《Second Chance》mutantur fatum-6: Azara's wonder-1

Edlic's POV
We're talking a step on the transparent golden platform that crosses over the canal to the Azara.
It's hard as stone.
But, It's weird that every step we take doesn't make any sound.
Now that we're over the gigantic canal, making our way to the other side, I'm amazed at just how deep the water is.
If I were to fall into the water, there's no going back for me.
"Huh? Why wide-eyed? Something caught your interest?"
Dayne's looking back, grinning slightly.
I quickly returned to my usual blank face.
"It's just the canal is so deep."
With a sideways glance, I peak below the Scera.
"Well, I guess that you never experience any of this outside of your castle, Ed?"
She raises an eyebrow, turning a grin into a smirk.
"I guess taking you to Azara is not a bad idea after all."
"Hah, you know, I may not have the freedom you get, but one thing I have and you don't is knowledge."
Oops, my tongue slipped.
Honestly, I hate seeing her smirking. It's making me frustrated.
Especially when it's from a kid, making it worse, ten times.
Upon hearing my response, she stops, turning back.
W-What with that dirty look?
"Knowledge? You think that I'm stupid, blondie?"
She bursts, throwing me a dirty look.
"I've been refraining myself from murdering you ever since that selfish request of your."
She moves closer, cracking her knuckle.
"And every time I call you an Eskadian prince, I felt like my dignity vanish by every time."
I take a step back, staying away from the approaching beast.
"A-Well, you did question me about my identity, and I proved to you."
I remained my natural expression, trying not to fuel her anger anymore.
"Nothing else to say? Then I'll proceed to a beating part."
She curves her hand in the air, swinging at me at high velocity.
*Sfx-hit*
I blocked the hit with my arm.
"...'
I raise an eyebrow, surprised.
Well, that's not even hurt.
I glazed over her, thinking to myself.
'What do I expect from a kid? The abnormal strength of a beast?'
"Ya! Ya! Ya!"
She continues to punch me while I'm blocking it effortlessly.
It's starting to sting now.
I use my other hand and flicking my finger on her forehead.
"Ah, Ouch!"
She winces and staggering backward.
She's covering her forehead with her hands, glaring at me with her onyx eyes.
"Such, disgraceful act, you-"
"Ha?"
She stops, seeing my expression, explaining itself.
With a slight red painted on her cheeks, she's turning around and stride away.
"Cursed you, blondie!"
In this world, this is my first time flicking Dayne's forehead.
IT'S FEEL SO ODDY SATISFYING!

I wish I've done this sooner to shut that girl up.
It's effective against the like of her.
"Y-Your highness?"
George asks me, confusedness mixed in his concerning eyes.

Upon reaching the other end, I widen my eyes at the view.
A Street filled with peoples so many that every stall is crowded, selling their goods to the passerby.
Dayne approaches my side.
"It's almost Ja'habar day, so peoples come out to buy things, preparing for the festival."
Dayne explains as she walks around back and forth.
"In case you don't know, The Ja'habar will be starting on 27th Arabel."
"It's a festival for everyone, to drain the canal, cleaning it. "
She continues, expressing the proudness of her beloved nation.
"Draining the canal? That large?"
I ask, genuinely surprised.
"Yes, it takes about a week before we can use the canal again."
She said, looking over to one particular stall.
I followed her gaze, taking me to a stall with a main, clanking the shaft, rotating the rod that skewered a fish over the flame.
Then, switching to Dayne, looking at her drooling face.
I smirk, thinking of something fun.
"Woah, what's that smell? It's so aromatic."
I try to get her interest by bringing this conversation up.
"H-Huh? Did you smell it too?"
She wipes her mouth with her sleeve, turning to me with sparkling eyes.
"Y-Yes. There should be a food stall nearby, right?"
Well, her reaction is straight forward for someone hungry.
"Yes, yes, yes! There it's is!'
She points to the particular fish stall, taking my other hand and pulling me with a slight force.
"W-Wait, are we going there?"
I ask, not actually wanting to go there.
"Why not?"
I decide not to put up the resistance and go along the flow.
"Come, come!"
"Delicious roasted boneless fish, caught over the Watria, fresh and clean!"
The stall keeper said, waving a small fan, blowing the wind into the flame.
"Oh, do you want one, young ones?"
He notices our presence and greets us with a warm smile.
"Yes, yes, yes! Two serving please, mister!"
Dayne impatiently ordered the food, making the stall keeper smile even more.
"Okay, young lady, two serving coming right up!"
He takes three of the fishes, taking the rod off and warping it in a neat white paper.
"Huh? Mister, why three fishes?"
She asks as she's taking the package from the stall keeper.
He chuckles.
"Your friend seems to be a foreigner. So please, treat them well."
He's talking about George and me.
"Tha-"
I was about the thanks to stalling keeper for his kindness, but the girl hands the package to me, preventing me from finishing the sentence.

"Yes, this boy is a 'friend' of mine, mister."
"And this man, he's our friendly bother who help us getting our things for the Ja'habar."
She half-lied to the keeper.
I was not her friend! And will never, never in this lifetime.
"Y-Your h-"
"Hahaha, here are the coins, thanks!"
Without sparing any moment, she drags me away into the crowds, leaving George in the smoke.
"Mister, are you their guardian?"
I heard the stall keeper asking Geoge as he's looking at me for help.
I nod, signaling him.
"Y-Yes..."
"She does not pay due, so you'll need to cover the remaining payment, mister."

"It's so delicious. Can I have your?"
She said, munching on the boneless fish, stuffing her mouth full.
"Yes..."
I hand her the package while my face goes blank.
Earlier, George didn't bring any money with him, and neither do I.
So George has to do a long-explanation to the stall keeper, but, in the end, he lets us go out of kindness.
Right now, we're walking along the street with many dye and flag selling stalls.
Until one particular stall caught my interest, selling a tube filled with five-colored power.
I nudge Dayne by her arm.
"What's those things?"
I ask, pointing to the stall.
Dayne raises her eyes brows, swallowing the treat.
"Ahem, It's called Magic sight."
"A kid plaything."
She explained, tilting her head slightly.
"Why do you ask, are you interested?"
So It's called Magic sight? That awfully looks like a Malum.
"Can you go and get one for me?"
I ask her, even though in my mind, tell me not to, but I have no choice.
I've got no money, but this girl has but is not willing to pay.
What a horrible princess.
"hehe, what with that cheerless face?"
She blinks with a smirk.
Please, Edlic, bear with it!
I tighten my knuckle and exhales.
"Please?"
"Huh?"
Dayne wipes her eyes and slaps her cheeks lightly two times.
"Am I hearing a thing or, blondie really said 'please'?"
She's making a quizzical face, looking at me.
If you keep looking, I'll release this knuckle and hit you, Dayne.
"Please, I want to try something."
I say through my gritting teeth.
As if she get hypnosis, she stands up and goes to the stall, buying the said item.
I'm waiting patiently for her arrival.
While waiting, I observe my surrounding. Peoples here don't dress in white. They dress in light and colorful clothing.
Also, peoples tend to glance at George since he's wearing a Shalese royal guard uniform.
They do not expect a royal guard to roam around here inside the market place.
Since the usual guard uniform is olive green, accompanied by a short sword and a leather cloth armor over their chest.
"Hey, George Bell."
I ask Georg, who's standing beside me.
"Y-yes, your highness?"
He whispered.
"What's do you think about Eion?"
I say, my eyes etched at the Magical sight stall.
"About Eion? "
"Umm... It's is my first time traveling outside of Eskarnda."
He looks at me with his eyes filled with excitement.
"I think that both countries are similar in many ways."
"From the bustling street filled with people to the liveliness of the city, make the two relatable."
"But, seeing Eion's wonder such as the Solaris clypeus, one of a kind architecture, make me admired the Shalese, your highness."
"Solaris clypeus?"
I ask, raised an eyebrow.
"It's the dome-shaped structure in the center of Eion. It's called
Solaris clypeus, a solar shield."
I turn, looking at him.
"How do you know this?"
George's scratching the back of his head, laughing nervously.
"The captain told me."
"He told me about his time in Eion when we're traveling here."
So that's how it was.
After a moment, Dayne returns with a tube of Magical sight.
"Here you go, blondie, remember to pay me back four coins."
I nod, taking the tube, inspecting it closely.
It's glittering blue, green, purple, brown, and red.
"How do I use it? Is it's for use or just a cosmetic?'
I ask her, holding the tube.
"You dumb!"
She yells whispered.
"Here, open the cap this side, pour some on your hand, and rub it over your eyes to apply the Magical sight."
She does it to me as she explains.
After a while, the five colors started to appear before my eyes.
I look around in astonishment.
I see the green flowing like wind over us, carrying the slight of the blue and brown dots in it.
I look over to the stall beside, seeing the radiant red shining bright as the fire burn bright, heating the food in the pot.
Is this give me the ability to perceive elements?
H-How?
"You look like a baby who's got his toy, blondie."
"Your jaw will hit the ground if you keep dropping it like that."
I ignore her and continue to look around.
W-What is that?
Bright purple, it's pulsating, as if it's calling for me.
It's drained all the color of its surrounding, making it stand out the most.
Instinctively, I ran there in curiosity.
I follow the trail it's lead.
"H-Hey! Where are you going!"
"Y-Your highness! "
"What are you standing for? Go, let's follow him!"

The Wild Touch
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day. Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy. The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban. And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting. Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints. The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters. The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.
