《Debts Come Due!》Day-48 Someone stole my skeletons.

"So we are agreed, no one is going to just march in there and come out alive, right?" Tea said having a rather loud conversation with all the other magic casters. She was not even trying to be discreet in this and it showed. Most just assumed she stopped caring when the third rogue had tried to knife her in the back.
The first was dissolved in acid while he was still alive, the second was blown to bits with lightning, and the third was when she got both mad and tired of dealing with all this mess. She had animated his skeleton while it was still inside of him and after she got tired of listening to him beg her to let the bastard go she had simply ordered it to claw its way out.
This of course made plenty of the little buggers angry and started another round of them trying to kill her so she just skipped to the end this time. Completly done with pretending to have a shred of patience left, she made their skeletons run them into the dungeon while they were still alive. The dungeon that had killed everyone that entered so far. The one that was known to be certain death for the unprepared, that dungeon. It is pretty obvious to say that none of them made it back out alive but they did learn something new at least.
Three terrible attempts on her life were all she was willing to put up with, everything after that and you either succeeded or should kill yourself before making the attempt. It was really just faster for everyone involved and probably less painful than what would happen when you failed.
"My magic is already touching them, it is costly mana wise but I can keep reanimating them at a distance so long as the link remains unbroken." Tea told everyone.
After the party had shown up and taken over the show that was already going on things had been frosty for quite a bit. A little noble had been trying to get the job done by throwing bodies at it and failing horribly. This was a dungeon made by the Mad One. It would not be that easy, not at all.

When they had arrived and heard his plan on how he was in charge of them and that they were to go in with the next group they had straight-up laughed in his face. When one of his guards had drawn his sword for the insult things got a little heated. When said guard had the stone and dirt under his feet turned into a liquid and was buried up to his neck before it became solid again. Well, they had quickly started to see it in favor of the party.
Especially when Drassisa had off handily mentioned that at least this time it was not lava, it took her a week to get the smell out last time. Not that it had ever happened like that but the group really did not feel like explaining things to this group of incompetents. The only reason anyone had listened to him so far was that his family could have them all killed for disobeying. Them and all those that they hold dear. Now that their entire attention would be focused on these individuals that had recently become rather famous well, everyone was free to go off and do things right.
We go room by room, everyone spaced out and covering everyone else's back. No one goes anywhere or touch anything that has not been checked for traps by three different rogues, trap setters, and mages. Nine in total just to be safe that nothing was missed. Even then we proceed like every inch of the floor is booby-trapped. Shield up and we siphon off the air and replace it after draining the mana from the environment. They would not be breathing that air mind you just making sure it could not come alive and attack them.
That would be the fifth wave into the maw of this beast. The First would be specialized constructs to feed off the mana in the area and explore every nook and cranny. Leave no stone unturned and check for traps at every corner. Measure it all out and have the most detailed map so that the next wave could be more effective. In truth, three waves would be enough normally but they did not want to miss anything and this was a distraction so drawing out every powerful player and taking direct control was not a bad idea per se.

The second wave was going to be all undead, they would go through and break every trap and spell formation in the entire place. Those that fell would get up again and keep at it until nothing could kill them anymore. They had even employed a few liches that were not totally insane to aid Tea in this. They would also be aiding Tea in studying the spell formations and spelled traps to figure out what else they could expect.
The third wave would simply be flooding the area with poison and killing everything that could die that way. For this, Both Sasha and Smithy were preparing what poisons that they could while all the other toxin experts in the expedition were doing the same. This would have been the first step but the damn mage had accounted for it and built the place to resist such efforts. The hope was that with so much of the place broken it could have some effect and take the pressure off of them. Every monster that died with them out here was one more that could not kill them in ambush.
The fourth wave would be the scouts, those that had volunteered to go first if they got first pick of the loot. They would have all the shielding that the spell casters could put on them along with their own skills. They would also not be too far ahead of the next group, the fifth wave. Each of the scouts would be able to tank a straight-up blast from a siege spell. A glancing blow would not even do all that much damage everything considered.
"Who do you think you are, I am in charge of this operation and I will not be upstaged by a bunch of low born filth." The little noble shouted. It was kind of impressive that he would do that so close to Teamasa after watching what she had done to the last group who had annoyed her like that. Or maybe it was just him being an oblivious idiot.
"I can and will turn your blood to acid. Shout in my ear one more time and see if I don't!" She said with the calmest voice that hid none of the hatred she had for the moron. Today was going from bad to worse and did not appear to be getting any better. It was days like this that made her want to sleep in her families book store.
"Excuse me but I heard someone had assaulted my son and was wondering what in the nine hells was going on here." An older woman in her early fifties said with a rather cross look on her face.
After taking one good look at the lady and the rather smug look on the boys face they all came to the same conclusion.
"Did that little bastard really call his mom on us?" Embrda asked.
Unfortunatly he asked this just a little too loud because she looked over at them and started walking over towards them.
Now they may have been willing to kick the boys teath in or leave him alone if he shut up and got out of the way but his mother was another story all together. She was the matriarch of her family and the iron fist behind their power. Not someone that could be ignored until they went away.
"Your son was trying to send people to their death so he could claim the credit like a coward." Tess said rather bluntly before she could really get started.
The look on her face said everything. She was mad, both at Tess and her son. Both had insulted her if what the druid had just said was true. Worse yet she had the feeling that what ever she was about to hear was going to be profoundly stupid and not something she wanted to have to deal with. Ironically she was sharing a thought with Tea, this was going to be a really long day.
At least for the parties sake everyone was now watching this exchange with bated breath. Nothing like a public spat with a Noble and a party of adventures to start the day after all.
