Everyone stood there stun.
"You're alive!" Xintong shouted happily as she rushed up bear hugging Jun. With his face planted in Xintong's breast his face became hot.
Its surprisingly big, Jun thought to himself.
"Cough, cough!" Ziyu coughed.
Noticing how she was hugging Jun she blushed even brighter than Jun.
"Sorry!" She shouted.
"Its okay," Jun replied.
Everyone else aside from Ziyu was grinning in a happy and teasing way.
Jun dusts himself up and stood up.
"Hello guys sorry for making you all worry. I think you must have found out I wasn't your real guide by now."
Xintong caught sight of Jun's white hair.
"What happen to your hair? Why is it white now?" She asked worried.
"Its a forbidden technique I cultivated in. I had to use it to survive. I should be fine after three months," Jun lied.
"I can't sense any qi on you through," Mei asks confusingly.
"Right now I'm basically a mortal with no qi until three months from now."
"Oooohhh. Makes sense," Mei nods.
"How did you escape?" Hui asks curiously because he really wanted to know.
"Guys lets not pester him so much and invite him inside," Xintong said.
"Yes boss," Hui jokes.
"You're like a cockroach," San Ti laughs jokingly patting Jun on the back and was basically dragging him inside. "Hey remember when we said that if you survived that, that we consider you our brother?"
"Kinda, but thats not why I am here."
"Come in, come in," Xintong ushers. "Do you want some tea? Coffee? Water?"
"Waters fine thank you," Jun said politely.
After Xintong got everyone settled in they finally popped the big question.
"So we gotta know how did you survive it?" Mei asks.
"Yeah," Hui said.
Jun pretended to think for a second but the story was already thought out. "Honestly I did not think I would survive." He admitted.
"Huh then how you do it?" San Ti chimed in.
"Well I used my family's forbidden technique to forcefully raise my cultivation to the Master realm."
"There's such a technique!" San Ti and Hui shouted in surprise.
Mei whacks Hui and San Ti on the head. "Will you stop interrupting him!"
"Yes. Once I use it I would have 15 minutes. After that my cultivation is sealed for 3 to 4 months. Honestly even with that it was very hard to survive. If not for a heavens Realm expert coming out of nowhere to rescue me I think I would very likely have died." Jun explains.
Everybody was shocked at his luck.
"I only know 8 heaven's realm expert in this city and for one of them to rescue you it seems you have some great karma," Ziyu nods his head in acceptance.

Great karma my ass, thought Jun to himself.
Smiling brightly Xintong said, "its great that you are okay. And whats in the past is in the past. You probable have your own reason for doing what you did that day but it was thanks to you that we even got this far."
"No worries. I really do feel bad lying to you through. In truth I was running away from some people chasing me and San Ti appeared out of nowhere and grabs me."
"Thats my bad but you really shouldn't lie through Brother Xing," San Ti shrugs.
"Well it doesn't matter," Xintong said, "because from today onward Xing Lin is one of us!"
"Yup agreed," San Ti said.
"Well said," Ziyu added.
"I am indebted to brother Xing," Hui said with a slight bow.
"We should probable ask if he wants to join first..." Mei said going directly to the point.
"Join what?" Jun asks in confusion.
"Join our sect silly," Mei said.
"Sect? I didn't know you guys were part of sect," Jun said in confusion.
"Well its not technically a sect yet but its a long story," Xintong commented.
"Oh. You don't have to say if you don't want too."
"Its okay we trust you," Xintong said. "I guess it began about one hundred thousand years ago. His name is Qin Shi Huang the first Emperor to unify the continent of Zhong Guo and was later named the Qin continent."
Jun nods his head. "Yeah I heard of this."
"What you don't know is that he did't do it alone. He had a General by the name of Jian Zhang. It was said that his sword art skills were unparalleled under the Heaven and was the first to master one of the heavenly Daos. The Dao of the sword. Through this mastery he ascended into the Titan's Realm. Unlike Qin who was satisfied with his achievements Jian was not. He decided to ascend to a higher plane and disappear was how the story went, but thats where the story begins. When Jian ascended he created his own sect already for pursuing the top of the sword Dao. For twenty thousand years the world was at peace. Then the great invasion began."
"Invasion?"
"Yes from a higher plane was a species known as the fiend-gods."
"Fiend-gods?" Jun asks in confusion. Even he has never heard of it before. How did these people whose cultivation can't reach his know Jun wonders.
"Yes these fiend-gods came because of Jian Zhang's ascension which open a spatial rip that allowed them to detect us. Their bodies are as strong as archaic beast, with the ability to regenerate, and incredible intelligence. Their only downside is that their reproduction ability is one thousand times weaker. Meaning if we give birth to 1000 children they might give birth to one. It is the universe's way to keep things balance. Even then they were overpowering us battle after battle. If not for the suppression of the Heavenly Laws we would have been wiped out in a matter of weeks. In a span of ten thousand years we were near losing until Jian Zhang heard about the situation and came back as a Emperor's Realm Master and ended the war. He destroyed all the Fiend God's and patched the spatial hole. At the time Qin his friend was dying due to old age. Qin's last command was to build the Great Wall formation. It took 500 years but it was finally established and Jian created the four guardian sects to stand guard against further invasion. They are the Shang Sect, Xia Sect, Zuo Sect, and You Sect."

Jun felt like he got slammed with a truck load of information and needed time to process. Fiend-gods, 4 guardian sects, Jian Zhang? Where did all this come from? She can't possibly be crazy right? How come none of this is in the history books.
"15 to 16 years ago the Shang, Zuo, and You Sects attacked my Xia Sect and everyone."
"What!" Jun shouted in surprise. "Why?"
"With the passage of sixty thousand years the danger they felt were significantly weaken and with no one ascending into the Titan Realm the infighting and power hungry bastards began to resort to any means to get stronger. My Xia sect who was completely loyal and took our duties more seriously was framed for cultivating a fiend-god."
"That makes no sense why would they attack the Xia Sect? With the passage of time how are they even able to frame you?"
Ziyu looks at Xintong, as Xintong looks back for confirmation. Jun saw that Ziyu shook his head a little.
Xintong continues, "It is a Divine Ability that my grandfather acquired that is inherited. I shouldn't say anymore than this but for if you like you can join my sect. There are some rules through. So would you like to join?"
"Its not that I don't want to join but that I wouldn't be of any help at all," Jun explains. "With my current abilities I would be more of a burden than help."
"The Xia Sect only has 7 members currently."
"Seven? I only see five," Jun stated.
San Ti took a quick shot of alcohol from his travel flask. "The other two is currently out adventuring but will be back in a couple months."
"What are the restrictions? I don't have to sign a soul contract do I?" Jun asks.
"Hahaha," Xintong laughs, "no theres no soul contract just that you can't reveal anything that was said here. No bullying the weak and less fortunate. You cannot say that you are part of this sect for now. That you will be loyal to this sect and will not hesitate to help when it is in danger."
"Oh thats not bad."
"As for benefits there really isn't much," Xintong said in shame.
Seeing her so sad Jun felt his heart ache for a sec. "Alright I'll join then. I will be in your care then."
"Aye that a boy!" San Ti laughs patting Jun on the back.
The reason Jun accepted wasn't because he wanted to be a part of the sect but because he wanted to help them out. If becoming their peers would help that goal he would do it. Plus thinking back to that day he still felt guilty over it especially after hearing this story from her mouth.
There should be a better way to help. Jun thought to himself.
"Thanks," Jun replied.
"Welcome to the Xia Sect brother Lin," Hui congratulated.
"Brother Lin it can't be that you join the sect to pursue our Xintong can it?" Mei tease.
"Mei!" Xintong shouts.
"Brother Lin follow me," Ziyu said. "As a new member you will be receiving some of the techniques and cultivation methods left behind by the Xia sect."
"Thanks."
Ziyu took them to a vault storage room downstairs. It was a dark and damp basement but the vault looked pretty well guarded. It was a 10 feet by 10 feet vault made out of Oregon Ore.
Xintong followed behind.
"I sealed off the space," Ziyu said.
"Okay thanks," Xintong said. "Lin I am going to transfer you the skills right now. Just relax and don't resist."
"Wait whats the vault for?" Jun asks confused. If you're not gonna use the vault why bring me down here?
"Huh? Oh that it was already here when we got here..."
"Oh..."
Xintong's hand flew forward and taps Jun on the forehead and a flood of information and technique rushed in. Even through Jun lost his cultivation his soul was still in the peak Master Realm. His mind quickly began sorting through the information and storing them in the appropriate part of his memory palace. As a cultivator they all have to store huge amount of information as they grow stronger so those whose souls were strong enough would make a memory palace for themselves.
As he scanned through the techniques Jun couldn't help but be stun and amazed at some of them. Even through they were simple they were also heaven defying. Then he smiled bitterly remembering that he can't cultivate anymore.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
