《Dragon's Misery》Retaliation.

Profion got up and saw that everything around him was destroyed, pulverized and that instead of the castle, there were 5 big craters.
The glass had melted like flesh, stones and pulverized rocks. The dragons had run away. And a mass of people shredded, some of them grumbling, cut in half. Carnage.
The kingdom was destroyed.
He used his sceptre and helped raise the survivors.
The outbuildings and taverns were turned into a field hospital and the remaining troops searched the rubble.
The remaining officials and noblemen rallied behind Profion, who declared himself the new ruler of the kingdom. All the members of the royal family who had perished, the high nobility and all the inhabitants became one with Profion:
Vengeance.
Their investigation was short and the evidence of a ballistic plume indicated the location of the Black Fortress.
A gigantic army, never seen before, stood up and marched on the fortress.
We were about 50 dragons. And a few eggs. That was all we could save.
We made some jars/bombs and because we didn't have any chemicals, we put some iron straw, aluminum straw and some active ingredients mixed with the flammable saliva of the dragons. The jars had a detonator made of black powder with some nitro in a glass capsule . A long bombardment of the advancing troops began. We dropped in the fog so they didn't see us coming and we aimed at the campfires at night.
We managed to destroy about a quarter of the troops, but there were thousands of them. All the kingdoms converged and we sabotaged the fortress. When they moved in, everything would blow up and they with it and our knowledge too. It was not supposed to fall into their hands.
We fled with spells of invisibility that exhausted us to the remote and almost inaccessible mountain range.
Two days later, we heard a mega boom. They must have reached the dungeon or they thought they had cornered us.
We scattered into 5 tribes of 10 individuals, the 5 of us stayed together with 5 other dragons and my father and his 2 henchmen took care of the 40 other dragons.
We had peace for a few weeks, then months and we had no more news.
There was one tribe on the other side of the mountain, a little lower down, and we were higher up, on peaks and we were good.
It was like a chain of valleys in the high mountains that you could only get to by climbing cliffs.
It was like a natural fortress.
I had Fourreux who was like a teddy bear for us and my sister and I were falling for Fuchur who was cuddled between the two of us...
We really wanted to "try" Fuchur and he was cuddled between the two of us and our tails were intertwined and my sister and I had agreed to share him.

He climbed on top of my sister who shook my hands with hers and through her hands I understood the wave of pleasure that overwhelmed him. Quickly, my turn, He licked me everywhere and I felt his manhood approaching me and I was about to accept his invitation when suddenly I heard battle cries, I felt the burning flesh and the cries of a defeated beast.
Fu...!, do Ch...! Always at the best time!
I stormed out and I could see the dragons whirling and falling one by one into the valley floor. Then I took my binoculars and saw platforms levitating with knights of the magi and ballists attacking the low dens simultaneously.
The tribe of blood dragons was attacked as well as the tribe of water dragons. The red ones were flying and fighting but only the father's group was still flying because they had the anti-magic collars.
Downstairs was the butcher's shop.
Every dragon is important!
I pulled out my 88mm Rifles, if you can call it a rifle but for me it is. For them it's a very accurate cannon and it's basic anti-aircraft. It could hit any target accurately to 2000 meters and a range of 4000 to 5000 meters. I used melee ammunition: the shell head would open and at 2000 metres it would make a round 8 metres in diameter with a mini tile every 10 centimetres. An anti-aircraft flail and to fire into the heap of immense damage. The kinetics could overcome any magic barrier as they were imbued with anti-magic.
I aimed at the ascending platform and pulled the trigger. A Blam. Then I reloaded and aimed at the other platform. I actually aimed at the wizard in the center so that the magic would stop and everyone would fall over the precipice.
BANG! The first impact struck the wizard and the knights saw holes in their armor and made a second one after they were pierced and collapsed on the bridge and, as the mana source stopped, the fall was terrible. We saw the wooden platform with the crystal in the middle tumbling down the precipice and with a crash of a cart it was silent.
Another platform came towards us at full speed but I threw a grenade like a mash press and took refuge in the cave. But no one went down into the cave. What came down was the platform full of dragon hunters, hungry for treasure.
My friends had been captured, so I rushed in and dropped one of the last bombs I had left in case there was carnage down there. The bomb was a blast bomb and would normally hit or hurt barely the dragons unless they were hit in the face, but it would send the humans with less mass several meters away.

I was received by a rain of arrows coming from below and I dropped my last phosphorus bomb. It must have weighed about 250 kilos.
The bows and arrows of the archers burst into flames and I threw some fireballs into the heap.
The other dragons did the same and the attack was repulsed.
I had saved my mana on purpose!
Father and friends, protect me, I will use all my magic to save the dying dragons.
Auberone took care of the minor and major care of the wings of the medium wounded and I had 2 dragons lying in their blood, one with its throat cut and the other impaled by a harpoon. They were living their last moments, crying like children.
For the first time I cast the terrible restoration spell on the two dragons and, miraculously, their wounds were closed and they began to breathe normally again.
All the dragons helped each other for the first time in history and we shared the upper dens. We took the eggs and put them in the magical spaces.
From now on, our species is considered extinct. We no longer knew how to raise young and with each death we came closer to total eradication.
We rested and dressed our wounds.
But we had taken prisoners with the archers.
And the dragons turned to me as if I were their queen.
"Vermithraxa, we all owe you our lives! But how are we going to do it? We don't know how to live like this anymore! said a small group of forest dragons.
Me: "We have prisoners. These people want gold to survive. Let's prove to them that we're not monsters. But we can't let them get away with this. Break their thumbs! At least they won't be soldiers or archers anymore. They can still hunt and live, but they can't climb no more and piss us off."
A train of screams was heard and they were tossed manu militari into a lake. So much for those who kept their armor. Plop!
We healed our wounds and we were all filled with fear, sorrow and anxiety.
Then I said, we have to move camp and we're going to wear them out. Our trump card: flying long distances.
The kingdoms can't mobilize thousands of men non-stop, climbing mountains and all the heavy capture infrastructure (ballista, harpoon runic nets and all the stewardship that goes with it.
Thus, they flew as nomads from mountain to mountain, in a totally random manner.
We went to desert regions, then to impenetrable jungle, then to islands. The islands allowed us to be the quietest for the longest time.
I made saliva bombs again, but I no longer had the infrastructure or the tools to do as before. But I kept a mould and I made amphoras with 2 rings to pass the legs and clamps inside and the tip was like a flint hammer to trigger on impact and then we used quartz powder in a clay tube with a bubble of saliva as a detonator.
We had the big amphora to bombard and the inside was filled with sharp gravel and the bottles to throw like grenades. And finally the Molotov dragon cocktail, a mixture of 50% explosive and 50% incendiary.
All the dragons had to carry Molotov cocktails with them.
It saved their breath and gave them more stamina. The big problem with dragons is stamina! Our big bodies had to consume mana and resources all the time.
The problem had become a war of attrition.
We had to feed and store and rest. But we were getting hungry and exhausted.
And no allies and no helpers. Possible. We were alone in the world, desperate
It reminded me of the dinosaur death march in the fantasia cartoon.
Then we moved on to random raids! We destroyed the grain silos on the eve of winter in commando operations and attacked the cattle instead of the wildlife we were saving.
We burned the barns, never the houses or the small farms.
And always random material in the lonely corners.
Our motto was: LIFE BEFORE EVERYTHING! NO RISK!
We even helped brigands by bombing the knights.
Our guerrilla strategy paid off, as the attacks became less frequent and led the kingdom to financial ruin.
I once laid a manacom at the foot of a hunter's guild leader.
I explained to him that if the dragons disappeared, so did their trade!
And I made them a proposal: We ravage a farming area. The hunters are paid by the village or the town. The hunters come and put up dragon scarecrows (pennants that are useless) and shoot some arrows and some firecrackers or to make a mock battle and we go and loot somewhere else and they get paid handsomely for hunting dragons for a year or two. they were happy and we were a little more reassured that they were less violent. Their extermination attacks were replaced by expulsion attacks and everyone was happy about that. Except Profion.
Finance, the new council began to doubt the dragon slayers and began to make elite dragon slayer soldiers.
A few poor dragon souls who had stashed them away paid the price.
But this time something different happened.
A space probe went through here!

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
