《Rise as a Demon Lordress》Vol 1 Ch 8: Elf Girl

I know I said that I must get stronger.
I said it but...
That dragon is the reincarnation of evil!
I wobbled over to my bed and threw myself on it.
It's been two months since I first arrived here and agreed to become a Demon Lordress.
I'm so exhausted that I think I forgot what it was like to have a good sleep!
I turned onto my back to stared up at the ceiling.
He's been training me down to the bone!
So far I've been training in magic, magic tactics, stratedgy, leadership and combat.
Not only that he made it his mission to drag me off to fight monsters whose levels were way higher than my own!
I've been injured, ripped to shreds, and even almost eaten.
I trembled as I think of all the times my body has been painfully ripped apart.
That demon dragon made me go through all that until I learned how to regenerate.
Ugh!
Is it possible to take back everything?
I sat up and sighed.
No.
Though the training was intense it was working.
Learning how to regenerate even if the process is slow for now.
Even learning how to use basic magic, basic magic tactics, stradegy, leadership and the basics of combat in just two months.
Not only that I even learned to control my urge to lose my senses when I'm hungry.
He made me go hungry for days and locked me in a dark room all by myself .
Honestly, I hated him for a bit until I slowly began to keep my senses.
I now can use my rage and still be concious.
There was a tap at my door, "is that you Til?" I asked.
The door pushed open to reveal the man of my problems.
"How are you feeling?" He asked holding a patch in his hand.
I should mention that our relationship has somehow started to change a bit.
At first I used to easily just obey him but I wonder when this man started doing these things?
Though he was the one to put me through all that he'd always make up for it.
All while wearing an expression that kind of reminds me of a puppy that disobeyed its master.
I quickly learned that this dragon was looking for the perfect person to serve under.

I haven't even came close to earning that right, but it's clear that our roles were slowly starting to change.
I even learned how to keep myself from getting so excited by his hot ikeman looks.
Two months, huh?
Am I someone who can adapt easily?
After applying the patch to my most recent wound he took my hand in his and without warning brought it to his lips.
Right, this was another thing that changed.
This guy, he's been doing these kinds of things recently.
It's not all the time, though.
I got so used to it that it no longer fazed me.
"Don't worry about me. Just feeling a bit sore." I tell him.
He crouched down at eye level, his expression showed concern.
"Should I lighten the training a bit?" He asked.
I wanted to immediately say yes, something tells me that he'd immediately do just that.
Instead I shook my head, "it's fine, getting stronger is my only wish." I tell him.
Right, because of him I have a few powerful magic skills as well.
TI won't go into specific details just yet though.
For now I should continue my training.
"I'm glad to hear that. I thought you was mad at me since I could pratically hear you cursing me earlier." He says.
"Urgh." I flinched.
He's seriously really good at guessing things like that.
Another's Perspective
Reesa leaves with Islacc to continue her training.
Her skills in combat and magic combined was something she was proud to display.
She's gotten so good at her control that she was damn near on par with Islacc.
Even when he's using his dragon form she manages to land damage before losing.
At first she would lose horribly but two months of that intensive training was worth it.
Maybe she'll be able to even defeat this Ancient Dragon?
Nearby Village
"Monster!"
Screams pierce the sky as a large monster attacks the villagers.
This is a village of humans, but there was an elf slave being held and was used as fodder.
This elf was a young woman with no name.
She had a dirty appearance so it was hard to make out her features.
Right now she was huddled inside a dark cubby doing her best to hide from the monster rampaging the village.
If she can survive this than that means she'll be free from these humans.

She quietly and frantically bit her fingernail.
Her heart was pounding like crazy but she still refused to make a sound.
Her only thoughts were that she didn't want to die.
If anything she wanted to live.
She wanted to take her revenge on the humans that made her into a slave.
Even if they all die here, her anger and hatred for humans will not cease to exist.
So, instead she will take her anger out on all the humans that dare hurt her in the future.
All she have to do is survive.
I must survive.
No matter what!
The screaming of humans were no more.
Instead the sound of footsteps from outside the cubby frightened her.
Did a human survive?
Why?
She covered her mouth and the sound of her heartbeat quickened.
"Lady Reesa, the monster was dealt with." A small voice says.
"Extract the core for me, a monster like that must have a good core."
That's a woman's voice!
Was there a Lady Reesa amongst the human's here?
Is it possible that she was saved?
It doesn't matter who it is, whoever it is it's better than being here slaving away!
Determined, the elf girl pushed open the cabinet and crawled out.
The first thing she noticed were a pair of female boots.
Her eyes traveled up legs to a pair of red eyes that looked down at her.
"Hm? What's this, a survivor?" The woman asked peering down at her.
The elf swallowed, but thankfully it was not a human.
The woman seemed to be studying her as if trying to determine what to do with her.
"It's a child. Is it human?" This Lady Reesa seemed to be talking out loud.
She suddenly began to eminate an evil aura that could make a high level monster submit to her.
"Then I must kill it."
The elf felt fear instantly and gulped.
Who is she? This scary person?
It's obvious that she was someone strong.
A boy orc entered holding something circular and yellow in his hand.
He noticed her immediately, "an elf?" He asked with a tilt of his head.
The woman known as Lady Reesa looked at the orc in surprise.
"An elf you say?" She asked.
She then turned to look down at the elf, "show me your ears." She ordered.
Ah!
The elf immediately tucked her hair revealing a pointed ear.
"I see, so you are an elf." She mutters.
The elf watched as the aura disappeared, does this mean she's safe?
"Let's go Til, we're done here." Lady Reesa says to the orc boy.
Was she leaving? But....
"Wait!' She called out.
She covered her mouth in shock but it was too late since now this Lady Reesa was looking back at her.
Be brave, you can do it!
"Please take me with you!" She bowed her head to the floor.
At first there was no reaction.
"Why should I?" Lady Reesa asked.
Why?
That's right a reason.
"I want to be stronger. I don't want to be a slave to humans anymore. So please! I promise to be loyal to you for however long I live!" She yells.
Please.
It was silent again.
Perhaps, was she being rejected?
That's when the sounds of footsteps drew near.
Without warning Lady Reesa stooped down grabbing her chin and raising it.
Their eyes meet and there seemed to be this long silence.
"An elf girl with this weak constitution wishes to follow me? Hm.... I admit that I could use a loyal subordinate. Alright then." She says helping her stand to her feet.
"Lady Reesa, will you really take in this elf girl?" The orc boy asked.
Lady Reesa smiled mysteriously, "that's right."
She held her hand out to her and it was like looking at a demon angel being illuminated by a bright and shiny light.
In her hand was the yellow orb.
"I warn you, I do not accept any weaknesses. If you follow me, no matter what you must not betray me. And last you must alway be sure to call me, Mistress." Lady Reesa says.
The elf reached out her hand and accepted the yellow orb, "I will forever follow and will never betray my Mistress." She agreed.
"Good, swallow that to evolve and follow me." Her Mistress ordered.
The elf did as told and just like that a light bursted from her causing her body to take a new shape.
"For now on, I'll call you Hina!"

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
