《World of Six Civilizations》Chapter 25 - Last Meal

As the inhabitants of the city of Nikonia woke up to an ordinary day, as usual, the Gulag began to shout with sleepless eyes. The voice of the older man running like a child with the elixir in his hand awakened Nafız.
"We got it, ok. You did it; stop yelling. Come to me, and I have issues to talk to you."
The Gulag, rushing with his gray robe off him, suppressed his excitement and began walking to the female orc, which had just woken up from sleep.
"Congratulations, handsome, you made the serum, but do you have a plan for its application?"
After his initial enthusiasm subsided, the Gulag began to speak his mind.
"Sir, Godfrey has been looking for a potion that will strengthen him for many years. I've had some concessions all this time with the promise of being able to deliver this. I have received a recipe that gave its user a great deal of power for a short time, but unfortunately, some parts are missing."
Nafız, realizing the situation, threw the tube containing a transparent mixture at the Gulag.
"There is a drug in the tube that will show the effects you want much better, but the destruction it will create on the user reaches incredible dimensions in a short time. After applying this to the city lord, try not to be hit by him. Otherwise, I can guarantee you will die. "
As Nafız and the Gulag continued their conversation, Alyon slowly came out of the recess resting. His bloodshot eyes signaled he hadn't slept all night, and the big orc could not walk in a straight line.
Seeing him, the Gulag left as he came quietly next to Nafız and sat down.
"Nafız, I looked at my master's life all night and saw that his enemies eventually defeated even such a wonderful person. No matter how much I think about it, I have only been able to find two things that could cause this. Loneliness and loyalty!"
Since they were the future heirs of the Mora and Alyon communities, it was not possible to have many people around them. Most of their lives had passed through rigorous training and combat training. While this situation prevented friends around them who would support them, it also ensured the emergence of those who harbored grudges from within.

"I decided to keep the person with us as much as we can who have proven their loyalty and to fight the enemy together in case of mortal danger. From now on, I will continue my journey in the light of these principles. "
Nafız slapped Alyon on the neck, who finished his words.
"Bighead, I guess you have a little brain!"
The sound made people who had not yet woken up start the day. Gathering in the large courtyard, people lined up to get a porridge-like dish on their plates. Nafız moved on to the food line as the demons threw various body parts at the semi-conscious creatures.
"If we are successful, you will not have any shortage of food from now on, but otherwise, this dish will probably be your last meal."
Initially happy with Nafız's words, the crowd later fell into pessimism because of what they heard.
"If there is a chance that it will be your last meal, then you will eat like a king!"
The crowd shouted in amazement as the wild creature threw their flesh in front of them. The dungeon's contents had been malnourished for a long time, and when they saw meat, they could not contain their screams. Tears flowed from the eyes of some people as they toppled the cauldron in which the porridge was cooked and threw the monster meat into it.
While the people who lived in the dark cave cheerfully ate their meals, the Gulag set out with two inmates to go to the city lord. Accompanied by a group of soldiers waiting at the dungeon entrance, they passed through the palace and reached the city lord's chamber door.
"Lord Gulag has come, sir."
The gate guard let in the news of the incoming group, and a short response followed immediately.
"Send him in!"
As the Gulag entered the throne room with the prisoners tied up in purple handcuffs, Godfrey gently put the spoon in his hand on the table.
In front of this scene, Nafız leaned towards her friend's ear and said, "I think today will be someone's last meal.
Godfrey, blending his tongue between his teeth, wiped his mouth around the sleeve of his robe and spoke.

"Yesterday, when I heard you rescued the two Orcs from execution at the castle gate, I couldn't believe it, but I see that not only did you bring them to my throne room."
The Gulag immediately banged one knee to the ground and started talking.
"My great lord, what was said is accurate but incomplete. An object in the hands of these two barbarians was the only missing ingredient of the medicine I had been struggling with for years. I had to work on them all night and keep them in my dungeon to give you good news. "
When the Gulag finished his words, Godfrey scattered whatever he hadn't swallowed yet.
"Is it ok? Am I finally getting the medicine I have been waiting for for years? Do you know this is no joke, Gulag? "
"Of course, there are two doses available. I tried to do my best for you in this short time. "
With a signal from the Gulag, the guards threw the two Orcs face down.
"I wanted to cheer up this beautiful day a little more by giving the punishment of these two wilds in front of you, my lord."
The Gulag gave a great laugh pointing at the Orcs lying on the ground. Contrary to the scene seen from the outside, the skinny man's joy was because he threw the two Orcs at a distance that would neutralize the city lord.
The laughter of the Gulag, who had observed the two movements for a while, started to become unpleasant with each passing moment. This was because the two, who were supposed to catch the city lord, were lying without raising their heads in the place where they fell.
"How many people are there," Alyon said quietly as laughter echoed in the room.
"Eight people are lurking in the shadows. Half of them are at the master soldier level. What are so many experts doing in such a secluded city? "
As the two were within the range of intervention, many previously unnoticeable aura began to spread from various corners of the room. Although the owners of auras couldn't prevent Nafız from this distance, their plans to turn the city lord into a puppet were inevitable if they escaped.
"Let's observe the flow of events a little more."
After Alyon spoke in a whisper, he stood up as if he was struggling with the trick. The last state of the two Orcs made the city lord's smile grow. Turning to the skinny old man, "Gulag, I guess you didn't leave your demons idle while you worked all night?"
"Sir, my dungeon is a place where I make hell in this world for anyone who disobeys your orders," said the Gulag, who bowed his head slightly at the compliment of the city lord.
"Good, very good. Now I want to enjoy the long-awaited moment. Bring the medicine, my dear servant! "
Unaware of the presence of the warriors inside the room, the Gulag began walking towards the city lord. The city lord's expression suddenly changed as he removed the medicine from the womb. "You will administer the medicine first to yourself," said the city lord, staring into the Gulag's eyes as if he had heard something.
The Gulag predicted that the city lord might want to try the drug on someone else first, but he never thought it would be the person himself. At that moment, some of the words he heard before echoed in his mind.
"However, the destruction it will create on the user reaches incredible dimensions in a short time."
The Gulag, who spent most of his days in the dark and damp dungeon, was physically weak. He knew that if he suffered the side effects of the drug, he would not survive.
The Gulag, who had to consider many possibilities in a short time, was startled by the high-pitched voice coming from where the prisoners were.
"Hey skinny old man, was the medicine you bought for the city lord and your pesky birds? What happened? Are you not doing well with each other lately? "
