"Drayton come here!" My brother was glad to see me safe after I had been kidnapped by the rebels.

"Come with me, we'll go to somewhere secure." I followed my brother to an elevator in the company that led down underground, we reached the secure place that my brother said. There were robot guards that looked like Proto but more battle ready.

"We can talk here without anyone hearing us." The room had a nice interior, it felt nostalgic for some reason.

"Brother you're scanning Proto right?" Proto was taken by my brother's guards to a special room to be scanned for any bugs or virus that might be implanted by the Atsugama rebels.

"How did you escape? Drayton, the Atsugama have many bases. They are an extensive and powerful organisation, a non-gifted like you could have managed to escape but the chances are slim." My brother was asking a bunch of questions at the same time, he had worried so much for me. I am truly grateful that he is my older brother.

"Brother thanks for worrying for me. Let me show you then." I had manifested my nunchuncks out from my inventory, it was like sub-space storage you would see in science fiction. My brother's eyes widened and his jaw dropped at the sight of my artificial system.

"What- How-" My brother was astonished by the new power I had recieved.

"It was from Boss Everts wasn't it." My brother put on a serious face now, he probably knew the gist of how I got my powers from Proto before we went into the rift world.

"I had went to the Techo World company building after I got the message from Proto, I was in charge of Boss Everts. I made sure to make him tell everything, I actually did not believe him when he said that you had an artificial system. I needed to confirm with you, its amazing." My brother had taken the papers concerning of the artificial system and the companies that were supporting this, he had read all the new powers that came with the new artificial system.

"Don't ever tell anyone else about this power, I will prepare a special programme for you to level up. I will protect you from those rebels, many people are going to come after you." My brother had discussed with me that he would bring monsters to a special room for me to kill so that I could level up, he would also remodel Proto for battle to protect me. He had me go stay in the room for a day while he prepared a better room for me, I checked my status panel to see my levels.

"I guess the system is not perfect, not being able to use magic might be bad in battle." I still had not recieved a class since you need to be at least level 20 to get a class recomendation, I had also not learnt any skills so I was still at beginners level.

"Oh yeah, the rewards." I had escaped from the Atsugama rebels twice so I got another emergency quest.

"Hm, these are quite good rewards." I had recieved the gold and looked through the weapon choice. I had a lot of choices, there were a lot of high-quality weapons I could use.

You chose the Magic Pistol that can manifest material as bullets for the gun, depending on the user the bullet can be as powerful and explosive as a tank shot. Level Required: None Buy [Y/N]?

"So I don't need any ammunition on this gun, that's good. The only detriment is that it has a cooldown of 1 minute after I empty the magazine, the cooldown will decrease as my level becomes higher." I had bought the pistol which was more handy and versatile in battle, now the only thing was choosing a skill.

The same with the weapon choice, I had a lot of skills to choose from. I could choose a strengthening skill or a skill that could involve nunchuncks, I chose a skill that would help me in a battle of modern weaponry. I could use my nunchuncks just fine, my strength would grow as I level up so I should get a skill that helped me in guns or anything modern.

"Okay that's all the rewards done, next time I get a skill i'll get something like engineering to upgrade my suit." It was a pretty crazy day, having the artificial system was fun though it was still a prototype. I slept in the room since I did not get sleep after I got kidnapped.

The next morning....

"Oi Drayton wake up, everything is ready." I was back in my house, my mom was serving a nice breakfast.

"Where am I?" I looked around, I found my body to be exactly how it was 10 years ago before the Rift.

"Mom where's brother? I thought you guys were in Korea for a vacation?" I went downstairs to eat breakfast.

"What? Your brother hasn't contacted us for years, why bring him up now." Mom's voice started to sound like a robot, then a notice appeared in front of me.

I saw my parents lying on the floor dead, my brother was on the floor crying. I went to him but he pushed me away, I looked at horror at my brother's face. He was covered in blood, no eyes and said.

"This is all your fault!"

"Gahhhh!Hah.. Hah.. Hah..!" I woke up, it was a nightmare. A knock came from the door, it was my brother.

"Drayton everything is all good to go, I got you a nice place to stay in for a while." My brother had a smile on his face, I hugged him tightly. Nothing bad will happen to my family, not on my watch.

"What's wrong? Suddenly hugging me, Haha. Come on let's go." My brother hugged me back and we proceeded to a chamber where all the monsters that he brought were there. He had caught golems, goblins, ghouls and even a lich.

"Well, I need you to level up since I won't be able to protect you all the time and I want to see the limits of this artificial system." I went into the chamber and summoned out my nunchuncks, the goblins were going to be my first opponents. My brother was watching from a window above the chamber.

[Drayton, these goblins are armed so be careful]

I heard my brother's voice from the speaker, it felt relaxing.

"Don't worry, I can deal with goblins." A group of 20 goblins came from the door, fully geared with iron weapons and armour. I readied my nunchuncks and turned on my camouflage of my battle suit, the goblins did not know what was coming. After 5 minutes, I had taken care of the goblin group easily. It was brutal, I smashed all their skulls, broke their spines. I even turned off my camouflage to making it more challenging, it may look like I was showing off but I just wanted to see the goblin's faces when they see me.

Next was the ghouls, they have a poisonous bite and they do not feel pain. Quite the interesting opponent, it was a good learning experience. They were much more nimble than the goblins but not any smarter, I ended them quickly with my magic pistol. The golems weren't any harder, I had a few sticky grenades. I blew them up easy. The hard one was the lich.

"Hahaa.. A mere mortal challenge me? Your aura is weird but not like the beast thaat captured me. Well no matter, I will end you!" The corpses of the ghouls and goblins began to rise as skeleton soldiers for the lich. It was amazing to see the dead rise back to life, I did not feel any fear.

"HaHaHa! This will be good!" Lichs need not to fear of death because physical attacks could not kill them but magic enchanted can hurt them, I took care of the skeleton minions first.

I realised that I could keep killing the skeleton minions repeatedly and still gain experience from them, no matter how many times I kill them. I was enjoying the smashing of bones, I felt all my pent-up rage and sorrow was being released.

"Monster! Why do you have a smile on your face? I am a lich! You can't kill me with your physical attacks." The Lich backed up after he saw me deal with his minions for 2 hours, I had easily overpowered the lich with my strength. The lich was level 25, so naturally he thought he was more powerful than me but he had never been so wrong before.

"Who's the monster? You should look at a mirror, you skeleton fuck." I had finished off the lich with my magic pistol, the leveling up session took 3 hours. I had gained a total of 18 levels from killing all the monsters, I did not receive any emergency quests so there was no bonus rewards.

"You should rest for a while, i'll get you some good food." I was waiting outside of the training building for my brother, I felt tired so I headed back to my new house my brother prepared for me.

Proto was fully upgraded, 2 metres tall and had no more wires hanging out from his body.

"You look good Proto." I went to my bed and slept for a while, it was still early afternoon. My body felt so relaxed for some reason, its been nice these few days.
