《World of Six Civilizations》Chapter 18 - The Defense is My Specialty

When Alyon came out of the tent with his guests, the tribe was in a state of war. As the bandits' spokesperson shouted again to make his final warning, they sat down in the prepared places for them.

"This is my last warning to you! Throw your weapons and kneel, or we'll rupture the bodies of all the Orcs in your tribe!"

Frightened by the threats of the bandits, Dimitri made an offer to Chief Alyon.

"Chief, let me speak to these bandits. Our guild is under the protection of mercenaries. I can prevent this incident before it grows."

Alyon never spoke at Dimitri's suggestion, making the go-ahead gesture, leaving the stage to him.

"Red Storm's spokesman, I am the merchant Dimitri of the Golden Leaf trade guild. I am in this tribe to make a commercial deal. Don't you know that if something happens to me, you can't get rid of it? "

When Dimitri finished his words, he thought he had no reason to fear the bandits. Although bandit groups often robbed traveler passengers, few had dared to do so when it came to merchants. The last time these brave men suffered was the murder of all their families, including their third-degree relatives.

"Dear merchant, this is a problem between the Orc tribe and our brotherhood. Your presence here is an entirely unforeseen misfortune. "

Pausing his speech, the spokesperson continued, pretending to remember something suddenly.

"If I'm not mistaken, they told you when leaving Nikonia that the Orc tribes were uncanny these days. In the footage I watched, it was clear that you didn't pay much attention to this warning! "

Dimitri was shocked by what he heard. He never thought that the bandits could introduce spies among the city guards. Worst of all, these bandits had evidence of being warned. He knew very well that his guild would not work for a second-rate merchant under these circumstances.

Reviewing the possibilities in a short time, Dimitri turned to Chief Alyon and said, "Great chief, my locomotive can take two more people. With you and the female Orc next to you, we can break through the siege in defense mode."

Alyon got up and walked towards Dimitri. Alyon tapped the merchant on the shoulder and handed him a container of water to calm down.

"My dear friend, calm down. Your property and life are under my protection. Would you please sit in your seat? You will be very interested in what we will experience soon. I am sure of that! "

The relaxed manners of the chief made the merchant nervous a little more upset.

"Chief Alyon, these bandits have spies in the city guards. If we die, nobody will be able to blame them. We have to escape from here as fast as possible. "

As Dimitri was sweating coldly, Alyon began to speak with a very harsh expression on his face, in contrast to the attitude he had taken all day.

"In my opinion, the situation may be even more serious than you think, dear friend. I assume you have not witnessed a real battle of orcs in these steppes, where you have been trading for many years. Please keep calm and look forward to what will happen soon."

The severe speech of the chief shook the merchant. He sat down next to his apprentice Sasha, assured that he might escape if things didn't go as predicted. Meanwhile, the bandits' spokesperson was furious that he could not answer and spoke with utter ecstasy.

"I accept that your last word is no. We will not leave a single one of you alive here toda…"

Before the spokesman spoke, a whistling arrow hit his throat.

"How dare a group of bandits to threaten our tribe? If you have the courage, stop talking and come to your death."

Sangre roared in anger, lifting his bow in the air. The earth was shaking as the cries of the warriors accompanied the conclusion of his speech. When Sangre discovered the unique sensitivity that his senses gained after blood baptism, he decided to train himself in archery. His current talent was to hit the eye of a bird flying from three hundred meters.

When Red Tail saw that his spokesperson had been murdered, he has thoroughly enjoyed it.

"No one is in a position to hold me accountable anymore. I have a solid reason for revenge."

That was precisely the thought that resounded in his head.

"Brothers, today is a blood-shedding day. It is time for these wild creatures to take their miserable lives!"

''Attack!"

A force of one thousand men from within the band of bandits attacked the Orcs tribe. While the chief and his close crew got valuable loot among the bandits, the first attackers could loot a few things. Therefore, the first wave of the attack was quite crowded.

Behind a simple wooden fence, the Orcs were relatively calm, faced with the enemy who was rushing wildly at them. No one questioned this until the bandits, ten feet from the fence, saw the ground they stepped on to disappear from under their feet.

The bandits who ran in front of the first wave would be the most unfortunate people in this war. When they fell into the ditch, these people who were stuck in the stakes in them, even if they did not die at that moment, would not be able to speed up and would die in pain because of those who fell on them.

The ditches were half-filled until relentless bandits saw their path blocked by a deep trench. As the bandits stranded in deep pits stepped on each other to get out, Pigtail gave his order.

"Attack! Fill the ditches!"

Hearing the order, some of the Orcs in the front line of the defense dismantled the fences and launched a pile of rain on the survivors in the ditch. With their superior physical strength, the Orcs were hurling thick tree trunks like a light javelin throw.

While many bandits died from the attack above, some clung to the moat wall near the Orc tribe and escaped the stakes. As these clever bandits thought they got away with it, they started screaming with the heat that hit their brains.

Alyon had ordered that the viscera and tree resins of the wild creatures be boiled in large cauldrons. The liquids in the cauldrons hiding behind the fences were sending the survivors to hell.

"Warriors, take a defensive position! Archers shooting is free!"

Pigtail ordered the warriors, whose defensive fences were destroyed in front of them, to raise their shields and build a wall. Behind this wall, the archery troop began raining death on the first wave of thugs who did not fall into the ditch without worrying for their safety.

"Do not show mercy to this monkey herd who dare to attack our tribe! I want to see every arrow you shoot to take a life!"

Sangre, with its superior abilities, was leading the archers' unit. After the speech, which encouraged his unit, he started the attack with three arrows to his bow. Although the archers' crew consisted of people who had just received a month of training, the crowd running in front of them in amazement was a specific target even for them.

When those who started to flee backward gave their lives with their backs to archers, the bandits' first assault unit was killed to the last man. Dimitri was stunned by what happened, watching everything from a safe spot in front of the chief's tent.

"Chief Alyon, it is unbelievable that you could complete this much preparation in a month, but how could you predict such an event would happen?"

Sasha was also looking forward to the answer when the merchant asked the chief the question in his mind.

"Dimitri, this area is the most remote point in the Orc steppes, and you come here regularly for trade. Based on these two criteria, I would say that you are at most a second-tier trader."

When Alyon completes his words, he looks at Dimitri. When he saw the merchant shake his head, confirming what he had said, he continued his words.

"In the list we gave you, there were materials that were rare in this region or that people in this region have not even heard of. The fact that a second-rate merchant bought and ordered such materials, I guess, caught the attention of many people.

Dimitri realized that no matter how careful he was to supply the orders, it was impossible for the order not to attract attention due to itself. These bandits must have followed him the entire time. Dimitri was looking back and accounting for his experiences, but the others had to pay attention to the noise made by mechanical vehicles.
