《A series of Transmigrated Misadventures.》Chapter 2: Defective Product

The man opened his eyes and found himself in a wide expanse of white as far as the eye could see. I'm not dead? The man glanced around and then looked at himself, he was......well he didn't know what he was, except being immensely black he didn't know a thing, but according to the usual stuff that happens in novels this must be his soul body, wow his soul sure is dark. His (self-proclaimed) soul body seemed to have the same features he had in his original one.
[Initializing sequence....Host detected, host number #!*!* authorized to enter the task system sequence]
A cold and emotionless voice sounded out with no clear point of origin. The man looked around but found no one in the white expanse.
[Does host number #!*!* accept to enter the task system sequence?]
The man was silent for a while and wondered, wait, like a system that takes you to different worlds...,if it was it would be fun to mess around.
"What if I refuse?"
[Refusal to accept...end result soul termination]
"..."why do you even have an option to refuse? (-_-)
[Does host accept to enter task system sequence?]
The young man obviously wasn't going to refuse such a biased offer since his soul was on the line and if he said no, well he would truly cease to exist while the voice wouldn't give a shit and probably find someone else to fill the role.
"I accept."
[Host authorized to enter the realm network.....host being assigned the defec-....new system model K]
Did it just say defective?
The man saw a cube taking form right in front of his eyes from nothing but light, the light just started get more and more intense as the cube was getting bigger and finally it formed into a cube the size of an average adults head until the white light vanished and continued floating in the air.

[*cough*cough* about damn time they let me out, how dare they stuff me in a fucking box why I outta beat the shit out of them for being so arrogant in front of me, oh why I ought to just.....]
The young man looked at the box with look of slight disappointment. Is this supposed to be a system, it feels more like a grumpy old man venting his frustrations.
"Ahem"
[..and then put em in a grinder huh.....]
The system and the man stayed silent looking at each other for a while making the atmosphere quite awkward.
[Ah host it's nice to meet , my name is coco, I will be your companion from now on]
"A companion in what?" I don't think I feel assured having you as a companion in anything.
[Host don't worry I'm quite capable and helpful, my previous host said that I was right before she died]
"Yes....capable...." fuck, why does it feel the voice is playing a prank on him by giving him this 'new modeled system'
The system ignored the look his host was giving it and went forward explaining his previous question.
[Host ,what you have entered is the realm network of the task system sequence, your job is to complete assigned task in different worlds related to different thing, sometimes they may be S -tier task related to fixing worlds or breaking them, I prefer breaking them though heh]
"What do you mean by breaking realms?"
[Well usually the laws get corrupted in some worlds and if they are beyond fixing the are exterminated .oh right Host would you kindly register your name, its just used for legal reasons...]
The man arched his brow but didn't ask what 'legal reason' meant " Zhang Fei , register it as Zhang Fei." He used the name in in his previous life, so he could remember his origins, since he was bounded to the system he would be travelling to many worlds and his memories would get blurred with the passage of time, he didn't have any sentimental attachments to his previous world anymore (except his books and fans T_T) and didn't mind forgetting about it but his name had a special importance to him.

[aaaaand done, host do want to move to task world ?]
"Oh right I wanted to ask you why is my soul so black"
[Because you are a writer.]
"And what does that have to do with my soul being black?"
[I was getting there..... and as a writer whatever you write is the fate of various characters in the many worlds scattered through the realm network, and guess what happens to most of your characters?]
"Uh ..."
[They die miserably, and if that's not enough they also live miserably, sheesh do you know how many people's lives you fucked up, and I thought I was a sick bastard]
The man was a little surprised that whatever he had written was related to the reality of different worlds, he didn't know such a thing would happen otherwise he would have written some insane realities just for the fun of it, but still...
"......."it's not my fault I like to write realistic novels, and only are a bit sadistic, and besides not all my novels are like that, just most .
[Anyways the karma accumulated was no joke and since you were the main cause your soul was affected by the karma, and it will probably affect your luck in the worlds you enter.]
Fei frowned because even though he doesn't believe in things such as luck one can't be too cautious. if he could he would like to avoid the results of being a sadist. who knows whether he is unlucky enough to get hit by lightning as soon as he arrives.
'Is there a way to remove the effect of karma?"
[Yes]
Before Fei could open his mouth to speak the coco ruthlessly poured cold watered over his hopes.
[But you are too poor so you can't, but don't worry since you are a newbie ill suppress the effect of negative karma for a few worlds until you can buy the remedy, though it will cost a bit more]
Fei knew the system was probably talking about contribution points he had heard from his writer friend when they were discussing system novels , not that he has ever written one or read that many, so basically speaking he had to accumulate enough points to clean up his mess.
[Kay, host see ya in the next world ,buh bye]
"wai-"
Fei felt his vision going dark losing control of his soul body, and then blacked out

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
