《Legendary Poise Fighter》Chapter 8

The clangs of metal being forged under the starry night sky. A blacksmith was hammering the glowing iron near his blazing furnace.
His eyes only focused on his work as beads of sweat ran down his whole body.
"Dear, here’s some water. Drink it once you’re thirsty."
The man didn’t notice anything happening around him; he just hammered.
"Mama, why doesn’t Papa respond?"
A child with honey-blond hair and innocent eyes asked her mother.
"That’s just how blacksmiths are, dear. Now go to sleep, dear, it’s getting late now."
"Yes"
The child, with her little feet, went inside their house to sleep.
"She’s such a cute child."
With eyes full of affection, the mother stared at the child.
"I hope this war will end right now, dear."
Only the clangs of metal were the sounds she received as a reply.
The mother stared at the blacksmith with full concern.
The mother kissed the sweaty blacksmith on the cheek as she went inside the house to sleep beside her child.
He froze and forged the whole night, making four swords and only stopping after it was done.
The light of the day made the four swords shine.
[ Moon’s Love Rapier (Mass Produced)]
[ Lunar Star Rapier (Mass Produced)]
[ Twilight Space Rapier (Mass Produced)]
[ Rising Phoenix Rapier (Mass Produced)]
The swords had the same shape but different designs and performances, and their names represent the time of their birth.
The ‘Moon’s Love Rapier’ was born shortly after the mother and daughter slept, followed by the ‘Lunar Star Rapier', born under the midnight moonlight, and the ‘Twilight Space Rapier’ was born at the time when heaven and earth were in harmony, and lastly, the ‘Rising Phoenix Rapier' was born when the sun’s fiery blaze was descending upon the earth.
All of these swords were made for beginner duelists as they can’t lose in war.

Like mayflies, they are born in mass and used in war along with the soldiers at the front. They are like pillars once broken down, their roof would crumble unless another one comes in and provides support. That’s why they are targeted by the enemy. They are elite spear heads at the front fighting the enemy counterpart.
The blacksmith knew how much potential was lost when a young duelist died. The fire that was meant to burn and illuminate the sky was put out the moment it sparked its blaze.
Despite the fact that many duelists survived and became national heroes by never losing a duel. However, many of those who stood out were assassinated.
While storing his work along with the others he made to help in the war effort, he saw a glass of water and drank it.
…
As Geron was forging weapons, the war quickly escalated and turned into a continental conflict.
It was morning and their child was playing outside when Geron and his wife started to talk.
"Dear, should we move to the capital?"
The sudden proposal startled Geron, as he asked.
"Why?"
"The war has grown out of scale and we’re close to a uncertain kingdom, It’s making me anxious that we’re this close to an unknown threat."
"..."
Geron thought about what his wife said. It was true that the war had turned into a continental war, many allies turned enemies, and enemies turned allies. It was another age of turbulence.
"You know, I can’t make it work without a good environment."
"We can come back once this insanity subsides."
Geron thought hard about it, and he saw his daughter playing outside.
"I think you’re right, I already saved up enough money to be able to afford a place in the capital. Let’s comeback once the war stops, but let’s wait for the kingdom’s carrier. I just finished 34 items they can use and let's pay for a ride. They will come tomorrow morning."

"Alright dear, I’ll pack our things now."
The mother went to pack their baggage as Geron went to the anvil and furnace outside the house to forge.
…
Geron slept before it was too late to get ready for the ride tomorrow, but suddenly woke up in the middle of the night.
This made his wife wake up too.
"What is it, dear?"
The woman asked.
Geron shushed his wife as he concentrated on his hearing.
Then a loud scream was heard.
"Help! The village is being attacked! "
The screams of others quickly followed as they noticed men in clothes attacking them.
"Sh*t, it’s an attack."
Geron cursed as he took his wife and told her to take her the bags she packed, as he went to take his daughter then.
"MAMA! PAPA!-ngmp!"
This shocked Geron to his core.
Geron, a blacksmith, had some of his own works that he used as decor, so he grabbed one and dashed to his daughter's room.
[ Drake Killer Great Sword has been equipped ]
With the greatsword in his hands, he bashed through his daughter’s room.
What he saw filled his eyes with killing intent as he saw the man covering his daughter’s mouth with a sword in his other hand.
He saw his daughter's eyes were full of tears.
Without another second wasted, he chanted a skill.
"Raging Blacksmith, True Strength!"
His greatsword glowed red and so did his eyes when he chanted.
"Grandmaster Blacksmith, Delicate Eyes!"
He quickly and clearly saw everything the man had, from his items to his weaknesses.
"You!"
The man holding his daughter noticed that the man in-front of him was dangerous and tried to use the kid as a hostage, making the kid's muffled screams louder.
"DONT TOUCH MY DAUGTHER!"
Geron, with all his might, slashes his blade.
Like a drakes nail he slashed it aiming at the man's head.
The man tried to say something to Geron when he readied his stance, but he attacked so fast even though he was holding a greatsword.
Geron's sword cut the man’s neck like tofu.
It left a red line followed by a rain of blood.
The child went to his dad, crying.
Geron dropped his sword as he knelt down to comfort his scared daughter.
"It’s okay, Felicite, Papa is here."
Felicite’s cries were muffled under his father’s arms and her mother appeared clearly scared, concerned and many more emotions.
"Dear, did you get our baggage?"
"Ye-yes"
"Good, let’s get out of this place. They’ll find us out quickly now that I killed one of them. They’ll surely know something is wrong."
Geron Le Fer and his family went into the woods with all the stuff they could carry.
Geron brought some of the great weapons he made, and due to being a blacksmith, it didn’t affect his speed one bit.
They are now far away from their town as burning smoke rose up from their direction. Fortunately, they packed the money they intended to use to buy a home in the capital, which for a kingdom, is the most defended place.
…
PN: Hello, Idk why but I kinda wanted to write this. Important notice: this isn't the story Felicite is telling. This is more of a background for the story she is going to tell.
