《Ascension Game》4th Entry - Grief

People are devastated; most think this is a prank, others that terrorists have kidnapped us. I believe otherwise since the size of the wall outside is unbelievable; only a government could have built that, or maybe Aliens.
As I walk through the hallway I came from; I encounter something. That is a humanoid robot standing still. It is looking at me through its blue-lighted eyes. Is that the automatons they were talking about? I must be in a state of trance because it barely surprised me. I detour to avoid the thing as it does not seem aggressive. I instinctively went back to my room. I close the door behind me and hop on the bed burrowing my head under the pillow. I am exhausted; I fall asleep.
I wake up a few hours later with a growling stomach. I open my closet, which turns out to be a door. I discover a bathroom and a tiny kitchen, but I do not find any food. I naturally find my way to the cafeteria; some people are already eating. I pick up a tray and go through the rails. Automatons are serving the food; I use my wrist to pay. This is surreal, yet no one is paying attention to them. I do not look for people I know and sit alone. I start eating, and the food is good.
I look at the others; they look scared. Even though there is no imminent threat, we are all on our guards. Suddenly someone appears in front of me. Markus, a friend of mine: “Hi Joshua, mind if I sit here?”. He seems tired and anxious; I agree with a head nod. Markus is the kind of guy who cannot stop talking; that is ok with me since I’m quite the opposite. We discuss the place and how neither of us knows what is happening. He also tells me how he got separated from his girlfriend, they both went to bed together last night, yet only him got transported here.

We are joined by others, acquaintances of Markus. Since he gets distracted by the others, I start to examine the thing on my wrist. It got essential apps; I wonder if you can add any. I find the “pain limiter” we were talked about in the presentation. It is currently set on “arm fracture,” which is one-fourth of the total bar. The cursor can move anywhere on the bar, displaying a different example at each step. The smallest value is “knife-cut,” and the most significant is “mind break”; what the hell is “mind break”? An instruction clarifies: “this setting will prevent you from reaching the selected state of pain.” I left the thing on default and put my wrist away.
I clear my table and head to my room. I am not really in the mood for more social interaction.
I pass upon the library and decide to visit it. The place is filled with books and computers. I look over the different categories: technology, martial art, and others. The materials here seem normal at first, but the more I inspect, the more oddities I find. There is a “Magic” section and a “Enemies” shelf. I sit on a couch and start overlooking the different books for an hour. I grab a few books: Assisted Combat System, Magic for beginners, and Station Operating Manual, then leave the library to pass by the gym; it is also empty. I decide to spend the rest of the afternoon here and try to clear my mind. Since I’m not very buff, I try out the different machines. I shower and head to my room (for real this time). I decide to wait for dinner lying on my bed but fall asleep again.
