《Stupid Cat》44- Vs Worst pt. 2

In the forest above the Elder Kraken, lighting poured like rain. Myon floated above the deep sea beast holding onto a long spear. Blue surged around her and thickened until it swallowed the beast in a thick column. A cylinder of lightning covered it, cooking it. The lightning cleared with scant crackles popping in the air. On the ground a massive black husk of tentacles and suckers started crumbling. Burnt parts snapped off and blew into the wind.
Myon charged the spear with lighting, out of it's end a plume of blue imitated a rocket. She locked on her target. A mature woman with fox ears and tails everywhere held her hand across her chest painted with blood. The Fox was breathing hard staring at the ground when Myon plunged the spear into her, driving her into a nearby tree and pinned her on it.
Myon let go of the spear, and shook out her right hand. From her big white sleeves a small thick golden scroll tumbled into her hand. A cold draft blew, catching Myon by surprise she blinked ice out of her eyes. She felt her hand holding the scroll turn numb. Her blood ran cold.
"Syon." Myon growled as she looked at her hand. It was entirely encased in ice.
Lighting crackled along the ice, blue sparks melting the ice into steam freeing her hand. Myon tossed the golden scroll back into her sleeve, a look of disappointment coloring her face as she groaned. Syon condensed out of mist behind Myon, her back to her, and she whispered into the air behind Myon's ear.
"Did you think I would not be here?"
"I knew you would be." Myon said. Her tone was low. "Ichi isn't someone I ever thought you could possibly ignore. I wouldn't have bothered coming otherwise, who else would but you would get us out of this mess?"

"You could have at least mentioned who we were fighting. That part - the most important part. If you had said nothing else - I would have had time to make a real plan. As it is - it has become a mess. I am not doing well tonight either."
Syon thought back to what she said when the Silver Cross wire broke from Renya's neck. Her instinct told her to pay attention to her own words. She made an error. Syon wrote them down after she drifted off the rooftop.
"Like you'll lose anyways." Myon grunted.
"Like we will lose." Syon said. "Is that her? The Burncastle's sealed spirit?"
Pinned against the tree, the Fox breathed hard with the spear stuck through her.
"It's her. Tamano no Mae. A bigshot like her was hiding down her for this long." Myon whispered. "We could take her out right now. Why'd you stop me?"
"This situation. It is the worst. Heal her." Syon said.
Myon leaped forward fanning out rectangle paper seals. Seven of them landed like knives all over Tama's body as Myon freed her spear with the same movement. She twirled it around and aimed at Syon. Electricity crackled out from the butt of the spear, and Myon rocketed straight towards Syon. Syon spread her iron fan the moment Myon went for her spear, by the time Myon charged at Syon she met a thick wall of ice. Syon left Myon's sight as Myon pushed her spear through the thick wall of ice, lightning burning it into a mountain of steam.
Myon felt Syon appear behind her back again. Myon didn't bother to turn around.
"I am not doing well. Please - go easy on me tonight." Syon pleaded.
The slight waver in Syon's voice made Myon slam her spear into the ground and turn around to face her.

Myon met Syon's eyes, and Syon's lips trembled a bit as she wiped them again. Then, she said it.
"Renya. She is the only one who could have brought the 'Worst' - Scipio - out to this village. The only reason someone of his ability and bloodline would be here is if Scipio knew about the Armory. She must have discovered our secret somehow. Or Rikya. But - Rikya's presence here is a mystery to me. Renya had motive. Renya almost killed me."
"Seriously?" Myon didn't believe her. There wasn't much that could catch Syon by surprise.
"I told you - I am not doing my best tonight. Plus - Ichi was mean to me."
Myon's arm reached out slowly. As if deciding whether or not to move, Myon watched her own hand, then she grabbed Syon into a one armed hug, rubbing her back.
"It's okay. It's just another night."
Syon buried her face in Myon's chest as Myon other arm encircled her.
"I have a plan. You will not like it." Syon whispered from below Myon's face.
"I never like your plans."

Natural Alchemist
Will is poor. This is a fact he does not like about himself. Even back at his home village he was considered poor, but poor in the big city means something completely different than poor in a small village... It means ten hour days of hard manual labor with barely enough money to survive, and poor living conditions. He's sick of it, and desperate for change. Perhaps that was what made him decide to spend such a large portion of his savings on a mysterious potion from that beggar... That, and it seemed so special when he held it. But ever since that day, he's been having the strangest dreams... And the work is really starting to take a toll on his body... Author's Note: I wasn't sure which mature content warnings I should put on this novel, as I'm pretty much pantsing the story. I'm putting them there mostly as a percaution, but also to not limit myself as to where the story can go. This is my first time writing and publishing anything substantial. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

A story based in the world of Drew Hayes "SuperPowereds" Series, this is my attempt at a fan-fiction that holds very close to the canonical worldbuilding already done. I hope you enjoy.
