MARLIN WAS seated in the living room, observing the woman in her late fifties performing a surgery on Joana who was in her undergarments; laid face-down on the dining table. She was under anaesthetic while her grandmother, Mrs Scott was stitching her up, Cynthia and Lee assisting in the procedure...
The sister-boys were also keeping a cautious eye on the 'inferior' visitor seated across—it was the first time that the Aryans had an Intersexual under their roof—and they don't trust him much, especially anyone being part of the Preacher's One God's Army.
Marlin picked up one of the photo frames from the side table from where he was seated—it was of the younger Mrs. Scott carrying a toddler—it could not be Joana because it looked like a turn of the century faded photo; probably taken back in the '80s or 90's—could it be Joana's mother as a baby back then?
He was also not sure if Big Joe of Wesleyan was also from Mississippi.
The Adonis' eyes scanned around for his lacuna of clues—there were a dozen other photo frames displayed everywhere in the living room.
Everyone soon overheard the sound of a plane soaring above the farmhouse, Lee spoke up...
"That is the General's plane."
It annoyed the old woman, and she raised her voice straight away...
"Why is she here? I don't want that bitch or her mother in my house. It is people like them who create a mess like this," pointing at Joana, who spread insensate on the kitchen table.
"Mrs Scott, General Gailman is her sister—please don't make it difficult like the last time." This made Joana's grandmother even more furious...
"This is my house, and I have every right to who steps into my front door. I don't want any more of your Aryan Sisterhood filth under this roof," she pointed at Joana again, and with a cosseted voice, she protested more...

"Look at my innocent girl here—you have all have poisoned her mind with your silly militia ideologies and you went for war bringing her; Joana nearly bled to her death to get back here to me."
"I am sorry, ma'am—the General is already here and I am going to let her in," Cynthia responded back politely back before stepping out of the front door. Marlin stood up to follow her out but the obdurate Lee drew out her pistol and cautioned out harshly...
"You sit the fuck down, she-freak!"
Marlin suppressed his spiking anger that raptured inside his head, and he wished he could teach the supercilious Aryan woman some respect like he did the last time to Joana back in New Orleans—but he reconsidered the requite urge—it was not appropriate to pick a fight and trounce the rude dyke in the house of his host. Furthermore, they have confiscated his rifle the moment he had stepped into Mrs Scott's house.
Marlin sat back again, another photograph frame just caught his attention—it was a four-year-old Joana sitting on a motorcycle with her teenager elder sister, Roxy Gailman...

Cynthia ran on the barren field beside the farmhouse to a single-engine crop-duster plane. Roxy who was now thirty years of age—descending down with her Aryan Sisterhood bodyguard, an over six foot tall soaring female giant. They both removed their goggles and stepped away from the plane. It was late evening and the sun was setting when they strolled back into Mrs Scott's farmhouse.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

8 431To Cross the Threshold
What would one do, when a star crashes into the Earth? Die, of course! Except, in Joseph's case, it was all wrong. He met face-to-face with the Light, got the program forced into his brain, and woke up far, far away from his small insignificant hometown, in the ethereal endless void, full of stars and vigour, guns and loot, Daemons and Skills! From there on out, he got volunteered into the crew of the Morning Star, the pirate ship he was unfortunate enough to stumble upon. With a tree for the Captain, a dragoncat for the Quartermaster, and a human, equal in height and width, as the Cook, he sets sail across the mysterious and hostile Threshold, filled with fierce abominations, rich Ghosts, and patriotic soldiers from the Glorious Metal Empire, all to figure out what the Light has brought upon his Earth that day, and to find his way back home. Warning - English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance for any inconsistencies and grammar mistakes. Please, do point them out when you find some. Updates three days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday. This book is about the slice-of-life-ish lighthearted adventures of Joseph and Co. Just one long bumpy road, inspired by old-school RPGs.

Some of you believe in fate and some of you don't. That's ok in our world. In the world that I created Fate has been acting strange and selfish for a long time. She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. Ever since humans started traveling through space, that opened millions of new opportunities for Fate to make the human soulmates meet. However, because of her strange behaviour Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. One and his crew don't know how ironic it is that she chose them to make her good move. ------------------------------- I didn't use any movies, books or series for inspiration the story is my original work. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain telling me what to write. I hope you liked it :) It’s just a story, like all of my other stores. It doesn’t have a deeper spiritual, moral or ethical meaning.
