《OutRage: Total Realism.》OutRage: Total Realism - Ch 3 - The Might of Moles and Magic

Henry had just finished checking his spells when he realized that the garden was getting darker, the light was fading.
[ah, crap looks like I need to hurry up and fight this overgrown mole... hmm, let's try this.]
Taking off as fast as he could he sprinted towards the mole, which was standing directly in front of the gate.
"What are you doing?!", shouted the small girl sitting atop the lamppost.
Not bothering to distract himself he didn't look away from the Mole, just as he came upon the Mole he saw a small window floating above its head.
Ajax "Grave-Digger" Lvl 10Health 800/800
Not slowing down he raised his right hand as he went to circle around the left side of the Mole, who had finally deigned to notice something moving around him.
Before he could get into position, the Mole stabbed its front claws into the ground using them as spades it threw clumps of soil at Henry as if trying to bury him.
"AH, WIND BLAST!", feeling a strange sensation in his right hand before a huge gust of wind blasted all the soil and loose stones back at the Mole.

Being stunned for a good second, Henry didn't see the Moles claw swipe at him through the dust.
"oof-", getting the wind knocked from his lungs with the sound of cracking ribs and being thrown ten meters away.

As he struggled to breathe, he heard a soft whimpering, [Is that me? No how can I make any sort of sound when I can hardly breathe... ah F*ck my chest hurts.]
Heavy steps and scraping sounds, tell him that he really needs to get up as the Mole isn't finished with him.
Cursing himself for running in like an idiot he spits out a mouthful of blood and climbs to his feet.
He see's the Mole is almost upon him and he quickly backpedals before running into the lamppost just two steps from where he fell.
Hearing a yell above him, "I-IGNITE!".
Looking up he see's a thin hand outstretched pointed down, following the direction of the the hand with a dumbfounded look on his face he feels before he sees the immense heat and then the flames that seemed to be trying to devour the Mole.

The Mole came to an abrupt stop, with a wail and ear-splitting screech it flailed about trying to put itself out.

Breaking from his stupor, Henry pointed his right hand at the Mole, with a slight and bloody grin he said "Wind Blast!".
The same strange feeling of something gathering inside his hand before the huge gust of wind slammed into the mole fanning the flames and knocking it a few meters away and off its feet.

Henry used his free hand to pull his shirt over his mouth and nose.
The Mole was making small whimpering noises as the electricity poured throughout its body causing more pain than actual damage, the girls face went pale and she looked as if she was trying desperately not to vomit.
-8.5 DMG -8 MANA
[710.6/800]
Counting down the mana consumption in his head, he knew that he only had 20 or so seconds before he was out of mana.
[crap, I don't have enough mana... F*ck, F*ck, F*CK!!]
The light slowly got dimmer, the outer clearing of the garden becoming shrouded in darkness.
Sitting atop the lamppost visibly paling, she shrieked and yelled,
"NO NO NO NO, BRING THE BIG BASTARD OVER HERE I NEED SOMETHING TO BURN!"
Henry severely shocked at her massive change in character inadvertently stopped casting Static Touch, staring at her for a split second before looking back to the Mole which had lost bladder control and was breathing heavily, moving if only slightly.
Not thinking twice he aimed his right hand at the mole and chanted, "Wind Blast?"
The Mole was launched as if from a cannon heading straight to the lamppost.

[93/100]
Henry rushed over, his lungs burning and ribs creaking in protest.
"Are you all right!?", he asked more concerned about her well being than his own.
Seeing her pale face and tear-filled eyes, as she held her scraped knees.
"No, I-I'm *sniff* alright... "
Turning back to the Mole, it was screeching in pain as it dragged is leg behind it, shuffling its way towards the two.
Grabbing the girl by the hand Henry pulled her to her feet while quickly asking,
"Do you have any other spells?"
"I have something called Flare, it says it blinds... probably wont work on a mole though..."
Looking a little dejected, she seemed to have all but given up on beating the Mole.
Henry said to her, "when I yell I want you to use it, okay?".
A little surprised she quickly nodded and ran out of the way of the incoming Mole.
The Mole having dragged itself closer during their conversation, was almost within reach of Henry.
Gritting his teeth against the throbbing coming from his ribs, he raised his right arm towards the Mole and waited.
The Mole now close enough to hit him, raised its claw to end his life, swinging at Henry's head.
He once again chanted the spell that was quickly becoming likened to the name of a lover on his lips,
"Wind Blast".
Wind whipped at his clothes and hair as it surged out from his hand slamming into the Mole, throwing it back towards the Lamppost with a fearful screech it collided with the base.

*Sound of metal twisting*
-40 DMG -12 MANA
[630.6/800]
The Mole having been burned, electrocuted, thrown around like a toy and having shamed itself, had apparently been pushed beyond its limits as it was now mindlessly clawing its way towards Henry with nothing in its mind but the urge to tear this annoyance apart limb from limb.
Clearly chasing after Henry albeit slowly, he scrunched his eyes closed and yelled, "NOW GIRL, CLOSE YOUR EYES!"
Having been waiting for his yell, the girl covered her eyes with one hand and pushed the other out before her,
"I CAST FLARE!"

Blinded effect has been applied, can no longer see.
The Mole having been exposed to the brightest thing it's ever seen, stopped moving and tried to shield its eyes from the pain.
Henry after opening his eyes, ran to the stunned Mole and placed his hand on its forehead, his eyes filled with certainty he passed judgement, "Static Touch!".

Henry held it immobilized using short five second burst, while he yelled to the girl "GET TO THE LAMPPOST, USE THAT FIRE SPELL!".
The girl looking between Henry and the lamppost quickly caught on to his plan, positioning herself behind the lamppost and waiting for her mana to regen, whilst he keeps it stunned.

Stopping the spell before he was completely drained as he was starting to feel dizzy and had a migraine behind his eyes, he looked over at the girl only to see her not having started.
[OH CRAP IN A HAND BASKET DON'T TELL ME SHE'S OUT OF MANA!?]
Looking back to the Mole Henry saw it beginning to regain its muscle control after being electrocuted, seeing it would be seconds before it started moving again, he decided to use the last of his mana to buy her a few more seconds.

Spending the last of his mana he collapsed, breathing heavily and unconscious.
*****POV CHANGE*****
Stephanie having been watching anxiously saw him fall, and couldn't help but worry about him.
She realized that the mole would soon be moving and would kill the kind young man who looks lifeless laying against the soft grass.
Stealing a glance at her Mana [62.5/200], she waited only one second more before desperately yelling, "IGNITE!".
Aiming not at the mole, but at the twisted and bent base of the lamppost, summoning all the heat around her to her will she forced it into the Iron weakening it and causing it to bend dramatically towards the Mole.
In her desperation she pushed against the lamppost with all her might crying as the metal burned her hands,
with one final push the iron gave and came crashing down on the confused and angry Mole, smashing its back and killing it instantly as it crushed its heart and shattered its spine.
Hearing a soft chime but swiping the message away before reading it she ran to the young man, hoping he was alright.
*****POV CHANGE*****
Feeling something touching his face, and hearing a soft chime.
He blinked away the tears and against his bodies numerous protests raised himself into a sitting position, seeing a blurry shape in front of him and ringing in his ears, he tried focusing on the thing before him.
The Guardian has FallenYou have earned you're freedom, pass through the final Gate.
Looking around he saw the dead Mole and surprisingly the worried and anxious looking face of the girl he still hadn't learned the name of.
Being as completely out of it as he was he couldn't help but compare her to a sad puppy, which brought a stupid grin to his face and caused the worried girl to crush his ribs in relief.
-5 DMG
[34/100]
She let go as he grunted in pain, saying "oh, I-I didn't mean to, I'm soo sorry!".
Taking his time to calm his hurting body, he looked over to see the light still draining from the lamppost.
Looking to the girl he asked, "Look we need to get out of here, can you help me walk?", immediately the girl gently helped him stand and he leaned against her, using her as a crutch.
The girls pace seemed to pick up as the light began to fade much quicker then before forcing Henry to struggle to keep up with her, as they passed through the gate, it slammed closed with the same metal spikes as the others.
They walked for a long time through the dimly lit hedge row, with nothing but the sound of their ragged breathes and heavy footsteps.
Henry decided he should know her name, considering that she helped him and all he wanted to thank her properly.
"Um, I wanted to thank you for not leaving me to die to that Mole, but I don't even know your name, can you to tell me?"
Blushing slightly but as the hedges weren't that well lit, it wen't unnoticed, she replied. "M-my name's St-steph, what's your name?" her voice cracked slightly as she asked.
"Henry, my name is Henry and thank you Steph, for being there."
Henry said this as they turned a bend in the hedge rows, revealing an open space beyond the hedge's.
Looking at each other with relieved expressions hoping to finally be out of these damnable gardens, they hurried out of the opening, only to be met with the sight of a medieval city, closing up for the day as it was almost night time and a storm was coming.
Standing there dumbfounded, they looked around at the people hurrying home not paying attention to the dirty and blood-stained people who came of the hedges, when cold drops of rain splattered against Henry and Steph.
Coming to their senses they asked around for somewhere they could wait out the storm, but were met with.
"You got any money?" and,
"No money, means not my problem. Get lost street urchins!"
With no where to go, but unwilling to log out somewhere unsafe they started walking between the stone buildings looking for a modicum of shelter from the weather in the alleyways.
They found a small alcove between a large stone store and the towns surrounding wall which was 10 meters high, sitting down they both finally began to relax and ease their exhausted bodies.
The storm was picking up and it was steadily getting colder as the night settled in, stray drops of rain flicked against the two tired people leaning against each other for warmth against the harsh weather.
It wasn't long before they fell asleep, snoring softly her head leaning against his left side, his arm having found its way around her keeping that precious warmth close.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.

My Good Friend Murphy
***Disclaimer*** I wrote and am writing this purely for my own amusement. That means that this could have major revisions done to it sporadically, it has more grammar errors than even the most mentally stable grammar nazi could withstand, and will not update at all regularly. This is an ad-hoc fun experimental work with forced motives, plotholes, and static characters. Don't expect too much. That said, this mutated mistake of a short novella follows a ditzy MC who has been transported to a new world with the dubiously useful skills origin and enigma and the obnoxiously imbalanced skill, traveler. If you'd like more incentive to give it a shot, you will never get spoilers about the plot because there isn't one (Actual synopsis coming soon, relative to eternity)
