《World of Six Civilizations》Chapter 40 - Support Arrived

The Shadow Wolf had already taken control of the Quartermaster Chief. As long as he had the warriors protecting him and the orcs he could employ, he might one day become the chief of the tribe. Maybe their tribe would be burned to the ground, but the Main Orc Tribe needed someone to provide the supplies they wanted each month.
Before the crowd of orcs fleeing the battle had not yet taken a thousand steps, they found a dark green wall in front of them. Butcher Haydo, whose tribe had been torn apart and stabbed in the back to die, was unaware of this and cried out in pain and despair.
"Whoever you are and you are still here! Please save my warriors!"
Adhemar burst into laughter at the call from the group he had slowly slain as he watched the crowd of orcs fleeing without looking back.
"They are miserable you! Do you know how much money I spent to stay in this stinking place for even less than a second?"
As the young mage laughed angrily, there was no way those around him knew the meaning behind his words. He was crucial in his cultivation when he learned that he would be sent to this place on the other side of the world by his master.
To not lose this period, every moment of which is so precious, he had lost a large number of development resources because he bought a few war machines. Although he couldn't rebel against his master because he had to choose between time and cultivation resources, he wanted to unleash his anger by inflicting pain on the orcs.
"I will kill you all slowly and painfully. Even a handful of cowards standing before a genius like me deserves the worst punishment!"
Hearing the humiliation from the enemy front, Haydo the Butcher hung his head and awaited death while the battlefield shook like lightning.
"Attack!"
The orcs fled, abandoning their friends on the front to their fate, watching the massive rocks rising from behind the wall in front of them.
The battlefield, which had become silent with the surprise created by the floating rocks, would return to its old chaos when the same rocks found their targets.

At the end of this short period, a war machine would become unusable, while a second rock attack would strain the nerves on the Nikonian front.
"Where do these goddamn rocks come from? Who is throwing these big things?"
Adhemar spoke, looking at the commanders beside him, but the answer he wanted would not come. How could the commanders of the Nikonian army know that Alyon might have built more than fifty catapults?
"Nafız, these weapons are as good as you describe. They took a long time to make, but the effects were incredible."
Alyon called to Nafız, with whom they watched the course of the war together. When there was no answer, he turned his head, but she was not in Nafız's place.
"Who are you? Open the road; can't you see the huge army behind us?"
The fugitive orcs were banging helplessly at the oval-shaped shields in front of them as Nafız swiftly leaped over the wall. While the orcs attacking the armor made of tortoiseshell, which could not be scratched even with the equipment provided by the reward dungeon, were gasping for breath, the two people who appeared out of nowhere barged in questions.
"Kill anyone who gets in your way. We don't need these scumbags!"
Her disciple, Sangre, who followed her, shook his head as if he understood his master's order and started to move his knives around him, cutting off the questioning orcs first.
With his new daggers, which he called the Black Death, Nafız marched in a straight line, indiscriminately killing any orcs that stood in his way. The blood warrior Sangre didn't move his bow, but his six throwing blades cut the orcs like grass, and he followed his master's shadow.
Meanwhile, after half of the war machines, the target of intense and accurate shots, were destroyed, the others retreated with quick maneuvers. Seizing this opportunity, Butcher Haydo and his warriors escaped to the front of the tribe, saving their lives.
When Nafız saw the warriors frozen with fear when she came to the battlefield, she spat on the ground with an angry look.
"You cowards! How can you wait here when your friends are dying?

When the words of Nafız, dressed in the air of carnage, were finished, Sangre also turned his throwing knives at the crowd. Seeing his master's intentions as a command, the Blood Warrior walked towards the group, but Haydo the Butcher's voice rang in his ear.
"I ordered them to retreat, and they followed the orders! Please spare their lives."
Although it was surprising that the vicious and stubborn Butcher Haydo lowered his head in front of the female orc dripping with blood from her daggers, there was a perfect reason behind this behavior.
No matter how frightening the appearances of the two warriors standing in front of him, not even a trace of it could be read next to the scene that had formed behind them.
As they made their way among the panicked orcs, a garden of newly bloomed poppies stood out in the barren land behind them due to the small-scale slaughter they made.
"Throwdown the weapons in your hands and kneel! Anyone who disobeys my command will be killed."
While all this was happening at the front, those behind were engaged in a different occupation. The high-shielded troop surrounded them as Pigtail shouted at the fugitive orcs. When the encircled fugitives tried to resist the warriors who had come between them to tie them up, they were surprised by the arrows raining down on them.
"We have no time to waste with you. Either obey the order or die!"
One of the warriors who had surrounded the group spoke after breaking the neck of the fleeing orc with a rigid shield blow.
Alyon and his troops were descending on the battlefield while the fugitives, whose resistance was broken after the second arrow attack, were tied up one by one. Seeing thousands of orcs acting as a regular army, the Nikonians did not know what to do and began to argue among themselves.
"Don't panic! Just because they destroy a few toys doesn't mean they'll win the war!"
While watching with pleasure that the war plan he had devised was implemented perfectly, Adhemar was very angry at the state of affairs and spoke without revealing it to his surroundings.
The Nikonia front, which attacked with its army of five thousand, lost its main attack force, the war machines, although the number of soldiers did not decrease much.
The Nikonian commanders knew very well that if the suddenly appeared reinforcements engaged in a slaughter war with the orcs, who numbered approximately ten thousand, they would end up with death.
"Sir, should we retreat? With reinforcements, the orcs will begin a war of attrition."
As the Nikonia soldiers made suggestions to Adhemar, who was looking away, they would have fled without looking back if they knew he was considering killing everyone on the battlefield. Angry at the point of events, the mage had exhausted his patience and made plans to destroy the enemy, regardless of his identity being revealed.
"No! All troops attack!"
Climbing on top of his war machine, Adhemar was determined to eliminate all witnesses before gathering energy for a large-scale magic attack. The death of thousands of these ants was no different than the orders of his master.
When the warriors of the two sides collided, he would finish the job by launching a significant area attack with a radius of one hundred paces. Killing the hundreds of witnesses left behind was as easy as breathing for a mage of his skill.
The tricky part was that the preparation time for large-scale magic attacks was long. Adhemar, who had to stand still for a hundred breaths and gather his strength, should not be disturbed.
While the troops he had made an all-out attack to escalate the war again, he took his wand out of the ring between the fields and began to utter incantations.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
