“hmph why do I have to go with you.” Nie Chenyu said as she made a sulky face. She wanted to go out with her friends to the gathering but before she could go out the teacher had stopped them and said that everyone would be going in groups of 5 around the island. This was done so no one person was left out and was alone. Unfortunately for her she was the sixth person in her group and hence she got separated from her friends and had to join a random group.

“You can get lost if you want to”

“you!- don’t you know how to talk to girls.”

“I do, but I don’t how to talk with a gorilla”

She grinded her teeth in anger and gave a roundabout kick to the insulting part, but unfortunately for her, the ‘insulting party’ ducked and gave a sweep kick and made the girl fall. The guy then got up and left the girl on the ground. The girl seethed in anger and got up to follow her group while hatefully glaring at the guy.

Nie chenyu was pissed, her ‘punching bag’ had started fighting back, and worse she lost every time in a single move. She had already picked a fight 5 times with Zhang Fei when the groups were being set and each time she lost miserably, it was a good thing she had asked Zhang Fei to go to a secluded area before to have a ‘talk’ or else she wouldn’t have the courage to show her face to her classmates since she was a person who always boasted about her fighting skills and also she was the one who ended on the ground most of the time during her fights with zhang Fei…….okay maybe she lost every time but that’s beside the point.

“Fang Ning, don’t you think you are a bit harsh on Nie chenyu?” Yun long said to Zhang Fei in a low voice.

“Nope, not at all” Zhang Fei shrugged as he replied. This was his plan to make the girl submit before the night of the sacrifice so he of course he planned to make Nie Chenyu lose at every turn or else she would be a headache later on. It was a good thing that he ate the ancient strengthening pill as soon as he got his room. Coco had increased it absorption rate but its effect would suffer, although Flipping a car with one hand sounded good but that wouldn’t help if he was already dead by the time the pill was fully absorbed. So for the next four hours he had stayed in his room, his strength had improved enough to compete with an average person and according to coco when the pill was fully absorbed even with its reduced effectivity, his strength would still be equal to 5 adult men. The result was statisfactory to Zhang Fei since it saved him from his ass being handed to him by a girl.

“Wait till we get back, I am going to tell your mother how you bullied me.” Nie Chenyu came forward and started a verbal attack on Zhang Fei after finally confirming that she didn’t have a chance at him with her fists, but unfortunately for her, she settled most of her fights with her hard fists rather than talking, so she didn’t even know the basics of holding a verbal argument, her skill in this regard was even worse than a kindergarten student.

“Sure, go ahead.” Zhang Fei rolled his eyes at such a childish threat and replied in a nonchalant manner. Nie Chenyu was pissed when she saw her threat didn’t have any effect at all.

“Fine. I will…………………….….jerk”

“That’s a pathetic comeback you know.”

[ Wow way to go, bullying a girl with zero skills in argument] Coco being Coco didn’t want to waste an opportunity to insult and mock his host and hence offered a slight tinge of subtle mockery.

[….] well I guess this kind of thing can be a compliment for only people like him, wait………. are there are more people like him? Coco shivered when he thought about dealing with multiple Zhang Feis. He would rather ascend to cube heaven rather than having to deal with another Zhang Fei.

(-_-) Nie chenyu decided to shut up seeing how she had even failed against Zhang fei in verbal attacks. She then started wondering when Zhang Fei had changed so much, he seemed really…different. He remembered how he would cower in front of her and would do whatever she wanted him to do and how his skills in fighting were really pathetic, even last week he got thrashed by Yao Zhixing’s lackeys for trying to talk with An Zining .They might have forgotten about him already but she didn’t, since they were neighbours since childhood. She was curious, when did he change so much. Nie chenyu silently thought as she peeked at Zhang Fei from behind.

Zhang Fei was with Yun long, nie chenyu and 2 other random students as they headed towards the gathering. The seniors had booked a venue with great setting for the gathering. Although it was termed as a gathering it was more like a party with alcohol and drugs. They saw a lot of people moving around the town like area they were in that was just on the side of the island and it was only one of such areas. There were many more such places to accommodate the thousands of tourists that were coming to the island, even this was just a small extent of what the island was offering, a lot of the facilities were much deeper inside the island and so was the place where the official ceremony was going to be held.

“They sure did a lot of effort for a cover up”

[Well host, this isn’t just a coverup, but rather a bait, they wanted to lure in as many fish as possible]

“It’s going to be real chaotic due to this many people…….what a hassle”

[Host, don’t worry host this is a great opportunity for us, you see this island which connects this world to another realm is a land of death but it’s also something else]

“hmph,what? Is it also a gathering place for cultists?” Zhang Fei joked as he answered Coco.

[No actually you are very unlucky, If I had to say you are the most unluckiest person I have ever met for example if there are a billion people…]

“okay I get it, you don’t have to give examples” Zhang Fei said with an annoyed expression

[Okay then, be the oblivious unluckiest person rather than the unoblivious unluckiest person, although they both sound equally worse.]

Zhang Fei just rolled his eyes and asked another question. “Can’t I just kidnap the female lead and run away from the island.”

Coco scoffed. [No you can’t, have you ever heard of a protagonist running away from their own story? If she left, the story would be incomplete and the law of the world would start everything again. She has to see the dawn while staying on this island the whole night ‘alive’]

Zhang Fei shrugged his shoulders. Meh, was worth a try.

The group entered the building where the party was being held and one could already see the party was being conducted with full blast. Nie chenyu immediately separated from the group before giving Zhang Fei a farewell glare to which he just gave an equally mocking smile. The other two also left, they seemed to be a couple as they went to a secluded corner as they held their hands.

Yun long looked at them with envious eyes. “Man, I sometimes wonder if I am gonna die alone whenever I see couples like that.”

“yeah, you are right, you probably will die alone” Zhang Fei shattered yun long’s fagile hopes and dreams and delivered a critical hit.

“Hey come on, what kind of a friend are you? Aren’t you supposed to cheer me up and encourage me?”

“A realistic one I guess, but there is still a chance for you if you play your cards right.”

“ohoho it seems my bro here has a few tricks up his sleeve, mind sharing them” Yun long said with expectant eyes. Zhang Fei shrugged and then explained the ABCs of talking to girls and making them interested in you. Zhang fei had a lot of experience with woman, although there were never feelings involved he had slept with multiple women already, but as time passed even that seemed pointless so he stopped dealing with women altogether, but he didn’t mind guiding his fellow book enthusiast on the right path.

“That’s sounds really convincing but are you sure they will like me, I mean look at me?” Yun long was bullied at school for being fat so he had an inferiority complex about it and wasn’t so sure about his chances with girls.

“Relax, just do as I said and you won’t have a problem, and even if you do fail well the only thing you will be getting is a slap and loss of your non-existent dignity, so go out there and do your best.” Zhang Fei patted Yun longs back and pushed him forward.

“…” those aren’t encouraging words at all.

[host there is the female lead and the other group memebers] Coco pointed out to Zhang Fei who was also looking for the female lead. Zhang fei looked at the direction Coco was pointing and saw the female lead. She was surrounded by her friends and was talking with a smile on her face. She was a real femme fatale with a clear white skin, and sky blue eyes along with dark wavy hair. She was tall and had a good figure and had cute dimples as she talked to her friends with a smile, she had a well-proportioned face with luscious red lips and small cute nose. The guys around her seemed to be star struck with her as they looked at her with sparkles in their eyes. She seemed to be like a shining star among the other people. Zhang Fei squinted his eyes at the dazzling heroine who was shining so brilliantly.

“Damn, why is she so dazzling, is just me or does everything about her screams ‘I am the female lead.’ ”

[Yeah you right, I almost fried my optic circuits while looking at her. Hmm it seems that even though the female lead has lost her halo but she still has the side effects from it, like the looks, aura and-]

“You mean all the useless things”

[………………..yes] but at least she isn’t as weak as you. The female lead was from a long line of warriors and hence it had become a custom for the descendants to train in martial arts, so although the female lead looked fragile, she was someone with inhuman strength like the rest of her family members which was an effect of their unique bloodline. Although Coco knew she was very strong but he wasn’t sure if the loss of the female lead halo had affected her strength, although seeing that she died every time the story restarted, it seemed that it really did effect her strength.

Zhang Fei shook his head, if the female lead was going to lose her halo she should have lost that attractive aura as well, you could practically see how the guys were eyeing her, during the night of the sacrifice those looks and aura would surely lead to all kind of troubles since it would be a chaotic and lawless night.

Besides her was the male lead Chen Fei, he was just termed as the male lead and didn’t have the male lead halo, and was just there to act as a love interest for the female lead but for the sake of fitting in the story he had been given the skills of a survivalist and so was an important part of the team. He was also the typical righteous character of the story and also a maniac when it came to martial arts. He had short blonde hair and had blue eyes. Since he was the male lead he had also great looks

The third person was Nie Chenyu who Zhang Fei already knew, the person he was trying to reign in.

The fourth person of the group was Yao Zhixing, the typical bad boy of the group. He was from a military background and hence had been trained by his family from young age to join the military and excelled in many fighting styles. He also had a crush on the female lead and was also the rival for Chen Fei. He was the person whose lackeys beat the crap out of the original body for talking to the female lead. He had black hair that reached his neck and had dark black eyes. His looks also rivalled the main lead. If one was to compare their looks with the body Zhang Fei had been transmigrated to then he would be equivalent to a squid even though his looks were slightly above average.

Yao Zhixing was also someone like Nie chenyu with a troublesome personality and could cause problems for him but he was much easier to deal with than Nie Chenyu. Yao Zhixing admired and appreciated strength which was also one of the reason he was friends with the other main charachters besides knowing each other since childhood. I wonder if the author of this story writes xianxia novels as well. Zhang Fei thought seeing as everyone of the main characters knew how to fight and excelled in martial arts. Well atleast they won’t be totally useless.

Zhang Fei was sure he could handle Yao Zhixing, he just had to show that he wasn’t someone to be taken lightly and well the opportunity for that……seemed to have already arrived. Zhang Fei looked at the entrance saw the guy that was glaring at him in the bus, it had seem that he wanted to not only teach Zhang Fei a lesson but also break a few bones based on the number of people he came with.

[Host it seems that your entourage escorting you out of the building has arrived.] Coco excitedly said, he was hopeful for a good show that the host would provide and he would have a front seat row for it.

Zhang Fei smirked, “Well then let’s not keep them waiting.”

At the side of the female lead, yao Zhixing and Chen fei were arguing about their recent duel and win loss ratio and it seemed that a new fight between them would start any moment. An zining looked at them sighed while shaking her head, “when are you guys going to grow up? You have been arguing about this as long as I can remember.”

Yao Zhixing said while pointing at Chen Fei, “I will stop when this loser here admits I am better than him.”

Chen Fei gave a laugh , “ Sure as long as you have more wins till school ends, but the last time I remembered I had won 376 times while you had only won 375 times, hmm it seems I am wining doesn’t it?”

“Shut up, the last one doesn’t count.”

Both of them started glaring at each other again and visible sparks were flying from their glares. An zining sighed and smiled seeing how her two idiotic friends were still the same after all these years. She had wanted to stop them from arguing but it seemed her words just added more fuel to the fire as they started arguing with even more fevor, if they weren’t attending a party they would already have started a sparring session. An Zining turned her head and looked at her best friend who had been uncharacteristically silent. Nie Chenyu was looking at a certain person at the corner of the room. An zining saw that it was just a person with average looks and there wasn’t anything special about him except his eyes. His eye seemed cold and seemed to contain apathy for everything.

An Zining went near Nie Chenyu who was still looking at Zhang Fei with a few peeks once in a while, and said with a cute smile, “ Who’s that? You crush.”

Nie Chenyu yelped in surprise and turned around and replied in a flustered tone, “ wha- what are you talking about, of course he is not.”

An zining arched her brow and made a mischievious smile, “oh really? Then why are you blushing.”

NIe Chenyu replied immediately, “I am not blushing, I am just having a slight ……uh fever that’s right, and I don’t have a crush on him, he is just someone I want to beat up.”

An Zining smile deepened, “but you are still interested in him right”

Nie Chenyu, “You! You are so mean An zining.” Nie chenyu pouted and crossed her arms on her chest and showed a wronged expression seeing how she was made fun of. An zining laughed and hugged Nie Chenyu, “I kidding silly, it’s not my fault you are so easy to tease.” Nie Chenyu harrumphed but it seemed that she wasn’t angry with her best friend since her being teased by An zining was a common occurrence.

Although An zining diverted the topic she was still wanted to know why Nie Chenyu was looking at that guy, Nie Chenyu was someone who remained oblivious about guys or rather wasn’t interested in them so she wanted to know what that guy did to capture Nie Chenyu’s attention. She was now a little bit curious about the guy Nie Chenyu was peeking at.
