Lucia abandoned her intention to leave to work because of an unexpected visit from two High Knights of Haegia. Albert sits beside Villias while Romain and Volya sit in front of them. Lucia could see that Romain and Volya cower in fear with that sudden visit.
Albert looks at Villias and gets a nod from him. He then says,
"I believe both of you want to know the reason for our visit today..."
Volya and Romain startled after hearing that and they look down immediately. Villias notices them and wants to ask a question to them. But, before he could ask them, suddenly Romain stood up and surprised everyone there.
He immediately bows in front of Albert and Villias and says,
"I'm really sorry about the last incident! Because of my incompetence, both Your Highness and Lady Ludmila were badly injured. If only I could react fast enough, none of them would badly be injured!"
"Huh?"
"If you want to punish someone... Just punish me. I'm ready for it!" continues Romain
"Err... Sir Romain... We..." says Albert that interrupted by Volya
"No... I'm really sorry about that, too! If only I didn't act indecisive and believe with my instinct back then... None of us will badly be injured like that."
"..."
"And don't punish Sir Romain... He is a knight with a bright future! If you want to punish someone, just punish me... A mere commoner that made Your Highness injured," continue Volya
"No... Volya! It's my fault for that!"
"No... It's not!"
Both of them argue about that, with Albert and Villias looks at each other. Suddenly Albert chuckles and Villias raises his hand. Volya and Romain stop their quarrel after seeing Villias hand and hear,
"It's none of your faults... I already heard the story from Lady Ludmila and from there we know that it's our and the guild's messenger fault."
"But..." says Romain
"And Lady Ludmila already said that she is responsible as she is the one who pushes all of you to fight that Troll. She will get her punishment as soon as she recovered from her injury," continues Villias

"Still... We make Your Highness..."
"About Your Highness, Sir Mikhail is lecturing her right now... So you don't need to worry about it," says Albert
"And her injury isn't that bad... That's the good news from that incident. Even she commend both of your action back then," continues Villias
Both of Volya and Romain still not convinced with that and still looks down after that. Albert smiles at them and then whisper something to Villias. At first, Villias surprised, and then he smiles too.
Albert then looks at them and says,
"Just think that this assignment is a punishment for both of you."
"Huh?"
"Just sit down first as Sir Villias will tell you the description of the assignment... And thank you for this lovely tea, Lucia," says Albert after he notices that Lucia puts two cups of tea at the table near Albert and Villias.
Villias looks at Albert and then takes out several documents and parchment from his leather bag. He then says,
"Here is every document that related to those monsters that we fought at that fallen village..."
"Huh? That incident?" said Romain and Volya
"Yes..."
Volya and Romain look at each other and then take the document from him. None of them remembers about the fallen village until they read the document.
Romain read the document, while Volya the parchment. A parchment that tells them about the magic around the time of the incident and every incident involved not long after that. Volya then says,
"I remember that Haegia doesn't have a magician on its rank... Then, how did both of you receive this report?"
"We got that report with help from Brigandy, Gill, and Osteria Family," answer Villias
"Hmmm..."
"What is it, Volya?" asks Romain
"From this report, what I suspect back then is true... Someone using forbidden magic..." answer Volya
"But, why did you look really surprised?"
"They stated that the source of residual mana comes from one person... How in this world someone could have a very big mana pool to use this type of magic so many time..." explains Volya as he continues to read the parchment as he scratches his head

"Is that so..."
"And what about that document, Romain?" asks Volya
"The document stated something about attacking several villages at Haegia and Ostonorid. They have the same result... None of the knights finds any corpse," answer Romain
"How long did this already happen?" asks Volya
"It's already three months, and a lot of villages fall on this mage hand," answer Albert
Romain and Volya look at each other and then Albert continues,
"At first I wanted to post it on the guild and design it for a high-level adventurer to help us..."
"But knowing their ego and sometimes naivety, we choose to deploy our knights," continues Villias
"So... You want me to back to the knight rank for this mission?" asks Romain
"Yes. We already prepared your armour and weapon for this mission," answer Villias
"I will work under whose command?" asks Romain again
"You will under Lady Ludmila command, both of you will be under my command," answer Albert
"Lady Ludmila?!" says Volya
"Yes... That's my punishment to her..." answer Villias
Romain thinks for a while and then he says,
"I will accept it. It's my duty as Haegia knight to help his kingdom!"
"Good to hear that," says Villias
"And then, Sir Volya..."
"Huh? Did you need me for this mission too?" asks Volya surprised
"Yes... You are the only mage at this kingdom, and you are really knowledgeable about this magic," says Albert
"And I believe with your power... Even we witness it ourselves your power back then," continues Villias
"But..."
"You don't need to worry... If you don't want it, we understand. We will continue this mission nevertheless," says Albert
Volya closes his eyes for a while and feels his Ferret touch his feet again. He smiles and then says,
"I will gladly accept that mission. It's an honour for me to help my kingdom."
Villias and Albert smile at them. Albert then tells them about the plan and tells Volya that he will get new equipment for this mission. And at the end of the mission, Albert says,
"Alright... That's all from us."
"We will wait for both of you one week from now. Hopefully, both of you ready that time," continues Villias
"Sir, yes Sir!" answer Volya and Romain
"Good to hear that... May God of Fortune on our side for this mission."
Albert and Villias then leave the house because they have another mission to do. After they leave, Romain asks Volya,
"Then what will you do?"
"I must prepare some scroll to help all of you from their curse... Not only that, I think I need to make several chants less magic if we indeed fighting against the magician," answer Volya
"Good to hear that..."
"Then what about you?"
"I will prepare my mind and body... It's been a week since I trained my body properly."
Both of them smile at each other and start to walk. But, they feel someone holds their cloth. Lucia, who overheard their plan, looks really worried. Volya and Romain smile at her and then pat her head. Romain says,
"You don't need to worry, we will be fine..."
"But..." says Lucia
"I will make sure everyone gets back in one piece. You don't need to worry," says Volya
Lucia could see that Romain and Volya already return to their old self. So, she smiles at them and says,
"So... Promise me... Both of you will go back to this house again..."
"We promise..." says Romain
"After all, that's the last rule of Adventurer, right?" says Volya
"Yes... That's right..."
Romain and Volya smile again at Lucia with Lucia now smiling at them. She let them go and they immediately went to their original plan. When they already leave the room, Lucia look above and says,
"Please... Keep them safe..."

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.
