《Awakening》Martial Training Hall

Although Avren was surprised, he still followed Ger inside the Palace.
Seeing Avren catch up, Ger looked at him sideways and spoke indifferently: “This Palace was built by master in order to guide you. The Palace consists of several halls. Before, your cultivation was low so you couldn’t enter any of them. But now that you’ve reached the Foundation Realm, you are qualified to enter one of the halls.”
'It seems he’s still angry but it can’t be helped.’ Avren thought.
When they walked past the gate, Avren discovered that he entered another space. In front of him, there was a huge door.
‘Martial Training Hall!’
These words were written on top of the door. When Avren looked at them, he felt his mind shake. These words emitted an aura of invincible might that made Avren sweat unexpectedly!
“W-what are those words?” Avren was shocked. He looked at Ger and asked.
Seeing him struggling from the aura of the words, Ger smirked. ‘Serves you right!’ He thought.
“These words were written by master personally. If you stare at them for a long time, the aura will invade your mind. Though, If you manage to endure this aura, it will be beneficial to your state of mind. If you can’t, well, you'll go insane.”
Avren was dumbfounded. This bastard. He did it on purpose! Is it because I suppressed him outside?
“Anyway, your mind is protected by that mysterious energy so you’ll be fine. Otherwise even if you’re a thousand times stronger, you wouldn’t be able to handle it.” Ger spoke indifferently without even turning to look at Avren. But inside, he was very pleased.
Avren calmed down and stabilized his breath then said: “So, what’s this Martial Training hall? Is it for teaching me how to fight?”

Ger turned around, spread his arms and said: “That’s right! This hall contains all of my master’s battle experience! It’s absolutely a treasure which anyone would kill for! This hall creates a virtual space and simulates all of my master’s fights. When you enter, your mind will be inside my master’s simulated body. How much you learn depends on you capability.”
Avren was surprised. From the information in his mind, he knew how precious the battle experience of a Genesis is!
“So the aura from these words is to ensure that my mind can handle being in your master's body, right?” Avren inquired.
Ger was surprised from this question. He looked at Avren carefully again and said as if he couldn’t believe it: “You’re quite smart.”
Avren ignored his expression and continued: “But I think there’s no need for that. Your master probably made this hall in case he reincarnated in a dangerous world. But, we are on Earth. There’s no danger here.”
Ger looked at Avren as if he was looking at an idiot. “No danger? I thought you were smart but you turned out to be a fool! Listen here, even if you don’t consider the advanced weapons on Earth, this planet alone has a lot of people who can pinch you to death with a finger!”
Avren was shocked. Earth has other cultivators? How is this possible? Why didn’t anyone hear about them?
And they seem to be very powerful too!
“Are you sure? I never heard about them!” Avren asked as if he couldn’t believe it.
“Absolutely sure! It’s easy for these cultivators to hide from ordinary people.” Ger said confidently. “Now hurry up and enter!”
Avren shook his head and said: “Not now, if I 'sleep' for too long, my sister will be worried. Wait until the night!”

“Don’t worry the time flow can be adjusted inside the hall. I can make it so that an hour outside is a month inside! So hurry up and enter!”
Time is different? That’s awesome!
Avren no longer hesitated and decided to enter. Now that he knew that other powerful beings existed on Earth, he has to prepare himself in case he meets them one day.
........................
Avren pushed the door open and entered the hall. Inside, there was nothing but darkness.
As soon as he walked in, the door closed. Avren followed Ger's instructions and sat cross-legged with his eyes closed.
A moment later, he opened his eyes and found himself in a forest. He was wearing strange clothes and holding a sword in his hand. In front of him was a huge silver wolf with two wings. The wolf was looking ferociously at him as if he was a prey.
Avren felt his heartbeat quickening. The wolf's eyes made him feel unprecedented fear! After all he never encountered a being like that before.
Suddenly, the wolf dashed at him like lightning. Before he could react, it was already in front of him, opening its large mouth.
Avren immediately thought of escaping, but it's too late.
Just when the wolf was about to rip his head off, Avren's body moved on its own. He suddenly took a step back to the left, and swung the sword in his right hand upwards.
Slash!
Avren looked upwards, dumbfounded. The wolf's head, was flying above his head and landed on the ground. The headless wolf dropped down as well, dead!

The case is thoroughly investigated, irrefutable evidence gathered, and a manhunt for the killer begins. The only problem? The investigators don’t seek to restore peace – they seek to justify war. As many people’s fates get entangled by the crime, who can say which ones the chaos will reap? [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Release Schedule Chapters will be released once per week, though I've not yet decided on a specific day. Regardless, there shouldn't be more than seven days between chapters, but should that be the case, I'll state it in the post author note. Severed Fates, book 1 of EOTSG A multiple POV fantasy set in the future. This book will feature elements of space travel and advanced technology, but not too much, and the main focus will be on the characters as they strive to achieve their goals. All feedback is appreciated because it'll help me improve the story.

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.

The Mentor
This one is for my daughter. She talked me into it (again) and it is her favorite genre of books. So, Bet, this one is for you. The true-bloods, the masters, they came first. His duty as a dhampir, his duty was clear, his fate sealed. Heath was to serve Gerald, an aging Vampire Lord, one who was of pure blood, born to the race, until Heath outlived his prime and then he would pass on the knowledge that was passed to him onto a new bastard to carry protecting the bloodline. But was it necessarily his fate? Could a sterile half breed such as himself, someone who did not exist in the human world, live anywhere in the world on the light? After a particularly nasty encounter with his Mentor, Heath is on the run. Set on not becoming the new guardian and knowing that decision has now marked him for death. The hunt is on and somewhere behind him is Joshua, the heir of his Master, and the thing that plagues his nightmare, his Mentor Karen.
