《Blaze》Chapter 26 - College Girl

Serah leads the way while trying to navigate the campus on their way to her and Nickie's dorm.
Serah turns a corner and stops at the same time as a young man who was going in her direction. Serah takes a good look at him and her eyes widen. It's that boy! She thinks surprised. It was the young man that she had met in Sapphire City.
The young man also looks at her and his eyes widen. “It's you. I thought I'd never see you again.” He says, somewhat surprised at these circumstances. The young man takes a deep breath, preparing to let out the words that have been bubbling up inside him all this time. “Since you’re here, I might as well say it. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met! Well, I mean, not physically; I’ve met women who were even more conventionally attractive. But you! There’s something about you! The way you move, your voice and the way you speak!” The young man says, expressing what he could, somewhat swooning at the idea of her.
Serah, with all her might, forces a poker face onto her expression. “Well, that’s nice. Unfortunately I’m not into little boys. Ask again when there's a little more blood on your hands.” She says before taking Nickie’s hand and hurrying away from the scene.
The young man stares, watching Serah leave without a goodbye. Blood on my hands? He wonders, not sure what any of that had to do with it. I know! I’m not strong enough for her to accept me! Then wait for me beautiful lady! I’ll grow stronger, much stronger! Until you’ll accept me! The young man thinks with determination when something crosses his mind and he stumbles on his own feet. Wait a minute. Did I ever get her name? He wonders, a little unsure.

After running away a fair distance, Serah lets out a breath. “Men! They don’t know when to stop!” She exclaims.
“Do you think he’s a student here?” Nickie suggests.
Serah lets out a sigh of frustration. “Probably. Which is just a damn shame. We just got here and I already have to start avoiding certain people.” She exclaims, feeling that this was a bad start to their college girl dream.
Nickie smiles, amused. “Maybe we won’t run into him too often. It’s a pretty big school.” She says, not worrying too much about it.
“You’re probably right. Come on, let’s find our dorm.” She says before walking forward.

The college and the city that was built around it was huge. In addition, the city drew adventurers from all across the kingdom. The Redvine Forest was nearby, and that place was a paradise for foolish heroes and treasure-seekers of all kinds. Some of the most dangerous monsters in the kingdom lived in that forest, and miracle fruits and rare medicines lay hidden within, waiting for anyone brave enough to claim it. It was often used as a testing ground for the College of Mages; students would get sent in for a variety of missions, such as finding a rare herb for a professor’s research, to hunt certain types of monsters for useful body parts, and, to explore the ruins of the ancient kingdom that laid buried in the forest.
Anyways, Serah was excited. There was much in this place to keep her busy. For the moment, it was enough to keep her satisfied. Spending a few years here polishing her skills and slaying monsters didn’t seem too bad; and in a few years, when Jahir reintroduced enchantment to the world, she might go back to Gardenhill and aim for that noble title that she wanted. But for now, it was a college girl’s life for Serah, and she intended to enjoy every moment of it.

Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel (An Irreverent Fanfiction)
Fates Parallel is a gripping cultivation story, following the adventures of a half-spirit girl with nothing as she grows both as a cultivator and as a person after arriving at the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial and Arcane Arts. It features fleshed-out, believable characters, wonderful world-building that informs the course of the plot, and girls who hold hands. Fates Parallel is a very good story, and you should read it! Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at this same world from a different angle, following a totally regular girl who brings bad luck with her wherever she goes. It features shallow, joke-name characters, a focus on the least interesting parts of a fantastic world, and girls who hold hands (potentially). Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is an amazingly hilarious (so says me) fanfiction and you should read it! (This is a Totally Author Approved Spin-Off (Fanfiction) for Fates Parallel, which you can find in a number of places including here on RoyalRoad! Please do read it!)

Hero:Generation
UPDATES WEEKLY The world of Hero: Generation diverges from our own in the 1970s on a night known as “The Aurora Event”. Beautiful and luminescent weather phenomena covered the planet, for ten short minutes every corner of the Earth was underneath a cascade of lights in the sky. It was days later before reports began to filter in, more than could be suppressed by Governments and Nations. The Alphas had arrived. A small percent of the global population began to exhibit otherworldly and super natural abilities, changing the course of humanity. The Vietnam Occupation ended over night, as each ruling nation took action to respond. In the coming years Alphas would begin to change the globe. Russia eventually became an Alpha nation ruled by a mysterious figure only known as Father Winter. America, Europe, and Australia become even larger superpowers as their Alpha populations exploded, in time a United Nations force known as The Guardians was established to police and document the Alpha emergence. The worlds foremost expert in Alpha studies, Dr. Pavel Laghari invented a system known as the Laghari Scale, that scored Alphas on a scale of 1 to 10 across a wide array of parameters ranging from relative physical abilities to other parameters. Now, in most civilized countries Alphas are required to be assessed the moment their powers manifest, or be in strict violation of local and international laws. In this Age of Heroes , The Guardians have designed a new Initiative to recruit younger Alphas and set them on a path to greatness. Every year teenage Alpha’s from all over the globe flock to secure locations to take part in the Guardians crucible. Many will enter, but few will earn the right to call themselves a Guardian.
