《Fantasy and Terror Klepto's Harbinger》Ch. 5 The Terror

The roar sent an icy chill up Damien's spine and the sound waves reverberated throughout his entire body. The growl came from behind and above Damien. So that meant this thing was BIG! How was it possible that something so big and heavy could sneak up on me so quietly? Damien quickly spun around to face the biggest creature Damien had ever laid eyes upon. It was a monster from legends...it was a freaking Werewolf!!
It stood over 8 ft tall. The creature had a long snout and 4 inch razor sharp canines lining its mouth from top to bottom similar to a wolf on Earth, but there was where the similarities ended. This creature had shorter ears on the top of its head, with fur covering it from head to toe on its back down its back and past its tail covering the legs and arms. Its face had eyebrows, two large oval shaped eyes with a pitch black pupils surrounded by golden colored yellow eyeballs.
From the cheeks down its chest and stomach area all the way to its hips were mostly bare with patches of hair covering the chest area and some of the stomach area. Its arms were longer than its legs which extended to about the middle of its thigh area. Both were covered in fur and had retractable 8 inch razor sharp claws that looked like they c slice me in half horizontally with a swing or two of it muscular build. The aura from this beast was immense and it felt like the gravity had increased in the area. He felt fear trying to overwhelm his reason, but he would not let it. The fear of death was much more powerful.
Damien thought about turning to run but, that was out of the question. Seemingly, like it read Damien's thoughts the creature bounded off its powerful legs towards Damien with its right claw raise poised to strike. As its arm came down for a killing blow Damien dove to the side in desperation narrowly missing the death blow, but the blow still had nicked his side. The blow was glancing but left deep gashes from his now profusely bleeding right rib cage.
The blow bearly touched Damien, but still tore his flesh like paper. Blood instantly coated the front Damiens shirt and pants and Damien knew that he couldn't take a second blow from those claws. As Damien thought this, the creature quickly leaned forward and on both of its arms as though it was trying to perform a handstand and kicked Damien in the front of his body with both of its powerful legs in a move that he would never expect a wild beast to make.

Damien felts something cave in his chest and sailed 40 feet away landing hard on his back in the high grass and cough a mouthful of blood. Damien was sure he heard something else crack when he landed, and his vision swam momentarily and Damien felt pain everywhere. Damien knew that he could not pass out though, because the beast's powerful charging body bounded directly towards its potential prey saliva dripping from its massive hungry maw it and pounced in the air with claws and arms extended and mouth wide with every tooth in its mouth showing ready to bite Damien in two.
Damien knew this was it as the beast in the air he had seconds to contemplate what to do or he was dead. He was struggling to breathe and the kick made it hard for air to get in and out of his body. He was sure he was going to die from his injuries but what can he do he...wait! The AIR! That's it, Damien had air magic! Damien quickly extended his arm, the beast only mere feet away. The world stopped.
Instantly pressure build up inside of Damien and an immense power had built up in his midsection. Damiens arm was outstretched. The Beasts' maw was mere inches from Damien's hand and the only sound that could be heard was Damien screamed, NOOOO! First, there was a cracking sound in the air and then a massive BOOM reverberated for miles around. A powerful gale force stream of condensed air shot out of Damiens' hand and into the mouth and body of the massive beast.
The powerful blast of wind must have been immense at point blank range because the momentum of the beast was instantly halted in the middle of its jump, an inch from Damiens' fingertips. A snapping sound came when the beasts lower jaw a bone began bending downwards towards at an unnatural angle towards the beasts chest. Tearing precious flesh and muscle tissue of the jaws of the monster.
The wind gust continued making its way through the inside of the beast's body shredding vital organs and making them fly through a hole that burst out of the stomach area and even making the eyeballs shoot out of the socket and brain matter shoot out of its snout covering Damiens clothes. With shocked eyed the intelligent the creature didn't even have a chance to yelp in pain before it was sent flying a few hundred yards away, out of sight, away from Damien in the opposite direction of him.

Damien saw a path cleared in the direction of the blast as though a horizontal tornado had followed the beast sending with it a trail of blood behind the flying corpse. All of this happened in mere seconds, but this felt like a lifetime to Damien. Breathing hard and panting, Damien had finally succumbed to the pain of the large gashes and broken bones and he passed out.
...up...WAK-...-P….HOST WAKE UP...HOST WAKE UP!!!
Damien slowly began to stir. "Uhhh...Huh...hu- huh? ...Wher-...where am I? Ugh, I feel like I have a thousand needles stabbing my brain simultaneously. Damiens head was pounding, his body was feeling weakened but it was slowly lessening as the minutes passed.
(Ting) Host is still in the middle of the grassy inside of a forest.
Damien grabbed his head because it was still pounding, but he was awake and the pain around his body subsided somewhat. Though, looking at the wounds Damien knew he definitely should not be awake with the kinds of wounds he had received, but how? Damien thought, as multiple notifications flood across his vision but, he quickly dismissed them at the moment.
(Ting) The hosts' system has purchased divine regeneration from the system for the Host and the body's physical recovery and boosts the host's natural defense in and outside of the body. The recovery only happens outside of combat situations. The hosts' flesh, organs, and bones have already begun to slowly repair themselves. Had the host not had the boon provided by the great God, the host would not be alive right now to discuss this situation. The host has been granted DP for killing a power mythical beast. That particular beast was quite powerful and is most likely the reason why the host has yet to run into any other great beast until now even though having already arrived in this location for over 9 hours before the battle. The Host was in a high level Mythical beasts' territory. The wilds are teeming with dangers that far surpass the host, but you can become prey to the strongest mythical and in rare cases calamity level Celestial beasts' territory.
Now that Damien thought about it, that dive he performed to dodge the to escape the claws of the creature on his surgically repaired knee shouldn't have been possible. "I mean, are you even supposed to do that? Won't your creator be upset with you for directly influencing events like this?" I guess the system began to repair my body the moment I arrive on this horror show planet. I guess I should be thankful for this so-called great God for the boon, but it's their fault that I'm in this mess, to begin with. Damien thought angrily. "That was an extremely close call. I am still exhausted and barely able to move." Damien continued thinking to himself.
(Ting) No, I will not be reprimanded, I acted within my programming to attempt to preserve the Host until his mission begins. At this time that has not happened. Yes, the host will need more time to rest due to the host casting of a spell that is much higher than the hosts' current level in addition to the battle. The host is lucky to not have received any permanent magical backlash due to the host's low level and the type of high-level air magic manipulation that occurred. This process normally results in days and weeks of recovery time with that spell class if a mage is not at the correct casting level. This must've also been because of the provided boon. Also, The System again recommends building a shelter. A wooden structure can be built instantaneously with the assistance of the System. The system can do so for the host while he rests.
"Do it" Damien mumbled and winced, due to his body being in too much pain at the moment. Even that hurt. Again Damien began to drift off a while hearing the sounds of earthmoving and walls growing around him. unable to stay conscious any longer as he drifted off into painful slumber once again.

A group of people dies in a plane crash, but their souls are snatched away by an entity called the Highest One, that wants to make them the gods of a new world in order to guide and control its population. One of the passengers, Viktor, protests this, saying that the people of the new world should be entitled to find their own path in life without immortal beings ruling over them. The Highest One then ask Viktor if he really has that much faith in humanity, and after Viktor answer positively he made him into the God of Hell, tasked with redeeming the souls of the damned, as a way to test Viktor's faith in humanity...
