《Unfortunately This Happened.》Chapter 7: Deimbe

The Tailorshop in the middle of the night. After the quests, divine message box suddenly went bland, unfeeling, mechanical, since the mentioning of others like me.
I wonder if I can get Deimbe(DMB, Divine message box) to come back by calling Lady Luck? A month cooldown, I might really need her at a different time, but I made friends with Deimbe, and want it back.
Okay, it's decided, I'll risk it! I want my friendly voice inside my head back!
Activating skill "777Day", please snap your fingers at the location for Lady Luck to appear at.
I snap my fingers to beside me on the bed I'm sharing with Clyde. Yeah, the old couple Abe and Edna, wanted just one orphan for a reason.
A shining pink light pours throughout the tiny bedroom, and Lady Luck in pajamas appears beside me holding a small teddy version of me in her arms.
"Hey Ren, I was wondering when you were going to summon me! I've been dying to get another good look at you up close." Izzy winks at me as she smiles in a sleepy manner.
"So what did you want to talk about? Hmmm?" She nudges me causing me to knock into a sleeping Clyde, but he's a heavy sleeper, reminds me of Sir Jailor Alex.
"Can you return Deimbe back to normal? You know, Divine message box."
"I sure can, but Deimbe broke a rule, a minor one. I can make an exception if you can win against me in paper, rock, scissors!"
She is the embodiment of Luck, how can I win? I think she can read my mind as well like Deimbe. Anyway, if she really wants to return Deimbe, she'll pick paper, if not, rock. If she just wants to mess with me, she'll pick scissors. The answer to this, is to pick scissors!

"You ready Ren? Okay, paper, rock, scissors!", I watch her hand closely to make sure she doesn't change her choice mid throw. She picked scissors, I picked rock. I win.
"Thats not fair, you were going to pick scissors! I wanted to mess with you before I let you win."
"So you can read my mind after all? I knew you wouldn't want me to win a short game easily, that's why I loudly thought that plan out for you."
"Whatever! Just know if Deimbe messes up again, I'm not picking a simple game again."
+1 Luck for beating Lady Luck! Thank you for saving me!
No problem Deimbe, I was worried about you.
"Anyway, since you won, and this pretty much was just a little fun game. I'm going to shortened the cooldown for the skill by half a month. Hope to see you soon, bye Ren.", she says with her face buried in the teddy version of me, then disappears in a glimmer of pink lights.
Okay, back to normal, now to actually sleep.
*****
Morning time, finished running errands for the tailorshop. Ate breakfast, and now asking Clyde for the dagger to return it back to Petra.
"She wants it back that badly? She has that metal staff though, she should be fine without the dagger.", I remind him about the monsters that sneak into the orphanage, then reluctantly passes the dagger to me.
"Tell her I'm sorry, please?"
"No, do it yourself, you coward. I want to do more quests, hopefully with Petra."
"Ugh, fine you brat, you're lucky the all the people around town like you for some reason."
"I did a quest of passing meals to all the labourers in town."
"Oh, damn. No wonder. After doing my chores, I dunno if I got any more energy to do even attempt any quests." Clyde collapses onto the stool he's sitting on in a fake exhaustion.

Anyway, I got the dagger! Time to go see Petra, then see if she's up for doing quests with me. I also really want to know the black haired cutie's name at the Laughing Raven tavern.
*****
The Orphanage, Petra apologized and told me she's needed at the orphanage and can't leave to do quests with me. Unless the Orphanage hired more caretakers, older orphans graduating to adulthood, to help.
Jean, Clyde's childhood friend, will become an adult soon in a months time. Then Petra can spend time with me on quests. I appreciate that she actually took the time to explain, "Not now, but definitely later!", this is why I love Petra.
Jean is a scruffy looking girl with black hair in a ponytail, a smug look always on her face like she's plotting on how to steal your breakfast. Which she is always doing to the other orphans, since she is the only chubby person, in the right places, at the orphanage. Still, I can't get to like her.
I take off to the tavern, and ask about the quests from the black haired cutie. This time I ask for her name, since she knows my name, probably by her sister. Her name is Sarah.
Sarah tells me I can do a monster hunt by stopping by each place in town and clear out any sneaky monsters. They regularly hide in the tool sheds and near food storages. So I tasked myself to patrol for a week clearing out monsters, and doing errands for the tailorshop.
All the monsters were easy to deal with until the last day of the quest. A monster talked to me. Telling me to spare it, it was a soul slime.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
