While Morgana’s group is engaged with the other members of Fang. Brayno and Ringorne went towards a different part of the forest. There, the two former best friends drew their swords, aimed at each other.

“This is unlike any battle we faced before.”, said Brayno.

“We could have clashed like the old times, but you have changed.”, said Ringorne.

“No, WE have changed. We turned from our old goals into more radical ones.”, said Brayno.

“We need to survive, Brayno. Our survival depends on how we evolve. The idea of changing was not mine. It was yours.”, said Ringorne.

“I know. I’m the one who started this dangerous path to our group. I was the one who wanted revenge on the death of Binshil. It was me who wanted to destroy the village. To inflict pain onto others, but that brought nothing but sorrow.”, said Brayno.

“You don’t suggest something you yourself cannot follow. You are the worst among us. You set us down this path, but you’re also the one who now tries to stop us.”, said Ringorne.

“And that is why I’ll defeat you.”, said Brayno

“You never defeated me. And that won’t change after this battle.”, said Ringorne.

“Maybe you’re right about that, but I have been training all my life to surpass you.”, said Brayno.

“I should know. We were closer than brothers. I know just how determined you can be.”, said Ringorne.

“Less time for talking, more time for fighting then, Ringorne.”, said Brayno.

“I will personally destroy you.”, said Ringorne.

The two old friends drew their swords, aimed against each other. Ringorne was the first one to make a move against his old friend.

SWORD STYLE: SLICE AND DICE

With a swinging motion, he lunged towards Brayno. Attacking him with all his might, Ringorne managed to cut off all the trees surrounding Brayno. However, Brayno managed to dodge and block most of his friend’s attacks.

“My turn.”, said the swordsman.

SWORD STYLE: SLICER

With a large swing, Brayno attacked Ringorne, slicing the trees surrounding him. Just like Brayno, Ringorne managed to dodge the attack from his friend.

“Still sharp as ever.”, said Ringorne.

“You’re still as strong as ever.”, said Brayno.

“Someone like you will never defeat me.”, said Ringorne.

“I will defeat you.”, said Brayno.

With determination in their eyes, both yelled,

SWORD STRIKE: FINALE

Both combatants rushed towards each other, with the intent of finishing the other. With their blades clashing, both wondered if this is the end of their long friendship. Brayno and Ringorne wondered what went wrong during the past year to make them fight to the death.

While the two titans of Fang were clashing against one another, Lance and Ulmar were having their clash against one another. Much like Brayno and Ringorne, the two moved towards a different part of the Amarino forest. The two went to a rare forest clearing near a river. Before they resumed their battle, Ulmar switched back to his human form.

“At least the trees won’t get damaged here.”, said Ulmar.

“I’m starting to believe you, when you said that you were previously a monk.”, said Lance.

“Yeah, and it is a complete irony that I am facing a Holy Knight.”, said Ulmar.

“A clash between two different fighting styles utilizing an almost similar philosophy.”, said Lance.

“Indeed.”, said Ulmar.

“It’s a shame that I have to knock out a person such as yourself.”, said Lance.

“I can always say the same thing.”, said Ulmar.

Ulmar made a move against his opponent. Once again Ulmar transformed into a large bear, and yelled,

BEAR CLAWS: FURY SWIPES

Ulmar went on to attack Lance, swiping at his shield and armor. His swipes were strong enough to dent his opponent’s gear.

Damn, the swipes are strong enough to scratch my shields. I need to do something about it., thought Lance.

Lance placed his shield above him to counter the swipes of his opponent, and chanted,

Light, bestow upon me this golden armor, heed me, and strengthen my shield

SHIELD SMASH LEVEL 1

Pouring energy into his shield, Lance smashed it to the face of Ulmar. The strength of his attack managed to knock down the bear.

“Hahahahahaha. You really are a promising holy knight. I’m going to enjoy this.”, said Ulmar.

BEAR FISTS: STRAIGHT PUNCH

With force behind him, Ulmar punched Lance straight in his chest, knocking him back a few meters. Crashing into a tree, Lance coughed out blood. Clutching his chest, Lance breathes heavily. Standing up, he stood in front of Ulmar. Once again, he raised his shield to defend himself.

“You really are strong. But to assist my leader in her quest to become the strongest sorcerer in the world, I need to be stronger.”, said Lance.

“A very determined knight. You’re not the only one with that dream. Fang will be the strongest group in the world.”, said Ulmar.

“Sadly, one dream will die here.”, said Lance.

“Unfortunately, it will be yours.”, said Ulmar.

The two continued their clash, with Ulmar’s fist colliding with Lance’s shield. Although the shield is made of strong metal, the strength of Ulmar’s bear form makes it hard for Lance to match his attacks.

I need to be stronger. If I would become a guardian worthy of being called a holy knight, I cannot lose this fight

With all his might, he pushed Ulmar back to a large tree using his strength and shield. Crashing into the tree, Ulmar smiled towards his opponent. He declared,

“Impressive strength, kid. As a sign of respect, I would use all my might against you.”, said Ulmar.

Ulmar roared and gathered his strength. As Lance looked at his opponent, he saw the muscle mass of Ulmar’s bear form increase. The bear’s eyes became more furious and felt more dangerous.

BEAR CLAWS: ULTRA SLAP

Raising his claw, Ulmar went on and struck his opponent. Sensing the danger of his opponent’s attack, Lance ducked and evaded the attack of Ulmar. Lance then concentrated his energies towards his armor, to strengthen it.

Light feel me with sanctuary, surround my body with your blessing, go forth give me your veil

ARMOR OF LIGHT

With his armor glowing, Lance prepared himself against his opponent. With Ulmar’s strength greatly increased, Lance hoped that his armor would provide adequate protection against Ulmar’s bear form.

“Hahahahahaha. Simply going on defense won’t help you kid.”, taunted Ulmar.

“Who says that I’m simply going on defense?”, said Lance.

“Other than pushing me with your shield, what attack have you done?”, said Ulmar.

“Well, you’re about to find out.”, said Lance.

SHIELD BOOMERANG

Lance threw his shield towards Ulmar, who simply ducked the attack. But, as soon as Ulmar dodged the attack from Lance’s shield, a charging knight tackled him down. With his enhanced armor, Lance has managed to bring his opponent down to the ground.

Now heavily bruised and full of scratches, Ulmar stood up and faced his opponent. Suddenly, he crouched and as it turns out, the shield boomerang of Lance failed, since Ulmar’s enhanced senses in his bear form made him hear the shield bouncing back to his owner.

“Thought you would fall for it.”, said Lance.

“Don’t mistake me for a dumbass.”, said Ulmar.

“Yeah. A fool, you are not.”, said Lance.

“Good for you. At least you are aware of your opponent.”, said Ulmar.

Now determined to finish his opponent off, Lance brought out his mace, and made a chant towards it.

Light of fury, give me strength. Provide me your glory and destroy my enemies

MACE OF LIGHT: STRIKE LEVEL 2

With his mace glowing, Lance prepared to attack his opponent. Charging towards Ulmar, Lance prepared for a final attack. Sensing that his opponent is going to give his all in the next attack, Ulmar bulked up even more, prepared to face him in a battle.

BEAR FIST: RIGHT ARM FIST

Now pouring his all in the next attack, Ulmar also looks to knock out his opponent.

“Come on, kid, show me what you’ve got.”, yelled Ulmar.

“I’m going to make sure that Morgana has the strongest guild in the world.”, said Lance.

“Hahahahahahaha. You better hope that your determination is stronger than mine.”, said Ulmar.

“Just like your group, I was driven by vengeance, I don’t want hate to dominate someone’s thought.”, said Lance.

“You don’t know real pain.”, said Ulmar.

“Oh, I do. My entire kingdom and squadron was destroyed thanks to someone I used to call as friend.”, said Lance.

“So you do understand sorrow. To be honest, I am jealous that you manage to remove your anger.”, said Ulmar.

“It’s still there. But I will never let it consume me.”, said Lance.

“Hmph. Let’s see who among us would have the strongest will to win then.”, said Ulmar.

“Agreed. The strongest among us will win.”, said Lance.

As the two got closer to one another, fist meeting mace, Lance and Ulmar stared at one another. Lance swung his mace towards Ulmar’s fist, and with the two attacks meeting one another, the force of the clash caused a large wind and dust to flow across the battlefield.

When the dust cleared, one of the two was standing, and the other knocked out by the blow of his opponent’s attack. After the final attack, Ulmar has transformed back into his human form.

At the end, it was the holy knight who is standing tall against his opponent.

“You really are a strong opponent, Ulmar of the Fang of the Sabres. I hope that you and your companions would get rid of the hate surrounding you.”

ULMAR DEFEATED

At a different location, Musa and Lakish were facing each other. After seeing the speed of his opponent, Musa decided to have a more tactical approach against his opponent.

“You won’t beat me, old man.”, taunted Lakish.

“Don’t ever conclude that you can defeat me, youngster. Arrogance can be your downfall.”, said Musa.

“You will never outspeed me, old man.”, said Lakish.

“In a duel, speed is not everything.”, said Musa.

“But it will help me crush you.”, said Lakish.

“I have hunted youngsters with more ego than yours. You are going to be the latest one who would regret messing with me.”, said Musa.

“Maybe I should use two runeblades against you.”, said Lakish.

“Dual wielder huh? This is going to be fun.”, said Musa.

RUNE MAGIC: DOUBLE SWINGS

Lakish went on the offensive, attacking Musa with speedy swings. Sacrificing strength for speed, Lakish hoped that the attacks would wear Musa down, but the experienced runewielder merely yelled,

A straight slash was aimed towards Lakish, cutting down the trees in the forest. Much like the earlier attack against him, Lakish was fast enough to dodge the attack against him.

A clearly frustrated Lakish lashed out at his opponent, yelling,

“Old man! You relic! Die!”

“Hahahahahahaha. You have yet to face a challenging opponent kid. Clearly, you keep using your own tactics against someone else. Start using different type of attacks kid. If you want to defeat me, speed should not be your only weapon.”, said Musa.

“I don’t care about what you think, old man. I will destroy you.”, said Lakish.

“Young people, you are all so brash. Although, to be fair, it was young people who restored my will to fight strong opponents. Maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh on you kid.”, said Musa.

“Don’t you dare patronize me.”, said Lakish.

“But I’m not, you’re just a kid who is in over his head. And my job is to make sure that you won’t make the same mistakes that I did in my youth.”, said Musa.

“Mistakes, huh? You are all the same. You keep claiming that you are teaching us, but you are also the ones who keep on giving us pain. What am I supposed to do? Listen and get betrayed or listen and still get lectured upon. No, I would do what I want, and what I want is to defeat you and become a famous runewielder.”, said Lakish.

“Being a dual runewielder at your age is impressive enough, but it is also a heavy burden. That is why I want you to let go of your hate and anger. I want you to get better.”, said Musa.

“Why would you want me to get better.”, said Lakish.

“Because we might fail, and it is the job of the older to teach the younger.”, said Musa.

“Even if you are right. Beating you would make me a great amount of fortune.”, said Lakish.

“That is true. I do have somewhat of a reputation amongst hunters in your world.”, said Musa.

“And that is why I’m going to beat you.”, declared Lakish.

“You really need some humble pie.”, said Musa.

“I already tasted it.”, said Lakish

“Well then, let’s continue.”, said Musa.

Lakish went on the offense, ready to defeat his opponent. With a furious yell, he said,

With his two runeblades glowing, Lakish went on the offensive and aimed at Musa. The veteran wielder on the other hand managed to block the attacks coming from his younger opponent. But the speed and the ferocity of Lakish’s attack gave pause at Musa.

He is young and brash, but he is talented. But I will show him why he needs to listen to his elders

Musa lunged towards his opponent with the intent of finishing him off. Despite his respect towards the kid, he needs to defeat him. While they were on their way to rescue Brayno, Vivien explained to the group that Fang intends to destroy her village due to the perceived betrayal of Brayno, and as a form of revenge against the world.

Nothing personal kid, but no village should be destroyed due to your petty revenge

Musa then yelled,

RUNE MAGIC: SHADOW CHARGE

Charging towards his opponent, Musa swung at Lakish. Although defiant to the end, the kid was unable to dodge the attack from the runewielder. It seems that Musa’s Shadow Charge was faster than Lakish’s speed.

The attack managed to wound Lakish. As the younger runewielder clutched his chest, he felt blood. Seeing the blood dripping from his chest, Lakish yelled. In a desperation move, Lakish poured all his magical energy into his rune blades.

RUNE MAGIC: DOUBLE BLADE SUPER STABS

Lakish went into an offensive flurry against his opponent, with stabbing motions in every attack. In the attack, Lakish went with the intent of finishing his opponent. The stabbing motion in each attack is so fast that Musa is seeing multiple blades attack simultaneously.

However, Musa realized that Lakish is sacrificing his running and evading abilities with this attack. He really is giving his all in the fight against the veteran runewielder. Smiling to himself, he yelled,

RUNE MAGIC: SHADOW SLASH

With enough strength placed on his attack, Musa slashed Lakish, knocking him out.

“You still have a bright future ahead of you, kid.”

LAKISH DEFEATED.
