《Stupid Cat》67- Cat's Out

Ichi woke up that night in Renya's fort to Tama sleeping next to him. He carefully untangled himself from her breasts and snuck out the door. Tama acted as if she was still sleeping as Ichi slipped out the door. The night air blew past Ichi, chilling his body wrapped in a robe and sandals he bummed off Tama. Renya left before he went to sleep. She said something about a golem. Ichi shoved the orc sword in his sash, tying the robe tight to keep the chipped metal lump from unwrapping his clothes.
Ichi's eyes were drawn to the moonlight revealing a small girl with long black hair sitting near a treeline. As if she was waiting. Ichi walked closer, finding Rikya sitting under a tree close to the forest. She was reading a small journal with a magical girl on the front. She closed the journal and tucked it away as Ichi approached. Ichi greeted her with a wave.
"Reading?"
"Yes. Very interesting. Do you know Syon well?" Rikya said.
"Spent one night talking to her and she became the last boss."
Rikya laughed.
"What's with that?"
"'Last Boss'?" Ichi guessed at her intent.
Rikya threaded her fingers together, averting her eyes.
"You're really important to her."
"That's horrible. I had a feeling, though."
Ichi's mind flashed back to that long night. His hand going to her head without him being unaware, that clammy clinginess that felt like stumbling in a mist. Two nights with two girls, both felt like strike outs. One with Syon, one with Renya.
Rikya's voice cracked out as if she was whispering.
"Your dad, Genji Danzaburo, seems to be her target for revenge."
"Good?" Ichi grunted.
Rikya looked at him with the same level of surprise she did when Ichi turned Scipio's sword white.

"Huh?"
"I've never talked to him in my life. I think I could go the rest of my life not meeting him and not miss anything, based on what I've heard from my Grandpa."
Rikya stayed silent, looking to the ground. Then, she looked up, and laughed a little.
"We're very different."
Ichi patted her head and Rikya's eyes squinted as he did.
"That's alright. Family or friends, it's just more people, right?"
Rikya's face froze at Ichi's words. Her mouth half open, she looked like Ichi told her santa didn't exist. Ichi caught on.
"Worried about something? Tama, maybe?"
"Tama?" Rikya shook her head. Her voice strained out. "No, surely you know about my family?"
"Nope. I can guess though, since Myon called you a 'Witch'. Really, Tama is much more dangerous. Those... breasts... especially... " Ichi's eyes flashed back to Renya's fort.
Rikya laughed at Ichi, a smile glowing on her face as she hugged him when his head was turned.
"Oh?" Ichi turned his head back and down to look at the head of the small girl wrapped around his waist. The shine of the moonlight cut across her black hair.
Rikya looked up at him, smiling.
"Rikya, I don't know what you're thinking when you don't say anything and just smile."
Rikya smile grew wider.
"It's what you said. 'Family or friends, it's just more people, right?' I like that thinking."
Rikya released Ichi, taking a few steps back.
"Why'd you think I was worried about Tama?"
Ichi made a furrowed face, then ran his hand ran across his face as he blew out air.
"It's nothing. I'm worried. I smelled Myon's and Syon's scent. Satou took them deep into the forest, to the Spirit Gate, along with a small army."
Rikya cackled a little, a grin forming on her face.
"Cat's out of the bag."

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)
