《MMORPG: Dual Cultivation Online》2. Finally inside!

That night Ben had several vivid dreams about several bizarre stuff and when he finally woke up, it was already the next day morning.
"Fuck! I slept through the entire day?"
"NO. No. No. No." He hurriedly got up from the bed, getting ready to go to the game store. However, before that, he buckled down from unbearable stomach pain.
"Ah, right! I didn't eat for the entire day yesterday." He slowly crawled over to the dining room, all the way from the attic.
"Sigh. I didn't eat for the whole day and no one in this house gives a shit?"
"Mom?"
"Ben, why are you shouting? I am in the backyard." A woman's voice loudly sounded.
"Huh.. ugh… backyard. I don't have the energy right now." Ben somehow pulled himself to the fridge and started wolfing down the Chinese food leftovers that were stored in tupperware.
"Ben?"
"Ben?" His mom called a couple more times but he directly rushed out once his stomach was somewhat filled.
Pulling his old bike off the rack, he pedaled to the electronics store in the closest mall.
Ben walked inside with long strides, with the full intention of creating a huge commotion and ruckus but surprisingly, the shopkeeper was more than happy to give him a replacement.
"Huh? Really? Wow." Ben thanked the guy a lot and pedaled back home at top speed. It seems today was an unusually lucky day so he didn't want to let it slip.
For a person, who had nearly died and then fought with some random soul for the possession of his body, he was surprisingly calm.
Or rather to preserve his sanity, at least whatever was left of it, he decided to consider the whole thing as one big bad bizarre dream.

Ben hurried back home and then raced upstairs to connect everything as per the instructions. He had somehow managed to get a brand new helmet at one-tenth of the cost.
What an unexpected windfall!
With a huge grin on his face, he quickly sat down and prepared to put the helmet on again. But just as he was about to do it, he couldn't help but pause for a second.
He gazed at it somewhat fearfully and muttered to himself. "Please. Not again."
He then closed his eyes, prayed to all the gods, and finally put the huge thing on, switching on the button.
The next second a whirring sound filled his ears and before he realized it, the weight of the helmet and the familiar feet smell that plagued his room, both completely disappeared.
Ben flashed his eyes open to see a completely different world in front of him.
There were trees, eastern-style buildings, people were wearing robes instead of shirts and pants, and there was something in the air.
Well rather, something was missing in the air, pollution. Everything smelled fresh and clean.
Ben looked around and he was standing in the middle of a market space perhaps in a crowded town?
Just as he was beginning to wonder where he was, suddenly an old man appeared in front of him. He was the typical Dumbledore-style old man with long white hair.
"Welcome young Daoist. Welcome to the world of cultivation."
"Eh? Isn't the game's name 'Land of cultivation'?" Ben immediately asked.
This made the elder's lips twitch as he was clearly not pleased to be interrupted like this. "Yes, yes. 'Land of cultivation'." Came a dry reply.
Ben gaped at this realistic conversation in amazement. He also moved hands and legs and everything felt so real.

"Fuck, this game is amazing." He muttered loudly.
Meanwhile, the Dumbledore in front of him was once again at a loss for words. "Young man, you seem to be not capable of paying attention to one thing? Do you want the tutorial or not?"
"Ah. Actually, don't worry about the tutorial. I already researched a lot about this game. So no need for you to continue blabbering. Exit? Bye?"
"Yes, Yes. I get it. Good luck with your adventure." Dumbledore coldly snorted and then disappeared.
Ben was amused by this easily irritable tutorial NPC but the game developers only had themselves to blame.
When a player first logged into the game, they should have made a sexy beauty narrate the tutorial, perhaps then most of the player population would refrain from skipping.
As for this old man, who the hell wants to waste their time on a grumpy old man when there is a whole world waiting to be explored!
He He. Ben walked on the streets, grinning ear to ear.
He had truly waited too long to be able to play this game!
And now that he was finally in… it was just as amazing as he had imagined!
"He He. It's about time I took a look at my talents. Let me see how amazing is my starting constitution!"
Ben eagerly opened his system interface that displayed his status menu on a translucent blue screen and the moment of truth arrived.
______________
Name: Benjamin Taylor

Talent: None

______________
Qi: 0
Physical Strength: 20
Mental Strength: 30

______________
Ben's eyes quickly glossed over the various terms. However, with each word he read, his expression turned darker.
"Bloodline… ordinary?"
"Physique… ordinary?"
"Legacy… none?"
"Talent… none?"
"Only my spirit is some chaos spirit, wait what does that even mean?" Ben clutched his head. This was the absolute worst starting stats one could get.
It was not like he expected to win the lottery but to not even have the basic earth-tier physique? This was a death sentence.
With this, he already knew it would be impossible to get admitted into any sect.
And without joining a sect, his only way of obtaining cultivation techniques or battle techniques would be to do menial tasks and demean himself like a servant for some NPC.
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. What am I supposed to do now? I can't even make another account. How the hell am I supposed to play this game?"

The Dark Lord Gillian - Tales of Prompted Madness (Complete)
There's an evil wizard. A dark knight. An elf with a shovel. There's a dude with a car. And there is a lot of just complete and total chaos. ... As an explanation for those mildly interested or mildly confused: this is a story that was crafted from the beloved-madness that is r/writingprompts. From one prompt, to the next prompt, to the next, with no other way to progress except taking a new prompt and using it. Far as stories go, this one was spawned by a mix of blind-clicks, and dice-rolls, more than any true selection process. Fantasy driven, it was written mostly in my spare hours between work-projects and on lunch breaks (whenever I was lucky enough to get those) by clicking on reddit writingprompts that I could find within those windows of time. Title is notable cliche, and I'm far more than just open to alternative suggestions. This story is complete and will by copied and pasted in with minimal to no clean-up. It will not be held to much in the way of quality standards. So if you have corrections, just keep that in mind... But, on the brighter-side of things, there will be an awful lot of it. Apologies ahead of time.

Humans Are Evil (completed)
A world of magic, where empires rise and fall, and where civilization is never safe from the perpetual menace of the monsters that roam the land. In this volatile landscape Fera is reborn and must adapt to this new and ever-changing world. She will grasp at whatever opportunities she finds to escape her unfortunate birth as an orphan. Either excelling, or wallowing in self-pity, Fera will question if this world of magic was as fantastical as she initially thought. Note: The story is technically a litRPG, but much less like a game and more akin to real life, for example obtaining a class does not give free skills to the individual, it’s the other way around! Skills are what unlock your class, so an individual who learns magic skills will unlock mage classes, classes then provide passive buffs and stats, in my opinion this makes everything feel more earned so that the power levels in the world are more natural, rather than every single random person being a powerhouse.
