《Universe 2.0》Chapter 96 The rainbow bridge

About ten minutes later, the rain stopped. Dark clouds drifted reluctantly away from the hospital. When the last cloud had cleared, the vast mother star was visible. It was falling slowly and shining brightly. Then, in the still damp air, William and his party saw, sure enough, a rainbow bridge. It was really quite different -- it was mostly red light. Like a giant, it stood on the flat ground all around it, its broad, tall chest straight out. The red rainbow looked in perfect harmony with the red mother star.
"Oh! Rainbow!" Cried William excitedly. At once he ran out of the door and into the hall.
"Rocket backpack, please!" Dancing, he said to the robot sitting at the reception desk, "I'm going to find the flying robot!"
"Yes, in a minute." The robot smiled and searched a huge cabinet behind the reception desk. A moment later, it pulled out a bag and gave it to William, "Here you are!"
"Thanks!" William couldn't wait to put it on. Then he turned to the others in the room and shouted, "Come! Don't you want to experience what it's like to be here on this planet?"
His companions followed him, laughing and running out of the door. The robot smiled behind them and watched them running happily on the ground.
The air was moist, fresh and fragrant. But there were no plants here yet, so it was just the smell of the soil. Mighty had just told William that humans were coming to this planet, and he thought that alien plants were about to appear here.
Ranran took a deep breath and closed her eyes, intoxicated. The others imitated her, closing their eyes and enjoying the beauty of the place.
William was going up the rainbow bridge. "Wait for me below!" As he spoke, he methodically operated the rocket backpack. The backpack shot out brilliant flames and carried him quickly through the air.
"Hooray!" He could hear the others cheering loudly from below.
The wind whistled merrily in his ears. Suspended raindrops clung to his face, wet and cool. He touched them with his hands, and they felt very slippery. The red light from the mother star shone on his face, lighting up his brilliant smile. He laughed out loud and heard his own voice echoing below him. It seemed that the whole planet was celebrating William's safe return.
William was about to reach the top of the rainbow bridge. Dimly he saw a figure waiting for him at the top of the rainbow bridge. The figure said nothing, merely smiling kindly, until William flew to the top of the rainbow bridge and saw him.

William was stunned: it was not so much a flying robot as another himself with a rocket backpack. Because this so-called "flying robot" looked and dressed exactly like him. When he spoke later, he would find that even his voice was the same.
"We seem to be cut from the same mold," He thought, asking the robot, "Hello! May I ask who you are --"
"I'm a flying robot, but it seems you prefer to call me William." He replied. Sure enough, his voice was the same as William's. If he didn't see it, one would think William was talking to himself.
"Eh? Why, though you seem to be another me?" William was at a loss.
"You will soon find out." The robot handed him a hard disk. He took his computer out of the backpack and connected it to the hard disk. "Open the folder 'Universe 2.0'." Said the robot.
William saw a series of files with strange names. He asked, "What is this?"
"Actually," Said the robot, "that universe doesn't exist at all. It's just some codes that your father designed."
"What?" William was shocked. He gaped at the files, unable to believe that such a vast universe could be virtual. The files, however, were the strongest evidence, and the first text document "Instructions" proved it. In this document was written how to use the files.
"This...... It can't be, can it?" William looked at the robot in surprise. But the robot just smiled and looked at him.
"Dad won't lie to you." The robot said to William, "He created a black hole and a five-dimensional space with some codes, and then he formulated a set of fundamental laws of physics for the universe. After doing this he created elementary particles, which are the basis of all matters. There are some details that need to be refined through additional codes. In fact, only the very three planets had life on them, because the codes were only for them. Other planets, which seemed endless, are really just piles of elements. They were lonely because there were no other objects added to them, and you would not land on them. It's worth noting that everything you got in that universe belongs to that universe. They're all virtual, but you can find them all now because Dad made them. Rebecca and Aria have also been inserted into their memories that were stored in the virtual universe, so it looks like they did experience everything."
The robot paused and picked out a square object the size of a fingernail, "Know what this is?" William shook his head.

"In fact, this object is a mind detector. It, as well as all the codes, was developed by Mom and Dad in cooperation with some computer companies. Oh, by the way, I don't seem to have told you where I came from. I am a robot made by Dad. He used bionics to import some of your characteristics into me, so you will think I'm another you.
"Let's go back to the mind detector. It's programmed, which allows it to control your thoughts and actions. The You-Know-Who who has been trying to kill you is a character created by mind detector's program. On top of that, when you were fighting against the fighter in the five-dimensional space, you felt so much pain and you could still damage the fighter and antimatter bomb in time, which was also because of its help.
"And I was with you through it all. From flying the spaceship off Earth to now, there has not been a moment when I have not been with you. But of course you didn't notice because I've been wearing the 'completely disappear' clothes and now I've taken it off. This technology was mature, so Dad applied it to me. Were you surprised?"
William opened his mouth wider. He was shocked that the universe was virtual, and he did not expect that the robot had told him such secrets. He turned back to look at the red mother star sinking completely below the horizon, and he reached out to touch the brilliant rainbow. The feelings were real, and he was shocked that such real feelings could be created virtually by codes.
The robot continued, "I also saw that you found puzzling things in many places, such as Maxwell's equations, the valence electron arrangement, and many other clues. And so you have doubts about that universe. I'm surprised you could have guessed that. But you have never been convinced until now that your hypothesis is the truth, have you?"
"Oh yes!" William recalled for a moment and said excitedly, "I still remember clearly asking myself why there were objects out there that didn't belong to that universe. Now, I understand. It was Dad's way of hiding his secrets."
"Ha ha, not hiding. It just goes to show that the universe is virtual."
"No. I did not discover the secrets then, nor could I. If I had found out, it would not be hiding, so I don't think I used the wrong words." William laughed.
"Well, you've got a point there. In addition, Dad was worried about your lack of confidence, William," Said the robot, "so he decided to use the mind detector to help you in combat with the fighter. But you were able to do it faster than relying entirely on your mind detector, which Dad didn't expect. It seems that Mr Handel really encouraged you a great deal with those words."
The words rang in William's ears again as if he had just heard them.
"Yes, it means a lot to me." He nodded thoughtfully, "It is my source of spiritual strength. I don't know if I would have made it back alive if I hadn't met Mr Handel and heard those words. So I am very grateful to Dad for designing Mr Handel for me. I wouldn't fail to meet Mr Handel for all my gold."
"Well, now you've come safely back." The robot smiled, and so did William. The moist, sweet air hung around them, reddened by the afterglow of the mother star. Below them, the rainbow bridge still stood like a giant facing the darkening sky.
"You can choose to go back now, or you can choose to spend the night here." The robot said, "Do you want to go back to your undersea villa on α-3665D and meet Larry the lamp again?"
"You bet!" William danced with excitement. He could even jump if he was not suspended in the air.
"Then we must hurry, to save you time. You start school in a week, so the sooner you get back the sooner you'll adjust the state."
"I don't really need to adjust." Said William naughtily.
"Nonsense." Laughed the robot. So did William.
So they spent another ten minutes on the rainbow bridge looking at the twinkling stars, then flew down and joined the others. William introduced the flying robot to everyone else.
"Let's play a game here before we go, Master." Said Rebecca. William wondered what kind of game it was.
The others were in a circle, holding William among them. Then they threw him up as hard as they could and shouted, "William is going home!" When he fell through the air, they caught him firmly. William laughed, feeling the gravity of the planet.
They put an end to this game. "William is going home!" They said happily, their voices echoing in the night sky.

TRX's Adventures
Set during the 1980s, it narrates the daily life of Mathias, a boy with "psychic powers", and his friends, which ends when something happens that changes the course of our protagonist's life. ... This is titled this way because some letters of the characters' names form the TRX of the title... Although there is one character who literally has that name, it is also named after her. Ah, and if some parts sounds a bit weird because of some words, tell me. This also contains some simple drawings made by me. This is going to have a lot of edits, apparently.... And maybe I'll add a couple of stuff. I'll try to make this be good... Or, at least, fun. ... Also, the older version will stay, but it kind of spoils the plot (although it changed in many ways), so if you want to read it before this... Do it at your own risk.
