In the meantime, I when to ask my dad for my $4,000 he to give me so I could buy a car. He gives me the money with great reluctance and even drove me to the car salesman place but left me there after telling me what cars to pick from because he had to go to work.
After looking at all the cars I choose to buy the 2019 BMW 7, I choose to get that car because of its high tech capabilities and that smooth black paint. Blistering horsepower from powerful engine options? Check. Genteel road manners and a refined ride? Check. A fuel-efficient hybrid? Check. A blissful interior, abundant features, lavish rear-seat space, and a large trunk? Check, check, check, and check. It's expensive, but that's true of every car in this class. it cost $83,650 - $156,700 but I only had 4,000 from my dad and 4,000 from my job.

I was happy that with this skill I could make money fast and buy my car. I purchased gambling.
[Gambling skill purchased; 1,000,000 credits deducted.]
As soon as I bought the skill I realize I had no ride to go to the casino. So I ask the system if it could teleport me to a casino. It teleported me to one.
As soon as I entered the casino the ridiculous lights hit me, almost turning me blind. It was still dark outside but it was brighter than the day in here. I read that casinos had extravagant lights to mess with the biological clocks of players. Casinos naturally have no clocks so that players do not notice the passing of time. Casinos win by keeping players playing; that is simply the way odds work.
I first changed out the cash for chips and headed to the blackjack table. I picked blackjack because I can use my ridiculous intelligence to win. Blackjack is a fairly simple game; you have to try to get cards that add up to 21 without going over the limit. The player or dealer with the closest sum wins.

I entered a game cautiously. The cards were passed around and I got a pair of nine's which meant I was pretty close to 21. I doubled down, taking up the gamble. There were two other players; one of them passed and the other also doubled down. The cards were turned over and I won the first round. As the rounds went on, I kept winning nearly 90% of the time. As time when on I turn my 8,000 to 80,000. I felt like it was getting tense so I left the table.
I verified that the gambling skill really worked. I could look at a slot machine and tell how many more turns until it would pay out. I went over to a machine that his miraculous intuition told I was going to pay out soon.
This was going to be my last test; if this skill could really tell me when the machine was going to payout then I would know this skill was the real deal; I could make a fortune gambling.
"ching" I popped a coin in and turned the lever. It rolled and landed on mixed symbols; meaning I did not win anything. "Ching" I tried again.
"ping ping ping"
The slot machine hit a jackpot payout of $1,000,000. Fortunately, he was in a corner so it did not attract too much attention but I still noticed the manager marching towards me.
"Congratulations sir. Here is your ticket; please take it to the cash register to redeem your prize." The manager was clearly not happy about the jackpot and after sending Me away he had technicians brought over to check the machine for tampering. After a quick check-up, they declared the machine was untouched leaving the manager glancing at my retreating figure after I took my cash from the desk.

Maker of Fire
On a world where magic kept civilization firmly in the bronze age, the Gods dropped an accountant and a mining engineer to start a political and industrial revolution. They wanted enlightened governance and a fast track to the iron age. They got indoor plumbing, paper airplanes, a cranky queen, and one very grumpy prophet. Dramatis Personae Aylem was a bookkeeping student when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as the greatest mage ever known, born into the ruling class of gigantic, magic-wielding humans. The Gods expect her to conquer the world and introduce double-entry accounting. Though Queen and numerical reformer, world conquest is stalled because everyone is scared of her and she doesn't like war. Emily was a retired engineer when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as one of the enslaved class of small, magicless humans. The Gods expect her to drag the world out of the bronze age. Though she's already recreated matches and wrought iron, introducing technology isn't going well because she was born a slave (oops) and having escaped, wants nothing to do with so-called "civilization." Asgotl was a whale when he died. The Gods reincarnated him as a griffin and expect him to have the same role he played in his previous life: to keep a reluctant prophet from walking off the job. If only they had remembered to tell him about it. Revised update schedule will be once a week on Saturdays, noonish Mountain Time (in North America)

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
