《Runecrafter》Chapter 06

Baek Hyeon found himself standing before a council, full of faceless people looking down on him, the only thing these people had was an outline of their bodies, and the difference between one and another was only the color of their outlines. Baek Hyeon looked down at his hands and realized that he himself was also only a white outline. At this moment one member of the council that had their outline red spoke.
“”Impressive! Being able to advance your rune to tier two before maxing out its level, why don't you become my apostle on Earth?” Baek Hyeon didn’t understand most of what was said to him, but he couldn't help but feel uncomfortable from the way he was being talked down to, but before he could refuse another outline spoke.
“Hey what do you mean ****, I have had my eyes on him since his world tutorial started and you think you can just cut in line?” The person who spoke also had a white outline but it seemed different from Baek Hyeon's own white, if he had to put into words it looked more ‘windy’.
“So what if you found him first? You should have also seen, the kid is more fit to be a warrior but you want him to be a messenger?” The red outline scoffed.
“So what you are saying is that you don’t need me anymore and that you will start to get the shit you order yourself?”
“Hey, hey, when did I say that? Don’t make this personal, there are still several worlds from the new galaxy going through the tutorial, you can find a courier apprentice there.”
“It’s the kid’s choice in the end, anyway, he’s waking up soon.” A purple outline interrupted the bickering of the outlines and said.
“Damn it, you guys took all the time we had, the rest of us didn’t even introduce ourselves, Hey kid! my name is *****” Baek Hyeon could not get more confused than he already was, he was having a headache already, thinking about it, his whole body was in pain. Oh I'm awake.

The first thing he noticed, besides the pain, is that Diego was carrying him like a shoulder bag. At least it isn’t a princess carry, I’ll read my notifications before letting him know I'm awake, I don’t feel like walking just yet.

What the fuck!? I have a total of 18 gods on pay per view. Am I a kind of bigshot? No I can't look at it that way, I'm probably not the only one on earth with this much attention, Michael Becking has a whole pantheon backing him, and if I got 16+ attributes as a greeting Michael Becking must have earned at least double that. But wait, doesn’t this mean that no one can be successful on their own in this new world? Damn this sucks, but I don’t feel like accepting any of these people, well, maybe the ‘Godly Mailman’, he looks nicer.
Baek Hyeon confirmed his thoughts on the matter and checked his status window.

After his class rune became tier 2 his main stats gave a whooping 12+ at level six, even though he didn’t quite know what means to achieve tier 2 Baek Hyeon was happy nonetheless. That coupled with all the blessings gave him the hope that he could contend with the uncommon classes or even the rare ones, at least before those classes tiered up too. ‘I must be at least in the top 3 from the station, or at least I hope so’.
Another thing brought about by the tier 2 class was the talent ‘Atributless mana T1’, Baek Hyeon guessed that he earned it after being able to use his own mana, but a doubt he had was if atributless was the normal mana or if being atributless was the attribute itself his mana had. ‘I need to ask Kim Ji-Ho if her mana has an attribute or not later’.
While thinking about this matter Baek Hyeon didn’t even realize when the group arrived at the station. Diego laid him down on the floor and went screaming for the healer.
Soon Diego came back dragging by the hand a cute redhead girl with freckles on her face, as soon as the girl saw the state of Baek Hyeon arms she screamed and covered her mouth in fright. ‘I must be her first patient, or at least the most serious one, but despite how bad it looks and feels I don’t think I’m in fatal danger’. Baek Hyeon though with his eyes still closed, he came this far pretending to be asleep there was no need to wake up now.
“Sorry for losing my composure, you must be a very good friend to brave danger and bring him back!” The healer girl felt very awkward saying this, and it made Baek Hyeon who was still faking being out cringe a little
“Oh…Haha, i'm not that great, i think it's you who stays behind to help everyone that deserves praise haha.” Baek Hyeon felt like waking up right now. ‘Why the fuck are you guys flirting like soap opera characters over my mangled body? Diego is weird, I already expected this from him but another one!? Heal me please!’ Baek Hyeon gave a very natural painful moan to bring the attention back to him.
“Oh sorry, i’ll heal your friend now”
Baek Hyeon felt a refreshing feeling, and through his eyelids he saw a green light, but the pain didn’t go away.
“The injury he suffered must be heavy, I’ll try using heal again”
This time Baek Hyeon felt a little better, but that was all.
“What did he do to get his arms like this? If he came back dead, healing his body back to health wouldn't be as difficult” The healer girl started pouring mana into her heal to the point that her face was almost as red as her hair.
It needed five minutes and several casts of heal to bring Baek Hyeon arms to health.
“*huff huff* That was tiring, i even got a level up just from healing him, but that's odd, he should have woken up by now”
‘Oh yeah, I forgot to stop faking being passed out.’ Baek Hyeon gave a light cough and made his eyelids flutter a little before very slowly opening his eyes.
“Hyungnim, you are awake! You gave me a fright when you just went *Swing* and the goblins went *Boom* and then you just fell with your arms all bloodied, don’t do that again okay?”

The False Paladin
Divine Paladins, a title given to those who were blessed with the Lord's Favor, are the pillars of the kingdom of Calorin. However, a kingdom cannot simply be built from ideals of honor and duty. Sir Roel, the 58th Divine Paladin, knows that he's no hero. His sword is fake, his actual powers are middling, and his thoughts grow more cynical with every passing day. Upon receiving his next task, an order to assassinate a member of royalty, he wonders if the only thing he can do is bow his head and obey. Set in a medieval-era world in which brute strength is often subordinate to the schemes and machinations of the ruling class, this is a low fantasy story about a hero who struggles not only against monsters but also the idea that he's supposed to be the one fighting them. This fiction updates once to twice a week and each chapter is a minimum of 1000 words.
