《The Primordial Of Deaths Awakening》Premonition of wars to come

I was woken up 10 minutes before the nobles started arriving by my sister rolling over on top of me and nearly suffocating me. I loved my little sister but sharing a room with her was annoying because she rolls around a lot. She also likes to cast spells whenever she has night terrors so I’ve started wearing sleepwear that is enchanted with magic nullification and the room has the same. Finally rembering my abilities I Teleported out from under her and gulped in the fresh air as I clutched my throat. She had actually killed me once before and it was not a fun it had scared everyone as all my creations lost connection with me for a minute. After that I’d made sure to put a barrier over me every night but I’d forgotten to do so cause of how tired I was. Turning around I ring a bell to call some of the servants to dress me and my sister. It was embarrassing to need all these servants just to get dressed but formal clothes are death traps in this world and last time I tried to get into one on my own Sebastian and Alpha had to jump out the window to catch me and break my fall. I tried to use magic to get out of the mess I’d gotten stuck in but since I couldn’t see I’d teleported outside of the castle and nearly fallen to my death. As the maids were helping me get into what felt like a 60 piece suit Alpha was leaning against the wall as he brought me up to date on what had happened during my 45 minute nap. So far nothing incredibly serious had happened just minor altercations between nobles from opposing factions. One noble had tried to force a commoner to his bed but since he was only the son of a baronet I ordered he be fined 100 gold and given 10 lashes. There wasn’t much else I could do and that angered me, when I was a primordial that was a crime punishable by cursing of reproductive organs so they no longer function and a lifetime prison sentence. Here all I could do if it was a low ranking noble was fine then some money and give a couple of lashes. If it was a high ranking noble or even a duke I wouldn’t be able to do anything without having to resort to using assassins. There was a reason I’d ordered most of the commoners away from the area the nobles would be entering from, and that was because the nobles of this world don’t care about their people at all, and even a commoner who had gained power and fame was still just a commoner in their eyes. It pissed me of and I renewed my resolve to drag the gods that encouraged this despicable behaviour all the way to the deepest darkest part of hell I could find and torture their souls for a thousand years. All of a sudden alphas open palm hit the back of my head, “you lost control again young master stop thinking about revenge and focus on how we’re going to keep the spies that the nobles are almost certainly going to be bringing away from anything sensitive!”

I only looked at him as the maids that had cowered away from me a moment ago went back to making sure I was presentable. Lazily Waving my hand towards a shadow behind me blood sprayed from the corner before disappearing as I incinerated it. It was laughable that any spy thought hiding in the shadows to eavesdrop on me was a good idea. Extending my hand towards the shadow I pulled a necklace off the corpse before that to was redused to nothing more then some ash that I blew out the window before my sister could see it as she woke up. Turning back towards Alpha I spoke, “eh just kill em. if they want to try and stick their noses were they don’t belong I’ll just use it as blackmail against the other nobles.” I turned my gaze to the necklace I held as I spoke towards it now, “your next little Marquis for daring to attempt to assassinate the eldest children of the arbor house!”

Of course that spy had only just snuck in through the window and was placed there only to listen to us and try to find where any sensitive documents or where we stored design prints and prototypes for our weapons. However any noble who saw that recording would be unable to say he WASN’T trying to kill us and that would be enough to have him investigated by the royal family. Getting him off my back for the foreseeable future. Of course It was most likely Marquis Ashber but I don’t actually have any information on who it was so I took a wild guess. I truly hope that Lady Luck is on my side for this!

Unknown’s POV: I smashed my hands against the armrests of my seat as I held a small necklace in my hand. That damn brat just kept messing up my plans. I’d been given a mission by a cardinal of the church who had asked me to get the plans for the weapons used by the soldiers of that damn dukes son as well as any information we could use to incriminate him. Apparently the pope had declared them to be weapons given to him by demons and they needed to find ways to replicate them to fight the coming horde of demons. It made complete sense to me as his power and the strength of his soldiers all must come from demons if they aren’t demons themselves! It’s the only way to explain the why he has so much military might at his disposal and why his soldiers are so loyal to him that they won’t hand over their weapons even when offered enough money to buy a small city. In fact they’d even killed the messengers as soon as they tried to ask to be given the weapons. Even when the head of a rather large temple in a small town had approached them asking for the weapon by order of the gods they’d refused and when the temple knights and church goers had tried to take them by force they all been killed, heavily wounded or knocked unconscious and even when one of them had managed to wrest a weapon away from one of the footsoldiers(guardsmen) the other soldiers had gotten incredibly angry. That anger had resulted in the town being lit on fire and the church being obliterated. The church officials in charge of that area had demanded I step in and take the weapons as recompense for the destruction caused by the soldiers but even when I’d ordered him to hand the weapons and the rights to some of the mines on his territory he’d refused. He simply Stated that the church attacked first and his soldiers were justified in defending them selves. Now I had to send even more spy’s and surely at least one of them should be able to infiltrate the castle. I’d also been given a second task by the church which was to sneak some church officials into the city so they could bring the words of the gods to the poor commoners who were being unjustly ruled by demons. It was hypocrisy at its finest. The church only cares about the commoners because of their donations to the church. They didn’t care about their well being they just wanted their money. I knew this but why should I care it’s only worthless commoners. I didn’t care what the church officials were actually planning on doing once they were in the city. All I cared about was the reward money I was promised if I could complete this task. Plans started forming in my head as I looked forward to seeing the despair on the face of that brat who had humiliated me and destroyed my plans at the royal ball two years ago! I was supposed to be the savior of the kingdoms nobles not him!

Leonidas POV:

After I was fully dressed I headed down to the reception room were some of the lesser nobles were already gathered. I didn’t care to introduce my self to any of them because none of them had anything that was worth me trying to get close to them. I also just hate talking to them because they suck up to me far to much. I hate it when people compliment me without meaning it, all it does is show their insincerity. After walking past them I walked to the throne in the far side of the room. It was in a raised platform so I could look down on everyone. I had made sure that it was raised before the opening of the city because I hated most of the other dukes and wanted to piss them all off as much as I could without actually doing anything that they could use against me. I sat down on the throne and closed my eyes as I mentally communicated with the VTOL Ospreys I’d sent to pick up the dwarven king and his entourage. They would arrive in a couple seconds but the king would have to teleport from the aircraft so they wouldn’t be revealed to the other nobles. While it was impressive what human imagination and dwarven engineering could accomplish when put together I only had 10 of them and it cost a lot to get them in the air. Their mana furnaces went through mana cores like crazy. For one hour of flight it took nearly 450 E rank cores. Even with all the monsters in my territory it was exceedingly difficult to maintain them so I only used them when I absolutely had to. Currently 3 were spread across my fortresses 2 were here in the city and the other 5 were bringing the king and his entourage here. The dwarves also had a couple but they didn’t have access to as many cores as I do so until we could find a way to improve the cost to waste ratio they were only used in emergencies. As more and more nobles arrived I calmly sat on my throne. My only job for this was to sit still and look pretty as my father said, well he also said not to piss anyone off but unfortunately Alpha chose that minute to contact me so I couldn’t hear him. As some of the nobles I disliked came in I made sure to look them in the eyes so they knew I was looking down on them. I could sense that they were livid but Marquis Asher looked like he was gonna explode. he was still mad that me and dad made him piss himself at the royal ball two years ago. Also I’m pretty sure the spy I killed was his so that also probably had something to do with it. Anyways I zoned out after that as father started speaking about how glad he was everyone could make it to the city of Eden a hidden gem buried behind something or other that would become a trade center for all races across the two continents. This was the first I’d heard about another continent I didn’t really expect the technology to have been advanced enough to be able to make intercontinental travel possible. Well maybe they were close together I certainly don’t know. After father finished his speech I got up and headed to take care of some “urgent” business. I sort of had urgent business but it was just talking to my mentor the dwarven king about weapons which was always fun. I could sense several spy’s trying to follow me through the shadows but I teleported away as soon as the door closed trapping them in a small dark room as anti magic formations activated making sure they couldn’t slip out until the banquet was over. I didn’t kill them simply cause I thought it would piss the nobles off thinking their subordinates had accidentally walked into a trap room and gotten stuck there. They’d probably kill them for me so might as well not waste the effort. Once I knew I was clear I walked calmly towards a book shelf in my office and pulled a a book with gold trim off the shelf. Pretending to leaf through it I muttered, “the world can only know peace when the false gods are torn from their dying thrones.” As soon as I spoke an illusion formed around me mimicking me doing normal work as my actual body was teleported to a hidden chamber over a kilometer underground. It was a natural cave system some miners had found and I had taken it over as as secret factory and research and development facility where we were trying to create some of the technologies that most technological worlds had. I knew of something called a steam engine from my years of fighting on many billions of primitive worlds but I didn’t know how it was made or worked. So it was trial and error, well at this point it was just error even from here I saw an explosion as another prototype failed. Mana tech was what the dwarves specialized in but we were trying to create weapons that didn’t need it so we wouldn’t be so reliant on mana cores which were a very limited resource. For the current tanks and warships we had mana furnaces that ate more mana cores then my damn dragon body guard. Even with the mer people swearing allegiance to me it didn’t help because we couldn’t kill enough mana beasts to offset the power needed by our army. The tanks had smaller mana furnaces that while they didn’t need as many cores to run the amount of them we had took a lot and the warships had much larger ones who’d efficiency was terrible. Barely one percent of the mana in the cores was being used the rest just dispersed into the air! The dwarves had an idea they said might help with the efficiency and I was all ears. Unfortunately it required magic runes to be carved into the furnaces to trap the mana inside it so it couldn’t disperse. It was a good idea but I was worried it would overload and explode very easily. Our compromise was trying to find a way to crystallize the lost mana into mana stones which should increase the efficiency for the smaller furnaces by over 50 percent. It was just a question of wether our theory was correct and if we could adapt them to the larger furnaces.

Now our talks switched over to the elves, me and the dwarves despised them but they were to powerful for us to attack without taking catastrophic damage so we settled for simply cussing them out. While me and my mentor were happily insulting the elves we both looked to the east were a massive mana disturbance was taking place. Looking at each other we nervously swallowed as whatever or whoever it was the amount of mana was enormous and we could only wonder what they were doing as we hurried to get any information we could. I scrambled the 6 ospreys we had available for troop deployment and immediately started loading them with troops. Each osprey could hold 30 of my protectors or 50 guardsmen. The reason they were so massive was because the mana furnaces were the size of a small room and we had to build bigger to be able to fit them in without making an obvious weak spot. I could only smile nervously to encourage me soldiers as they rushed around preparing for a battle against a foe that of the mana being released was any tell they were so overwhelming I doubted the entire continent could take them on and even have a slight chance of winning. As soon as artillery pieces were loaded and some tanks were strapped to the underbellies of the Ospreys we took off and headed for the area were the mana had been.

(Forgive me if this part is a little stereotypical I’m trying find ways to introduce characters so if this seems out of place please let me know so I can change it)

Michaels POV: Today had started off poorly like my entire life so far, I’d woken up late, almost missed the school bus, spilled my tea on the most popular girls in school as well as tripped and accidentally groped one of them. No matter how much I apologized they wouldn’t forgive me and from the looks I was getting from the other boys on the bus I was in for a lot of pain after school. During math I forgot to study for the test. During PE we played dodgeball and I was the last to be picked and then I was targeted by the boys on the other team. Then during lit and comp I realised I’d never written the essay that was due today. After lit and comp was over as I was packing up and trying to head home before anyone could bother me I was cornered by a fair amount of the other boys as they formed a ring to keep me from escaping.

One of the boys who’s name was John stepped up to me as he said, “So I heard you felt up my girl. You tryin to die you little punk?”

Looking up at him I could only cower away as I stuttered, “nnnnn no John I tripped it was an accident I didn’t mean to!”

The girl of accidentally felt up was Stacy and while she wasn’t dating anyone it was well known in the school that John liked her and he proactively scared off anyone who he even thought was getting to close to her.

It didn’t matter to him that it was an accident as soon as he heard what happened he’d already decided to beat me up.

As soon as a I finished talking John laughed at me, “hear that guys it was an accident! You know what else is an accident? Your entire miserable life!”

Hitting me in the stomach he continued laughing even as I laid on the ground hugging my stomach in pain he kicked me over and over till I was almost certain I was gonna vomit up blood. Instead I just vomited on Johns shoes which only pissed him off even more and he continued to hit me. All of a sudden bright blue light formed around us on the floor. Glowing blue lines and odd symbols appeared before everything went white and I had to close my eyes to avoid getting blinded. When I opened my eyes there were trees everywhere. We appeared to be in a clearing but every where else there was only a sea of green. John had been so focused on beating me he didn’t even notice until someone grabbed him and forced him to look around. All around us was almost the entire schools worth of students and teachers. There were even some cars where surprised looking parents looked around having only been preparing to pick up their kids. A teacher looked towards our group and her eyes widened as she saw me on the ground clutching my stomach and bleeding profusely from were John had hit me. Running towards us she grabbed me as she screamed at the kids around us, “what happened to him!? Why are you all standing around he needs medical attention!”

“John looked sheepish and said, “he fell down the stairs on his way out down from class we were taking him to the nurses office when this happened. Right Micheal?”

His last sentence was filled with malice and I only nodded to confirm his words because I knew what would happen if I didn’t. Suddenly a strange voice spoke in a language I didn’t recognize turning my head as much as I could through the pain I saw a man who had a black cloak on and the hood up, he was leaning with one arm against a tree as he looked at us quizzically. Another teacher I think she was the vice principal walked towards the man as she asked him in a couple different languages I recognized Japanese, English, German and French but the man didn’t seem to know any of them but he walked closer to the teacher. As soon as he was close to her he licked his lips and before anyone even realised what was happening he lunged towards her grabbing her face with his hand he pulled her closer before pulling down the collar of the blouse she was wearing and as he opened his mouth I saw two fangs. I screamed, “Vampire!” Just as everyone looked at me like I was crazy he bit down on her neck almost instantly she went still as her body seemed to shrivel up after only 10 seconds he threw her lifeless body to the side. Her corpse looked like it had mummified now he turned towards us and lunged for the nearest person who just so happened to be Stacy a look of terror washed over her face as she stumbled back but he was already on top of her. Pinning her to the ground he pushed her head to the side as her lunged for her neck. Then a BANG echoed through the valley and one of the vampires arms separated from his body as he barely managed to twist out of the way in time. Everyone had already started running and no one even stoped to try and help those who were to slow it had simply become everyone for themself as even those in cars ran over anyone in their way trying to get as far away from the massacre as possible. Despite whoever was trying to snipe the vampire it had grown wise and started keeping a living human between itself and the direction of the bullets so it couldn’t be hit without killing the human. The sniper had also wises up and stoped firing seemingly content to let us die until he or she could get a clear shot. Eventually everyone was either dead or had escaped into the woods except for me and the vampires current human shield as the vampire turned its head towards me I knew my life was over but I wanted to do something to help the girl he was currently holding hostage maybe if I could get her out of his hands the sniper might be able to kill him. As the vampire slowly methodically made his way towards me I started looking for anything I could use as a weapon but the only thing around me were shriveled bodies and a couple outcropping of rock. I started linking towards the rocks as the vampire leisurely strolled towards me. I suddenly realised I would never be able to make it but I kept trying before I felt a hand tap my shoulder. The vampire had long ago reformed the arm that had been blown off and he was now standing behind me. Lifting me by my throat into the air he chuckled and to my surprise he spoke and I could understand him, “You humans are so funny did you really think setting up a village in a forest like this with only one guard was a good idea? That guard doesn’t even seem to care about you because otherwise they would have shot through one of the shields to kill me and save the rest of you but they didn’t so my luck I guess.” Right before he bit me I noticed a glint of silver to my left the vampire noticed my eyes turned and looked in that direction. His eyes widened as he jumped backwards a women with a rapier had jumped out from behind the rocks of been heading towards and had severed the arm holding the girl. Even though he had lost his arm he didn’t seem to care about that as much as the loss of his hostage. He tried to grab the girl who was closer to him then I but the women’s rapier intercepted his hand and knocked it sideways. Again a bang echoed through the valley but this time the vampire had a hole blown through his waist. This only seemed to annoy the vampire as it healed in almost an instant. The two seemed to exchange words for a second before jumping at each other and exchanging blows. The vampires claws against the women’s rapier. The vampire seemed to be winning but the sniper was good whenever he was about to land a blow a shot would come from they’re perch and hit the attacking appendage or force him to stop to avoid being hit. The fight was even now but soon another vampire appeared looking around at the sight of the massacre she seemed annoyed and started scolding the male. The sniper fired again but this time the earth seemed to come alive as a wall of dirt blocked the shot. Backing up towards us the women who had saved us was covered in small cuts that oozed blood. Pulling some drink from her ring she downed it in one go and her wounds started healing at a visible rate. Taking two more out she threw them at me and the other girl. Backing up with her sword pointed at the two vampires she pointed with her free hand towards the mountain and seemed to be ordering us to go. I picked up the girl and started backing up as quickly as my body allowed. Whatever medicine the lady had thrown at us was slowly healing our wounds but not quickly enough that we’d be able to run anytime soon. The lady who was protecting us was also on her lest leg she had cuts all over her body and the male vampire didn’t even seem to be tired. At that moment she tripped over a rock and the cloak that had been hiding her face from us fell away revealing pointed ears. I had read enough fantasy novels to know that she was a elf. I didn’t have very much time to dwell on the fact because the vampire had jumped on her and was trying to bite her neck. She had her hands around his neck but she was slowly losing strength, and as her arms gave out she let out a cry of despair. I’d noticed throughout he fight that I was slowly becoming able to understand them and through her tears I could hear her saying, “I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!!!”

Before I knew what was going on I had grabbed a rock and chucked it as hard as I could at the vampire but all it did was make him pause for a second and glare at me. “Wait your turn human!”

As he went back to draining the elf of her blade a red streak flew through the air and hit him in the chest biting a clean hole through his body before shadows covered his body and we all looked up to see massive helicopter like plans high in the sky. Shadows were falling from them as some of them came closer for a landing. Farther away on the other side of the clearing one had already landed and a swarm of troops had poured out of it. I could even see a tank coming from the cargo hold. I couldn’t help but laugh as I knew we were saved!

Leonidas POV: I opened the cockpit door and poked my head in. The copilot turned back to me, “15 seconds to drop zone your green in 10!” Nodding to him I walked back out to the cargo hold and strapped myself into my drop seat. There was a red light on the wall in front of me and I stared at it nervously. There were 20 of my soldiers in here as well as me the dwarven king and 8 of his elite guards. Elizebeth was also here to fight with us but she was on another bird. While I was lost in thought the light went green. Looking up I met my soldiers eyes through their helmets, I tapped the earpiece as my helmet started forming around me. As soon as I started talking everyone on all 7 craft started paying attention, “we don’t know what exactly were getting into here the scouts we sent ahead entered a zone where the mana was so agitated their communication stones couldn’t work. Our only hope is that the reason a being released so much mana is that it got into a fight with another powerful monster and of so it should be wounded. Aim for the eyes, underbelly and any open wounds you can see. Ospreys you are weapons hot drop your artillery and tanks then get as high as you can and provide CAS. This is an absolute order no one is allowed to die without my permission you all hear me!? Today we fight for the brothers we have made and the innocents back home who cannot defend themselves! FOR THE ALLIANCE!” As soon as I finished I crossed my arms over my chest to prepare for the drop. Everyone echoed my battle cry and the dwarven king nodded approvingly at me. He’d been teaching me how to raise my troops morale and rule my people better so I hope I did that right. Slowly the seat I was sitting on folded back into the wall as a small tube rose from the floor.underneath me a door opened so the only thing Keeping me in the aircraft was a single tether attacked to my back. We all had windpacks that were one Time use. Upon reaching a certain altitude they would sent out a burst of wind magic to slow a persons fall and turn what should be a lethal fall into a surprise attack against the enemy. We all nervously watched the light until it flashed green and the pressurized air pushed us out of the Osprey. Falling from 20,000 feet up was normally an exhilarating experience but this time we immediately used small correctional thrusters to put some distance between us all in case the beast sensed our approach and used an AOE attack. Scanning the ground below me I noticed the bodies of many humans littering the ground and near an outcropping of rock I saw one of my scouts fighting two beings while protecting another two behind her. Activating my short distance communication I took my squad towards them as I started casting some magic to kill the magic caster on the enemies side. Right before we hit the ground my pack kicked in and instead of dying again I crushed the person that the elf was fighting. Jumping back through the cloud of dust me and my squad formed up around the human kids as some pulled out bolters and other took to the front line with swords and spears. We hadn’t seen any truly powerful beasts yet and from what I could tell these were probably level 50ish adult vampires. They were a pain in the ass cause of their regeneration and blood magic but were there were two vampires there were probably a nest of them and I know I don’t have the troops to try to destroy a whole nest of those abominations. Resigning my self to having to fight a defensive war against a legion of undying àssholes i flourished my sword and settled into a combat stance ready for what ever came through the cloud of smoke.
