《Transmigrated to become Hero's Aid》Chapter-6: Let's not start a prologue with Tragedy (2)

'Our lord hero is finally here.' Lucas almost shouted in happiness with his thought as he didn't have to go through any trouble to find this hero of the novel.
Looking at the rugged boy, the future hero, who was now being pointed up with a sharp tip of Edwin sword, Lucas felt sorry. Imagine being transported to another world out of nowhere and went through a wave of demons' rampage, not so long after the arrival, and now being pointed by a sword whose owner was looking at him with a deathly glare while running for his life, that would be so depressing that Lucas immediately reminded his brother.
"He is just a civilian, brother! Put down your sword!"
"Oh right, I am sorry." Edwin also realized his fault, well not his fault as everyone would be as alert as him in such kind of situation. "Come here, buddy. It is not so safe to stand at the entrance."
The boy sighed in relief, knowing that he was no longer in the danger of his throat being slashed by a sword. He immediately went towards Edwin's side as he also knew what dangers were surrounding on the outside. He almost cursed his life for making him face such unexpected, ridiculous and dangerous situations.
"Thanks. Umm..... can I know where this is and..... w...what is happening here?" The boy asked in a timid tone while walking towards Edwin and Lucas quickly.
Edwin seemed dumbfounded by his question, thinking what the heck was wrong with this newcomer. It was really impossible for someone, especially someone of his age, didn't know the name of the city he lived in. 'Is he a traveler?' He thought. His clothing was strange, too. But that was also impossible for a traveler not to know the name of this city as he would have to cross a gate to enter Evandall and would be welcomed with 'Welcome to the Evandall' voice by the gatekeeper. Actually it was already rare to find someone who didn't know this city when the city was relatively famous. 'Did he lose his memory while running?'
"You are in the Evandall city of Rudia kingdom and there were monsters attacking the city at this moment. We are also hiding to avoid the monsters." Lucas filled in Ryosuke with answers as Edwin was just looking at the youth with an unbelievable look.
"Huh....?" There was a confusing look on Ryosuke's face. 'Evandall? Rudia? I haven't heard of this city and country before....!? And what do you mean by monsters!?' thought Ryosuke, still couldn't believe the fact that he could get transported to another place while walking peacefully on his way to school. Another thought popped up which Ryosuke whispered unconsciously.
"Am I going to... d...die?" Ryosuke wanted to cry. He didn't even want to look outside to see the monsters that the young boy in his front stated.
Edwin wanted to rest assure the boy not to worry because reinforcements would be here within a few minutes as Maria was already on her way to capital but he didn't had the chance to do so as he spotted something through the house window and immediately realized it was a listarian, a monster which looked like a green-skinned lizard with a muscle body, a little bit over the average height of a human, holding up an axe, finding his targets sharply with his yellow eyes which had a great eyesight.
He could kill this monster easily but he was worried that it might attract other monsters which would make him engage in battle. If he was in battle, who was going to look after Lucas? Who was going to ensure the safety of his little brother? He looked back to his brother, who also seemed to notice that damn monster and the strange rugged newcomer with the black hair.

"Hush... and follow me." Edwin whispered and held Lucas's small hands tightly and led them towards the backdoor of the house, keeping the noise as low as possible.
Lucas immediately knew the situations and he followed his brother's lead, making sure that Ryosuke was following them. But then he noticed a presence entering the house which made him look back with his eyes filled with worries.
"Brother! Watch out!"
A shout to alert his brother was released. Lucas was pushed aside roughly by his brother who now defended against the big axe of the listarian. Despite their carefulness, the listarian still noticed them and immediately entered the house, swinging his big axe whose sharpness looked like a man's head would have to say bye to his body with one slash from this axe, towards them. It seemed to be enjoying itself to see two boys with pitch black hair.
"Lucas, stay away! Newcomer, watch over Lucas!" Edwin said in a hurry while pushing back the axe of the listarian. Ryosuke also seemed to get the message that Edwin sent as he held Lucas's hand and stepped back away to the backdoor, preparing to flee from the house in case the situation got worse.
Lucas felt anxious seeing his brother fighting. He knew that his brother was a strong swordsman but still couldn't help but to worry. The plot he read was the plot that killed Maria who was an Evandall. Now, Maria's death flag was put down, there was no telling that Edwin would not die in her stead since there were many cases that happened because of the death of an Evandall.
He concentrated in the flow of mana and activated his healing magic, and watched his brother closely, making himself ready to support his brother when necessary. But to his relief, Edwin didn't seem to need Lucas' help. As he effortlessly dodged the attacks of the listarian, Edwin fused his sword with his mana, kicked the belly of the listarian to make it off-balanced.
He then leaped towards the listarian which was thrown backwards, slashed its neck which made disgusting green blood gush out from the wound and the body flopped down to death. Lucas was happy to see his brother safe. But just in case he ran to Edwin, leaving Ryosuke who was in awe behind.
"Brother, are you alright!?"
Although Edwin won the fight easily, there were still scratches on some parts of his body. Lucas, of course, activated his first-cycle healing magic, which was used to heal minor injuries, on Edwin, making him surprised as it was really rare for children like Lucas used magic easily, although it was just the easiest one. Every scratch that Edwin had lit up in a faint green glow with some while sparkles and closed up like there was no scratch in the first place.
"Thanks, Lucas. It's enough." Edwin stopped Lucas because he was worried that it might tire his younger brother. "Let's move to another place because it is not safe here, now."
Lucas just smiled and ended his magic, knowing it was ok for now. He then nodded to his brother's suggestion and also called Ryosuke who still couldn't believe his eyes seeing such magic and stuff.
"Big bro, we are going to go to a safe place, so will you follow us?"
Ryosuke came back to his senses only after Lucas's call. He, then, nodded vigorously because he believed that it would be the safest to stay with these brothers.
The scenery of a severe battle welcomed them as the trio went out of the house that they were hiding. They could still see some people running in terror, here and there and a large number of monsters chasing the people.

"Why are the reinforcements not coming yet!" Edwin exclaimed nervously.
Lucas also looked at the scenery in panic. 'Did Maria make a mistake in her teleportation magic and got to the wrong place?' He couldn't help but worry. 'Will the reinforcements come only after one death from his family?'
Not long before they got out of the house, Edwin had to use his sword again as the monsters of different races came towards them in fury.
'Oh shit.... They found Ryosuke!!'
Lucas knew the key to this happening. He didn't know what to do next. Just run away with Ryosuke? But he couldn't leave his brother alone as there might be a death flag for a member of Evandall. His brother was still fighting with all he had to the monster group. Although Edwin could overpower them in 1Vs1 fight, the numbers were unbalanced.
"Take Lucas and run!" Edwin shouted to Ryosuke as he knew the area was going to attract more monsters later. Ryosuke also knew this and immediately picked up Lucas and ran to where his feet led him.
"Hey, put me down! My brother is still there!" screamed Lucas. Although Lucas struggled with all he had, he wasn't still able to make himself free from Ryosuke's grip. 'Where did this strength come from!? The main character had a strength cheat!!?'
"What are you going to do if I put you down? You are still a child and you can't fight those monsters!" Ryosuke cried in hurry, wishing that he would not meet other monsters on his way.
Lucas felt frustrated for himself. Ryosuke was right. He couldn't do the fighting. All he could do was to heal minor injuries. He felt angry for his uselessness.
A minotaur stood in their way, which made them stunned in fear. Lucas' worries were doubled as he could not find out how to flee from these situations as both of them couldn't fight. Lucas looked up to Ryosuke's face and he saw that his eyes were also in terror. Ryosuke instantly turned back and ran but...
SLASH!
Lucas widened his eyes as the minotaur leaped towards them in a second and tore the back of Ryosuke which made him scream in pain and fell down. A lot of blood scattered over the area and Lucas was stunned. He couldn't phrase what happened currently while he also fell down on the ground together with Ryosuke. All he could see was the minotaur preparing for another strike raising his axe.
Luckily, a knight from his household came into rescue, stabbing the minotaur from behind, making the beast stutter and lost interest in the pair.
"Hey kid! Don't just look! Get up and run away!" The knight shouted in panic. It seemed that he didn't realize who Lucas was.
Lucas sat up and gazed at Ryosuke, whose back was in a severe shape which was soaked in dark red blood. Ryosuke was already fainted from pain and blood loss.
Despite the knight telling him to run, Lucas only paid attention to Ryosuke's wound. One thought was ringing in his head again and again, despite the situations.
'Is he going to die?' The last thing he wanted was the death of Ryosuke. He didn't know what would happen to this world if Ryosuke didn't exist anymore. The wound looked so serious and Ryosuke seemed like he might die just from blood loss.
Without thinking much, Lucas immediately casted second cycle healing magic although this magic caused a strain on his body as it was not supposed to use this in his age. Lucas still could endure it, though, because his mana capability was larger than other normal healers. The wound lit up in the faint green glow and the blood flow began to slow down but it didn't completely heal the wound and Ryosuke was stilling looking like a corspe.
'This is not enough.....' Lucas thought nervously. Ryosuke's face was already in a pale complexion because of the exerted blood loss since the wound was really deep. Lucas decided to cast another stage in order to ensure Ryosuke's life. He didn't know if he could try the third cycle one but he had no choice.
Drops of sweat continued to form on Lucas's forehead. His breathing also became rougher and rougher but the speed of his healing magic increased. He wanted to stop casting the magic but he had no choice but to continue. The wound closed up within a few seconds and the color was also returning to Ryosuke's face. Lucas then stopped his healing magic when Ryosuke's eyes began to open slowly.
"H..... how are you feeling, big brother....?" Lucas said slowly as he was having trouble breathing. As he had expected, trying the third cycle magic was no good as it made him depleted of his mana. His head was also suffering from a tension headache which made it difficult to remain focused.
"I..... I feel ok.....?"
Lucas sighed in relief when he knew the main character was safe for now. But now he still had to worry whether they would survive the next attack or not. The knight that helped them was still in the middle of attacking the minotaur. His condition didn't look good either. However, his worries didn't last when he heard the shout that he had been longing for a long time.
"The reinforcements from the capital are here!"
Lucas could see the knights rushing into the city, killing the monsters at a fast rate, recusing the citizens from the danger of monsters. 'Finally! They are here!' He thought in joy. With this, he could relax, right? They are safe now, right?
As Lucas relaxed himself, his legs gave out and he fell over to the ground, only to be caught by Ryosuke.
"Hey, what's wrong!?" Ryosuke asked nervously, not knowing what to do.
Lucas didn't have any energy to reply back. His headache was getting worse and he felt his heart struggle to beat, and his eyes started to blur. He could hear the worried voice of his brother, Edwin from afar.
Lucas couldn't help but to smile. Both Edwin and Maria didn't die and Ryosuke was also alive. The reinforcements were also here. The prologue didn't bring tragedy to Evandall's family as it was supposed to. With such a happy thought, Lucas finally closed his eyes and fell into unconsciousness.
