《Emperor Who Rules Over The Swords》Chapter 07— Pursuit Chase

A domineering figure was in front of them, yet even though Cait has her eyes wet, and shaking body, her will to fight never wavered.
I want to become like her too…. As his eyes burned in determination, admiring her figure, Cayle's inner fear burned away, in his blazing resolve.
But still, that doesn't change the fact that they're in danger. There was still that creature who was hungry for their flesh…
Even though Cayle was wondering what kind of creature it is, he got no answer. Although it has the same features as an ordinary goblin, the difference is this one is holding a cane in his hand.
As he was pondering about it, Cait held his hand while trembling, before saying the words her mouth badly wanted to say, "T, that's the goblin witchcraft…"
Goblin Witchcraft? Cayle has never heard of such information. Even Leon never told him that.
Seeing his confused look, Cait held his hand tighter, "Prepare yourself… We're going to run?"
Instead of speaking further since he was kind of curious as to what she meant, Cayle nodded his head, while clenched in a fist.
"What do you plan on doing?"
"Just trust me."
Trust cannot easily gain, that's why although Cayle was holding her hand in a tight grip, there were still doubts in his heart.
As they held each one's hand, the goblin started approaching them slowly, like it was giving them a mental psychological fear.
Who wouldn't?..... At his figure alone, even Cait has her forehead running cold sweats. But since she has a plan, Cayle on trusting her for a bit. If it failed they die, if it's successful they'll be able to live for another day. It's much better than doing nothing and awaits the approaching death.
Although he had no idea what's her plan is, Cayle could only put his trust in her.
He took out the sword from his waist, before preparing a defensive stance. However, his posture was clumsy, and his defense could easily be broken. After all, he only copied the stance he had seen in games he played before.
Not only the goblin but also Cait was confused as to what kind of stance he was making. In the countries she has gone to, she never saw a stance the same as his.

The goblin witch figure leaps into the sky, soon the gem in his crane gleamed in crimson blood, afterward creating a fireball, Without hesitating, the goblin witch threw the fireball in his crane towards them.
The fireball was quite large, the size of a boulder, that's why it appeared to come slowly, giving them time to react and despair.
Cait held his hand and leap into the side, their figure rolled down the muddy ground before standing up in their two feet.
As they were catching their breaths, the goblin witchcraft moved again, not letting them recover.
Does this thing has some grudge on us! Although Cayle knew that it starved for their flesh, he couldn't help but curse it in his mind. Why doesn't it play around with them for a bit before preparing to end them? This goblin has no patience…
However before they could rejoice, the goblin narrowed their distance and ran up to them..
Cayle swung his sword, as its figure appeared in front of him. Instead of dodging, the goblin witch raised its crane and defended it.
Pointing his palm towards Cayle's abdomen, the goblin witch whisper into the air, which full of words they couldn't understand.
Alarmed, Cait warned him about the chant, "Runaway! He's chanting magic!"
After they were scattered around by the fireball it deployed, their distance became large. Although they were holding hands at that time, they still got separated from each other…
Cayle couldn't hear her voice due to the tension his body was emitting. He wanted to run away at full speed, but couldn't.
Cait seemed to notice, as she ran up to them. Soon, she appeared beside the goblin and slashed down at its arm. Blood splattered onto the ground, as its eyes grew ferociously…
Because it had to focus its mind on chanting, it is forgotten that there's another one and resulted in his arm being severed. His arm rolled into the ground lifelessly, as it appeared within his sight, it seemed to tremble in fear.
The goblin retracted his cane by blowing away the sword in front of him. Since he was in a dire situation, he didn't dare fight back and used his once usage transportation magic.
The goblin figure started fading away in dust, as its figure appeared running away, hundreds of meters away.

No matter what, they couldn't afford to let it recover. Cayle also seemed to notice what she's thinking, and immediately chased after the goblin alongside Cait.
Although his speed wasn't as fast as Cait and the goblin. Cayle still ran in his feet, following their tracks.
The goblin witch continued running away while resenting them. Sometimes, it'll even throw low-tier magic like a magic beam, and electric discharge, but both of them all dodged it, leaving the goblin's witch resenting them even more.
How did it come to this, although they had already guessed that the key to defeating floor 1, was to defeat a monster with monstrous strength, the overwhelming strength it displayed as an enemy still struck them with fears in their minds?
If the monsters on floor 1 were this strong, just what kind of monsters the floor 2 contained? Fears even rose in his mind.
As they kept chasing after the goblin witch, it suddenly stopped in its track, after arriving close to the forest..
The fears in his eyes glowed deep, as his lips and eyes formed the shape of the crescent moon. The cane on his hand, raised into the sky using his hand before he began chanting again.
Since chanting magic was slow, both of them took the opportunity and ran forward. However, they were mistaken. Since the goblin witch has high intelligence, it tricked them into thinking he'll release one.
The forest was its home, so surely there were traps everywhere.
And as they expected, as they accidentally stumped into a leaf, a trap made out of rope filled their surroundings, as their figure was caught in a trap, before raising them under the tree.
Finished…
Now that they're trapped and couldn't move, surely the goblin witch would take action to end their life, however to their surprise, it left with fears in its eyes. It was really cautious despite them being trapped, thanks to that both of them could live for another day again.
Soon, the figure of the goblin witch vanished from afar. Even so, the fact that they're trapped doesn't change.
Cayle tried using his sword to slice through the rope, but since they were cramped inside, he couldn't exert strength into cutting it.
"Endure this with your body."
Seeing that Cayle couldn't slash it with his sword, Cait was left with no other choice but to use magic. Her palm set ablaze, as a tiny fireball appeared in her hand.
The fireball in her hand flashed as it hit the rope. The fire starts spreading the moment it appeared on its side, both of them endured the pain until the rope was burnt into dust. Afterward, they had fallen into the ground like a hanging lump of meat.
Cayle's hair was almost burnt down by the fire, on the contrary since Cait has fire immunity due to her special physique, pain is the only thing she could felt at her side.
Cayle stood up from the ground, before lending his hand out towards Cait. Unlike last time, she took his offer and held it tighter before getting up, from the ground.
"Thanks." Cait expressed her cold expression and said.
Cayle ignored her and asked the question he was cautious the most, "Should we chase after it?"
Cait shook her head, she wanted to rest for a bit, so she sat in the corner before giving him a reply, "Give it a rest. We'll chase after it later once we recovered our strength."
Cayle didn't argue with her and also sat beside her.
After their comradeship earlier, they felt comfortable with each other now. Unlike the cold atmosphere back to the town, they didn't mind sitting beside each other now. More like, they felt at ease. At that battle earlier, they could feel their trust in each other, growing in size.
After half an hour, they soon recovered their strength. Venturing into the deep woods, they followed where the goblin witch vanished.
Finding it will be hard, after all, they didn't really know where it's heading to. Since they got no lead, they could only march forward, in the attempt of finding it. Trap or not, they could only face it forward, now that anything surroundings them could become dangerous, they were highly cautious at every step they took.
If they let a creature like it escape, they'll be doomed after all...
Not only it hold grudges, but it also has high intelligence, so no matter what, they must chase after it, and put its life to an end.
