《The Heart Of Dominance》Floating Knight

Getting home should have been enjoyable for the young eldrasie, between ember letting him ride on her and saving time with travel and the sun which was shining today instead of the entire sky being filled with a large amount of snow.
But he was somewhat saddened by his race's lack of care about books and knowledge. It seemed to drakai as if they cared only about physical strength. "Of course, I know it's important. Your body is your first line of defense, but there are other powers out there that can give just as much strength!"
Drakai fell into a restless sleep that night, staring at the ceiling and thinking both about his race and the next fights that were lined up for him.
****
The next day came, and drakai was currently watching two people fight, whatever one won he would fight. He didn't remember their names because they were relatively unimportant to him. "Wow, for a race that likes physical strength so much, you would think that they would be stronger!" Drakai smirked at himself.
The young eldraise fighters on the stage were doing nothing but bashing their weapons together, a contest of strength and endurance more than skill and actual fighting ability. To them, though, they were fighting a grand battle, like you would in a story. But, unlike drakai that was mentally a lot older than them, they were not quite as mature.
The eldrasei people mature faster, but two years old is still relatively young in their culture. So only around the age of five would they be like a teenager mentally, and physically they would be beyond that at that age.
Huffing and puffing, the contestants would not give up and fight each other, and even the people in the crowd were starting to get somewhat bored. The fight had no up and downs. It was like tug the rope for fifteen minutes straight.

*huff, huff* "Your pretty good. I have never fought someone as tough as you. You have my respect!" Then, one of the contestants with the darker shade of brown hair spoke.
*huff, huff.*" You have mine as well. We should fight again after today if for nothing else, just some fun sparring." The one with lighter hair spoke.
The other kid nodded his head and launched another overhead attack using all of his strength. And the other one used all of his to block, making another load ring sound throughout the arena.
Watching this drakai wondered how his race had survived. He knew that monsters were much more robust than his race from birth. It was only through intense training that one got such incredible physical prowess.
With nothing left to do, he started to swing his sword around, practicing a little before the fight never hurt anyone. "Damnit I am not like them! Training with a sword is natural when you are bored!" Drakai was trying to convince himself that the only reason he was training was for practice.
He didn't know it, but his subconscious eldrasie brain wanted him to show off. So, Twirling around his sword, he started to get some attention from the other contestants that were beginning to watch drakai more than the fighters. They were surprised by how he handled the massive swords, swinging them like a bo staff at high speeds. And every once and in a while, drakai would somewhat float of the ground from the weight and momentum of his weapon, making him look even more graceful.
The boys were impressed by this but rather angry, they didn't think it looked too special. But the girls loved it. It made him look like one of the knights that their mother had told them about. I gallant man floating over the land and slaying monsters with his strength. This made the boys dislike him alot.

"Drakai from the house of Braden and Jolo from the how of Renta! Step on stage after you refresh or refuel." The kid with the darker hair had managed in the last moment to overpower the kid with lighter hair making him the winner of the bought. Drinking a potion to return himself to peak form, Jolo stepped out on the stage.
"Well, It seems that you are rather strong, but don't get me wrong, I am stronger than you!" Jolo spoke in a loud voice that everyone could hear. He wanted everyone to know that he was stating his superiority.
Drakai laughed quickly, picking up on the mind games of his enemy. "Nothing that I have done in the previous fights has been strength alone! Remember that when your blade touches nothing but air instead of my flesh or sword."
The other eldrasie didn't look mad, but he looked frustrated, he was blatantly pushed to the side by his enemy, almost mocked. Spring off the ground with all of his strength, he made a horizontal slash at drakai with the full intention to sever his torso from his legs. However, he knew that it wouldn't be possible to do so because the referee was relatively strong and was fast enough to stop the blade before it dug too deep.
This is why when his blade hit nothing, it came as a surprise, losing his footing from the amount of weight he put behind the attack and stumbling on the ground. Jolo got up and looked at Drakai, who was simply smiling with a wide grin on his face.
Jolo licked his lips and charged at him again, this time watching him closely as not to lose him, this time when he was swinging his blade down. Dukakis blade appeared in front of his face, making him jump back to avoid getting hit.
Looking up at drakai, Jolo was starting to get pissed. Drakai had the same shit-eating grin on his face that oozed smugness, "This piece of shit, Why won't he fight to lie a normal eldrasie!" Then, snarling at drakai, he opened his mouth. "You are a coward that doesn't fight like a normal eldrasei, and on top of that, you are a short as hell, but you dare to look at me like that!"
"..." Looking at his enemy, drakai started laughing then stopped. "Time to get your ass beat. I don't like when people call me short."
Drakai's veins started to pop up against his skin, and his skin started to tear lightly around the bigger muscles. He launched himself at Jolo, who took a defensive stance, using all his strength to move as fast as possible. Drakai spun his sword and, holding like a bat, swung it at Jolo too quickly for Jolo to see.
Then suddenly, the referee had drakai's blade in his hand. "Drakai is the winner due to what would be a death blow!" The crowd roared at Drakai's win. They started to like the short eldrasei more and more the more he fought.

"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place.
