. It all happens because of Nathan's avarice that wants to conquer the whole multiverse.
From all the existing multiverse, even owners of time element with common talent are something rare, imagine the scarcity of time element owners with Mythic talent from the start.
In the history of the entire multiverse, it is common knowledge for us that only two people have Mythic talents in the element of time since the beginning, Nathan and Travis.
Unlike Nathan, Travis doesn't use his power as he pleases. He gathers time elements users from all the multiverse whose lives were ruined by Nathan and formed a revolutionary army against his tyranny.
But even Travis along with his elite troops lost and died when he wanted to kill Nathan. They are not so stupid to directly attack Nathan. They use many tactics, such as killing Nathan's past, taking Nathan's loved ones, and other tricks. However, Nathan's ability makes all tactics and strategies futile.
The people who are here now, are the remaining troops of the revolutionary army. Not considered by Nathan as a direct threat and not worth his time.
And that's true. We can not hurt Nathan in any form. Even if we killed the past Nathan it would change nothing, Nathan would still live with his protective abilities.
It made us sink deeper into despair. We had no place called home and had to hide from Nathan's men, moving from one universe to another regularly.
One day, as we migrated into another universe, we met Senwyn. Travis's right hand when he led the revolutionary troops, she escaped from Nathan and his men ambush at the last moment, but even as strong as she is, she still got critical injuries in the process.
She continues to hide and travel to another time and place regularly. Until one day she discovered that there was a completely separate and newly created timeline of a parallel multiverse. Where the future is still not fixed, and we still can eliminating Nathan from that timeline forever.
Senwyn chooses to give up her wars against Nathan on our timeline and gather the leftover revolutionary army to go to this newly created multiverse and kill Nathan before he becomes a tyrant. Even though we can't change our multiverse destiny, we hope there is at least a multiverse where Nathan doesn't exist.
But travelling to this multiverse will take a considerably long time, the stronger the person, the longer the time it needs to arrive in this multiverse.
So we planned to hide first and wait until all armies appeared before attack Nathan, but Jack, the one who crossed first could not resist his hatred and attacked Nathan, alone.
I became increasingly angry at Jack, he underestimated Nathan and die just like that, making us lose the element of surprise and everyone not yet crossed into this multiverse, making army strength not maximized.
But what happens is irrevocable, I as a leader must be dynamic when facing uncertainty, altering the initial plan and ordering my men to ambush Nathan even though not everyone has crossed.
"Team B and D, shoot in turns, do not stop, remember our target has a talent Mythic at his time element"

I am yelling giving reminders to my platoon. Although I don't think it's necessary to remind them, I still need them to be organized.
Seeing the speed of the protective shatter faster than Nathan creating them, I believe it is nearing the end, but I still prepare some of my men to get ready with their swords to attack from close range if something went wrong, despite he still weak now, he remains Nathan, the Tyrant.
"What the f*ck is Nathan do this time"
I hear my subordinate cursing beside me, he is a person with better perception than me, I know from his tone that something very wrong is happening.
*blup* *blup*
From the ground, some water comes out, initially only a little but then more and more out from the ground. After a while, the water drops stopped moving, even though they were small in size, but they were enough to make our view obscure.
"This is Impossible, no record says Nathan has the ability to control water when his power awaken"
"This is not a water control ability, there is no water element in it"
"Then what?"
"I don't know too"
Remarks from my men are accurate, he should not have water element or anything to do with it right now, and there is no sign of the water element here. But one thing is for sure he has a time element.
"He rewinds the weather to a few days earlier when it's raining, do not stop your shots he wants to distract us", I yelled at them again, reminding them not to stop firing.
This is the highest possibility of what he is doing now, there is no time to prove my assumption. Besides, how he does this is not important, what matters is why he does this, and it's my responsibility to read this fast and right.
I concentrated my sights on Nathan, trying to figure out what he was up to. From the severeness of his wound he can't run away quickly, but even if he is not injured, there are still defense parameters of my men, surrounding this place tightly.
Nathan still looks busy trying to make his protector. Regardless of this situation, this is our victory by the book, but what is this bad feeling?
A few seconds later something unforeseen happened, If he fights back and revealing power outside all our expectation I can still accept, but now, without any sign Nathan disappearing in front all of us, poof, and just like that he vanished.
No suspicious movement of any kind, if I do not know more, I would think Nathan succeeded time traveling to other times, but there is no time distortion I can recognize.
"Team C, do the plan 3B"
I immediately took a quick decision and told some close-range fighters to get close and ready to kill Nathan. Nathan had been severely wounded and his energy had been much wasted from making that shield. Close range is our best bet right now.
But soon after I give them my command, besides Nathan's house, many cars reshaping from nothingness, then all of them swiftly departs on its own, wanting to run away from us.
It was natural that Nathan wanted to run away from us and restore his energy, but cars was a bad plan to run away because it's easy to track and find. Did Nathan make a mistake? Maybe, if he thinks he doesn't have another choice. But if it isn't a mistake then that means the car is just a bait and he plans to escapes elsewhere.
"Team C let those cars leave, leave it to the defense parameters to destroy it. All of you, search anything odd nearby Nathan's house"
Quick decisions are necessary, and I immediately instructed to destroy cars to the defense units.
'Where? Where?'
My eyes move fast, scanning all areas. A few moments later I realized that many holes had not existed previously in the ambush area.
It's a rather good plan, I'm not sure how he made the hole, but with this many holes and previous diversion. I can't be sure which hole he's entering, we have to divide the troops, but that will reduce the stress he experiences.
"Leader, all cars already destroyed. It is really a decoy"
Reports from my men came quickly.
"Defense unit, stay there and standby. Kill anything passes there"
"One hole will be entered by two people, a long-range fighter and a close-range fighter in pairs, report every half minute. If there is no report after half a minute I will decide you still facing Nathan and will send reinforcement. Do you copy?"
"YES SIR"
The sound of simultaneous shouting from my men is loud enough, and then they do their task right away.
The first half-minute, things went smoothly, all platoons reporting.
The second half-minute, still running smoothly and all platoons reporting.
Similarly, the third minutes, fourth minutes, and so on, but at the eighth minute there was a warning shout from one of my men, not from those who entered the hole but from those on guard, those who had a sharp view saw something dangerous.
"ALL OF YOU, PROTECT YOURSELF WITH EVERY SKILL YOU HAD, THERE A NUCLEAR BOMB"
"The heck, seriously"
Cursing voice from my men is heard everywhere, all of them making their own toughest protection, I doubt everyone will survive if there is a nuclear bomb here and most of us will die here.
But a few seconds after warning, suddenly appeared some white, glowing and smoky stone chunks, dropping from the sky and passing through shields of some of my men, killing them.
When that white chunk passing a clump of water before, which still floating in the air, everything becomes smoky and our view becomes even more obscure than earlier.
"Everyone. Persists a bit longer, it's indication Nathan is still nearby"
I yelled to calming my subordinate that looked anxious, and mostly to calm myself. But not long after I screamed, the mist which was initially white because illuminated by the moon, turned orange. Something happened, and I absolutely not felt good about this.
I looked up.

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
