*Slash*
*Crack*
"Huh? I'm alive?" he thought he was a dead man. But just as the swordsman Skeleton swung its weapon, a broad great-sword cut its whole body clean in half. And although Roy was ecstatic, he still had to remain calm right now.
There was a muscular man in front of him. He was probably a Dener guard that had come to save Roy. Right as he thought this, another swing came. This one fell upon the claw slasher. *Crack* it died in an instant, leaving only the whip using Skeleton left.
*rattle rattle*
The Skeleton was now afraid. If it died like this, then all of its comrades died for nothing. Thousands upon thousands of them were killed at the hands of this human. Yet, now it too would die here? No! It refused to believe this! It was a Rare Skeleton after all! It attacked the new human with all of its might, but its whip was cut in half easily. The force behind the sword that cut it was so strong that the slight pull it made on the weapon still tore its arm's bones off.
All of its efforts were futile. The town guard didn't want to waste any more time, choosing to end this with one of his Skills.
*whoosh* the guard's sword cut its head clean off...
"*phew* That was a close one. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner, I came as soon as I noticed a disturbance,"
*pant pant*
"Are you ok?" The man asked.
"Yeah, *pant pant*, thank you. I-I *ehhh* I would have died."
"No problem. Glad to help. Hey... why were there three Rares here? I thought that there were only uncommon and common in these fields?" The man asked, feeling a little confused. There were large oval grass fields around Dener town, and they were populated with thousands of Skeleton Monsters. Some parts were even packed with them. But Rare-ranked or higher didn't spawn unless there were special circumstances. "There's also no other bone-heads around here, so what happened?"
"*pant* just, ehhh, wait a minute." Roy had to calm down first. He was fighting thousands of monsters before, and had even been 'fighting' with 3 Rare ones for more than half a minute. He was completely exhausted.

Right after catching his breath, he started spewing out the story. "So first I wanted to grind some bones for a quest /.../ and apparently killed all of them in the fields so the high-ranking spawned /.../ and finally you came and killed them." he explained. He told the guard everything truthfully, mostly because he didn't want to get in trouble and, of course, not lie to the person who saved him.
"??? You killed every bone around here? Why did you do that? I mean, you said why, but still. Didn't you know it could trigger an event? You almost died right now. Jeez man, you almost lost your life."
''Jeez'? Is he not a-' Roy thought to himself. "Aren't you a town guard?"
The man chuckled "Haha, no. I'm just an adventurer who traveled here for something. I may be the strongest person present, if we don't count some of the Humans stationed here." This somewhat surprised Roy. He met an adventurer here, and a strong one at that. "Could you already be Tier 1?"
"What? A Tier 1, you must be joking. I'm tier 1.5, you shouldn't underestimate anyone kid." he paused... "Here's a friendly tip, always expect the worst case scenario. Even if someone looks weak, you should still act as though they are stronger than you. In this case, I'm friendly, but if you act the same about a Monster, you could easily lose your life." The man said proudly, as if it wasn't common knowledge to modern adventurers...
Roy didn't like the saying 'tier 1.5', because it would suggest there is that Tier. Some people would call someone that when they could become Tier 2, but didn't because of some reason or another. He still felt a little guilty because of 'offending' him, even though he meant it as a compliment.
"What's your name? You saved me, so I'll treat you a meal, if you want." Roy offered.
"Henry Kline, glad to meet you. And I would love to have a meal." Henry said with a hearty laugh. He seemed friendly, so Roy was glad that he could repay the favor at least a little bit.

Although Roy got some messages for the deaths of the Rare Skeletons, he didn't check them. Repaying Henry was his current priority.
They went to Pint Restaurant. It was a 2 star restaurant, so it cost a little more than it normally would to have a meal in a town, but Roy still suggested it. They went inside and saw how crowded it was, but luckily found a spot on the second floor. Roy and Henry both order steak with mashed potatoes and some rice. Henry also got beer, while Roy just drank some tap water.
They ate and chatted for more than an hour and got closer to each other. Roy added Henry onto his Friends List, Henry doing the same. His username was 'Good Man 40'. He was 26 years old, and Level 51. He came to this town for some quest, not because this was his area of operation. Henry was a nice man with a fluffy beard, and from his stories Roy found out that he always helps out people in trouble. It was his policy, his way of operating. He was also sociably awkward and shy, at least that's what he said... When he found out there were really strong Monsters in such a low-level area chasing Roy, he quickly ran to him to help him.
Roy wanted to meet him again soon, but Henry had to depart. Maybe they could meet somewhere else, when Roy got stronger and left this region. Before Henry left, he said "Hey, I got 5 Rare Bones earlier, and I think you should have them. It was you, after all, that killed the rest of the Skeleton." Roy wanted to refuse, but Henry insisted, saying that these weren't that valuable to him anyway. Only after a while had Roy caved in. Roy thought he truly was a... good man.
After Henry left, Roy checked his messages.
[Special Quest: Saving Dener Town - Complete
The immediate vicinity around Dener Town is no longer populated by Skeleton Monsters.
100 GC
Title got: Dener Savior]
'?! 100 Gold Coins, that's amazing! And a title... still think Henry should have gotten it... Never mind, I'll just check it out.'
[Title: Dener Savior
People in Dener will respect you and be thankful of your deeds. You also get certain access in Dener that normally isn't available at that Reputation.]
"Enable!" he shouted, startling the nearby people...
'Cool, I will be respected, and get access to special places!' he thought to himself joyfully. If he would be respected by Town Nobles, he could probably get in contact with them. Then he would have an easier time buying and selling things, getting jobs and quests, not to mention a possible way of getting in contact with higher-ranked nobles.
"But now, I should complete the Skeleton Extermination Quest" he said as he departed from the restaurant and started heading to the town hall.
There he found a pretty receptionist, and told her about completing his quest. When he handed over the items, the receptionist girl was stunned. She was even so dazed, so she entered a (very light) weakened state! Overall Roy handed her 40 thousand Common. 500 Uncommon, and 5 Rare Skeleton Bones! Uncommon bones were about 50 times better in quality than Common. And Rare ones were 100 times better than even Uncommon.
So it was like he handed her over 65 thousand Common Bones, but even better! Because if you wanted to make good potions, you could refine 50 Common bones to get the quality of one Uncommon, or just get the one better bone. There would be less time spent, and almost the same money invested. The same went for Rare bones.
Only after awhile had she 'returned from the clouds' and thanked him for completing the quest.
"Um, the Skeleton Extermination Quest is a D rank quest, so you get 1.25 times the standard reward. Additionally, you completed it with a higher completion rate than SSL, so I need to get someone to further tell you about some things. Please wait a moment." Roy became confused, he completed a quest with a better rating than SSL? How could that be? Was it because of killing all those Monsters?
...
"Hello dear adventurer, I'm Daniel, the Dener Town Protector. Nice to meet you, 'savior'." Daniel said with a smile.
