《Rise as a Demon Lordress》Vol 1 Ch. 2: Goddess of Flames

This is the start of my adventures and how a lowly Ogre Demon such as myself rose to the top of the food chain.
Kingdom of Sky Larcs
A great war between the elves and the humans drew the world into separate countries all over the world. In the sky are the elves with superior abilities known as Larcs.
Larcs are known to stay out of anything that has nothing to do with them. Even so they keep their eye on the world below them, after all they had a job to keep all creatures alike at a balance.
"Sumian! This is absurb!" A man with elf ears, green hair, and green wings entered into a shimmering palace throne room angrily.
Sumian Eldarc, A high ranking Elf Prince, stood staring into a veiwing space.
"Ah, if it isn't Perstis. What do I owe the pleasure?" Prince Sumian asked as he snapped his finger.
The Veiwing space disappeared instantly.
"You ask as if you don't know? Are you serious? You have some nerve, you ass!" Perstis yells pointing in Prince Sumian's direction.
Prince Sumian pasted a fake smile on his lips before taking a seat in his throne chair.
"Is this about the Duke's younger sister, perhaps?" He asked as he narrowed his gaze at Perstis.
Perstis clenches his fist trying not to explode.
"You know this is about that. Why did you insist in marrying her off to that Yuvo?" He asked.
Prince Sumian doesn't answer, "hmm..."
Seems that he stumbled onto something bothersome.
"Indeed I did insist it, but the choice was entirely up to her." He says with a shrug.
Perstis glared at him.
"You know, even if you're my dearest friend and the Duke himself. I advise you to watch that expression of yours." Prince Sumian says his tone cold as ice.
Parstis turns away with an angry expression, "hmph." He says with his arms crossed.
Prince Sumian sighs. It seems he has spoiled his dear friend way too much.

"It occurs to me that you should get yourself a wife, Perstis. Perhaps it will erase that strange sister complex you have." Prince Sumian says.
Perstis flinched, "urk...."
If Somia heard the way he fretted so much over her she'd probably rebel even more. It's clear that girl is doing her best to upset this clingy brother of hers.
"Dammit!" Perstis sweeps back his robe before exiting the throne room.
"I wonder, if it really is alright to leave him like that?" He mutters to himself.
A small smile came across Prince Sumian's lips.
Even so, it will really be interesting to watch how this playes out.
For now he need to keep an eye on something going on down below.
He snaps his fingers as the Veiwing space reappeared in front of hi.
One can see a volcano errupting in a canyon.
It looks like something dangerous is awaking.
When was the last time something happened since the last Great War?
Prince Sumian rubs his chin, if his calculations were correct, that King of Dragons have been sleep for about 500 years.
Let's not peek anymore, after all that guy can always tell when someone is peeking in on him.
Snaps finger and the Veiwing space disappears once again.
Nothing ever turns out good when that guy is around, too bad that all he can do is watch.
Irata City
"Ten gold for this fine Saber-Wolf fur!" A merchant calls out as the crowded city of Irata was ablazed with visitors and residents alike.
I was thankful for the dingy, dirt-clad cloak that we wore. The less attention I drew the better.
I even made sure we both wore a mask to hide our faces.
Irata city was a place where monters roamed but I couldn't say the same for demons.
It was understandable that humans would fear our kind the most, since we demons despised humans and treat them as part of the food chain.
I was once human, but I rather not be bothered by them as long as they did not bother me.

One thing I have noticed is that with Kika by my side things have been a bit hectic.
He gets way too excited very easily.
I'm afraid with him by my side we would draw attention to ourselves eventually.
I should find a place for us to reside for a bit away from the public eye.
Since, I don't have money on me I think I could take on a quest to earn some change.
It would have to be something that isn't way too dangerous but garner enough cash to sleep for a few days.
Kika and I entered an Adventure Guild that was not too far from the town center.
The whispers around us made me adjust my hood as we walked through a crowd of adventurers to the desk clerk.
I hope that they haven't noticed that we were demons.
The man at the desk glanced towards us with a suspicious stare, "may I help you?" He asked.
I clear my thoat, "I wish to sign up for that." I say pointing to the quest board where the adventurers gathered.
Thanks to my new ability to speak and understand several languages something like this was no problem.
He followed my fingers to the board and glanced back at me and Kika.
"Are you for real? Aren't you two just kids?" He asked.
"I'm already fifteen." I told him dryly.
"Woah really! Wow, you guys are small. I thought for sure you were younger than that!" The clerk says with a shocked expression.
How annoying. But it is true, I may be a bit taller than Kika but I was still short compared to most humans and demon races.
As a mater of fact the orge demons were small to begin with ,unless we undergo an evolution.
"Stop talking nonsense and sign us up." I say trying my best to keep my anger in check.
The clerk nervously pulls out a paper and lies it on the desk, "please sign this and I'll explain....."
I grabbed the paper and signed it, "there's no need to explain anything. I'm well aware of how everything works." I tell him.
That's right, things like this was something my human self knew back in my past life.
Added on the fact that all that knowledge was given to me by that strange marble.
I pat Kika on the shoulder, "let's go, Kika." I say as the two of us head over to the quest board.
"Um, Ree...I mean Master? How come you can speak the human language?" Kika whispers to me.
"I just do." I tell him.
"What's with these kids? Do they think being adventurer's a game?" A voice says behind us.
I turned my head to find a human man with a smirk on his lips.
He had dark blonde hair, dark blue eyes, and in human terms was pretty handsome.
"We're not kids. Don't bother us." I tell him turning back to the quest board.
"Not kids you say." He grabs my arm.
I turned to glare at him, but he couldn't see pass my mask.
"Hey, Francois. Let the girl go, 'kay?" A woman's voice said.
"It's the famous "Goddess of Flames"." People were saying.
The man squeezed my arm tightly but then dropped it before facing the woman in question.
"Nimata, what a pleasant surprise. Did you go slay another dragon?" He asked with a fake smile.
"Don't be sarcastic, Francois. How about finding someone else to bully. Leave the newbies alone." Nimata says with narrowed eyes.
He was quiet for a minute, "of course. How could I possibly ignore the famous hero "Goddess of Flames"." He says before glaring in my direction.
He sweeps back his shirt before turning away to leave out the adventure guild.
"What an ass." Nimata mutters before facing us.

The Type Specialist
Alex wakes up in the world of Pokémon. Obviously, the next step is to become a Pokémon Trainer, but not just any Pokémon Trainer. Why should I be mediocre with every type when I can be an expert in one? The Type Specialist is my first attempt to write a fiction. It is solely about travelling the world and building a strong team. Don't expect a solid plotline outside of Alex taking on the Gym Challenge and dealing with small problems that pop up here and there. Updates 5 times a week, every weekday until caught up.

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all? Is he willing to condemn some for the sake of others? Is he willing to make the right, albeit harsh, decisions? Only the heavens would know. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Additionally, any views and beliefs expressed by the characters are not the author's own. The story is also not an endorsement of any actions taken within. The 'profanity' and 'sexual content' warning tags are there to be safe (and to leave room for potential future changes), but for now these two things are not inside this novel. This is my take on 'cultivation', though it might be somewhat disconnected from the general idea of the genre. Release schedule: Two chapters a week. The cover was created using wombo art. While I believe that creations using the app are in the public domain, if that is not the case, I will take it down.
