《Crossing Over: Chronicles of DxD》The Beasts Lair

BANG!!!
The sound of a collision reverberated through the area, this in turn caused the barrier which was hit to vibrate. Beast like creatures kept slamming onto it without any concern for the self.
Bradley: Not an ounce of intelligence. There's no way these shits can be called werewolves. They just keep on attacking.
Tommy: Hey, Terrance! Do that star fall thingy again.
Terrance: Don't go giving names to my spells! Its called Meteor shower, METEOR SHOWER!
BANG BANG BANG....
A pack of beasts continuously rammed against the barrier. Tackling and slashing with sharp claws. The barrier itself held its own, it would've shattered by now if I hadn't transferred the multiplier power of 'Boost'.
"How did I become the tank?"
S.Sesa: How did you become the tank? Hahaha!
It is I, Sesa Purusa, who has become the tank for these hunters.
We started off doing our own thing when the hoard of beasts arrived. It was something like 1vs2, 4vs2, 3vs5 or whatever. There was no obvious plan of execution. We fought our own battles and if we could, we'd help our comrades if it's possible.
I wouldn't call it the best method in a group battle, heck, I'd never do something like this with my own peerage or teammates... well unless they were super bosses themselves.
Then I went and did the simplest thing to defend myself... I used a spell and summoned a barrier. Successfully, I was able to hold off my attackers. With the Mask of Deception's 'Mimicry' I was able utilize the spell as I had seen it, under Momo Hanakai's invocation.
Terrance: You can use magic too?
Bradley: He can use magic. What's that... like a shield.
Terrance: That's barrier magic. At least one level of it. Never saw it before? Are you stupid? Unfortunately, not many of us mages went into studying barriers.

Just like that I found myself in the situation I am in now. I became the tank for this party. Luckily, these beasts got no brain or we'd be having a more difficult time.
Now that I think about it. If the beasts are only acting on instinct. Why would they leave Ryan alive? I have a feeling there is another goal, someone else is pulling strings from behind scenes.
Anyways, the exorcist swords that are with me had to be immediately put away, the only weapon I carried on my person was the exorcist gun. The gun was for anything unexpected, self protection you know.
All I had to do was hold up barriers. The other guys would kill off the beasts. We started roughly but now we're getting the hang of it, soon these beasts will be gone and our injuries can be kept to a minimum.
Even if a beast went astray, all I had to do was produce another barrier to block it's path. The other guys would take care of the rest.
After a while, the battle was coming to a closure. The four barriers that I summoned, placed next to each other to form a wide V formation with slight gaps for the hunters to attack between spaces. Each barrier had the appearance of tower shields and I must say again, they were able to withstand the bombardment impressively.
S:Sesa: 'Ey, don't forget to capture one alive of Beelzebub.
"Ah!"
That's right, I should get one for Ajuka to research. Thinking about that, I let the others know.
"Guys, leave that one alive. I'll capture it." I say that flatly. Terrance killed off the other remaining beast leaving only one left. I manifest the blue coffin box, Necroussary Abyss and opened the pathway to darkness.

The other guys, the hunters, are pinning down the remaining beast and dragging it along. From what I can see, it has some good regenerative ability. As they bring it, I assist by getting Necroussary closer. I only need to at least get a part of it's body inside then it will be over for it.
... Done!
Sealing off the coffin I make it disappear. Of course, not without giving out some instructions.
"S.Sesa, Ddraig!"
S.Sesa: What's up?
Ddraig: What is it?
"Keep an eye on the thing."
I tell them to pay attention to the beast. Maybe there's something to learn about it. Satan would mostly learn a lot from the research subject, unfortunately, he ain't here now. We have learn something, anything, to gain an advantage.
In the meantime, everyone is taking rest. Not sleeping, resting. A short break before we head out again. This is especially so for us who use magic, we need to recover our mana.
"I think I should meet with Momo Hanakai again, I should learn more about barrier magic or defensive magic. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have something else in my arsenal." I converse with S.Sesa in secret. No one can know me best than myself.
I wonder if I'll be able to manipulate that barriers in the same way that Sona is able to manipulate her spells. If I can then it would definitely be handy.
Some time later a few guys appear, actually some of the hunters who are more experienced went to investigate further in the forest while we took a break. They look eager for some reason now that they are back.
????: We found it, we found it.
Tommy: Found what? 'It' don't mean anything.
????: Ah sorry about that. We found it... eh... we found the beasts lair.
Bradley: How far is it from us.
????: A lot more deeper inside the forest. There's a mountain peak there in this direction.
Tommy: It's time.
Bradley: Alright everyone. It's time to move.

The Simulations
After ascending from his last life to become a Champion our hero has his memories locked. He is told that he must compete in competitive simulations against other Champions in order to earn enough to continue to simulate his consciousness. The competitive simulations have a variety of scenario genres, and may or may not have a game interface. The first competitive simulation our hero faces is from the Summoned Hero/Traveller to a New World genre, and is set as Fantasy Realistic - no game interface. He must ensure that the person he chose in the simulation's setup survives the end of the world in order to win. Author's note: I'm committing to one arc of four books. The arc has its own complete storyline. And each book has its own individual storyline as well. Each book also has 60 chapters, for a total commitment of 240 chapters. I'm aiming for a release schedule of a chapter every 23 hours.

Magitech Awakenings
In this world of Terrapia, myth states that Dragons are caretakers of the chaos wheel, a band of energy that encircles the world, penetrating through the very fabric of the dimension. They tame and convert it, not only to fuel their primal magic, but also to gentler forms that man and beast alike can tap. But now they have faded away, being sighted less and less the past couple millennia. With magic weakening, science has taken root and in many cases merged in a symbiosis with magic. Guppy Bright, a 17 year old young woman, is a technomancer apprentice living in the bustling city of Nolusburg trying to make ends meet. Apprenticed to the enigmatic and somewhat crazy Technomancer Friedrich BrassTuner, she participates in an experiment meant to tap a new rich source of energy. However something goes horribly wrong and a rip in the very fabric of reality opens in the workshop, sucking in her mentor and ejecting a dying white dragon. The dragon, after examining her, takes a gamble and entwines their souls, an act that causes the dragon, Barthurthalomalew Dresnarian Kratomanger Harrowhew Objuslorow, the 5th, aka Batty, to regress into a baby dragon, sealing much of his powers and memories in the process. This act also has profound effects on Guppy, her own magic is now crazily changed in ways no one, least of all her, understands. Guppy is suddenly plunged into a world of mystery, intrigue and politics, where everyone either wants to control, or eliminate her. Armed with little but her courage and unpredictable newfound magic how will she survive and protect herself and those she loves when everyone from techno radicals, magic purists, politicians and guttersnipes are out to get her. And those may be the least of her problems if Batty's fragmented memories are any indicator.
