《Criminal Lord》Chapter 12. Coliseum Kingsman/Volume 1. Finale!

[You have entered Magma Monarch Coliseum]
“Yup, I expected as much,” Terry said as him and Ryan began walking about in the massive, worn, stone coliseum. There were several pillars of magma that flowed from the ground in order to light the room. But even more interesting, was the several bodies and puddles of blood scattered throughout the room as well as the massive man standing several meters in front of Terry and Ryan, sitting atop a throne of stone.
The man was large and black with long dreadlocks flowing from his head atop which sat a golden crown, Heckel’s crown although it had expanded, probably as a result of an ability it had, to fit the massive head. The man measured 37’5” and massive muscles bulged throughout his body. Such a massive man was easily bigger than Terry and Ryan combined and he would be incredibly hard to face in battle.
The man held a massive club that was as big as his entire arm, able to crush several people from even a drop. The armor he wore was also interesting as his chest and legs were uncovered, leaving only his head, feet, and arms protected by leather armor. An interesting getup for sure considering that the man looked human except for his size and was a miniboss of such a dangerous dungeon.
There were a few thousand dead refugees among several others which had been thoroughly rotted over weeks, months and for some, years. Surprisingly though, even with all the refugees dead, all of the bodies had some sort of weapon and armor which Terry hadn’t given. And considering the numbers, there wasn’t some coincidence or anything. Someone had deliberately given the refugees some weapons yet there could only be one…
Terry continued to walk forward with Ryan behind him even though Ryan was around double Terry’s size. There was plenty of blood painted across the stone floor of the coliseum that reflected the lava lighting perfectly along with the rocky roof of the coliseum to signify that it lay underground.
The massive man began to rise from his throne as the very ground shook and an aura of strength radiated from him. Although, the effect wasn’t much to Ryan who had eaten, and Terry who had killed an elder dragon.
“Are you here to fight for your lives like men? Shall you run and hide like woman? Or will you beg for your miserable lives like a dog?” asked the massive man.
[Activating Appraisal]
[Grand Giant=Ultimate]
I expected as much, Terry thought. Even though he has very little and garbage armor, he must be really high-leveled which’ll make this a challenge. And considering his massive size… I may be able to reach my 100 level limit by killing him.
“My name is Terry Isenburg, I’ve fought in countless battles with my life on the line. Tell me, is there any chance that we could settle things peacefully?” Terry asked in response.
“Heh, you people came here knowing fully well that you would die. Just like all of these fools who were too weak to face me. Although, you must have been the one that they were saying betrayed them and left them for dead. Right?” responded the massive man.
“Is there truly no chance?” Terry asked annoyed.
“I-”
“Hurry up Kingsman!” yelled a powerful voice.
Terry looked around to see the owner of the voice and saw that the rows upon rows of seats surrounding the coliseum were now filled with individuals. Originally, Terry had paid no mind to the seats as they stood empty, but out of nowhere, they had become full. And directly behind the massive man stood a massive ledge which was decorated with many colors such as red, gold, bronze, and white. Atop the massive ledge stood a tall man.

The man stood tall but was nowhere near the size of the giant before Terry. Although, while smaller, the man had a massive aura of power surrounding him as he stood, only fire covering his body of which no smoke could be seen. The man seemed like a normal white human otherwise except for a key difference, Terry sensed not one, but several spirits within the human body.
Yet even though the tall man in the seemingly ‘VIP’ spot was the one who spoke, those sitting among the rows of stone seats were not weak by any means. Terry sensed waves of power surging from inside and there were few powerful monsters who were of similar strength to the ‘VIP’ but many more of strength around that of Terry.
Throughout the stands, Terry saw dragons, specters, golems, succubus’s, serpents, ogres, elementals, and many more to the point where Terry just gave up counting.
Many of those watching the inside of the coliseum intently weren't of only fire as the ‘VIP’ but in fact, had ice, water, earth, sand, shadow, and gold from what Terry could see.
[Activating Vampire Hearing]
“Finally, a worthy battle!” roared several monsters in the stands.
"Damn, they have a dragon egg!"
"Oh sh*t, they killed the dragon boss! Well, it was expected by trapping such a massive and powerful dragon in such a small space."
"Damn it! I wish I had gotten one! This guy doesn't know how lucky he is!"
"By the way, who is this guy? I don't keep up with the news of this dungeon much."
"No surprise considering who the boss is, I doubt many of us know sadly."
“Hah! I heard that this guy has been causing quite a ruckus in the volcano, I can’t wait to see him showcase his power!”
“Nice, I can see a fight between a strong, well-equipped warrior and a high-leveled Giant with overwhelming strength! What a treat!”
“I can already tell what will transpire here, you guys will be disappointed if you stay as well but enjoy.”
“What? Elder Bhatrick is leaving? C’mon old man, stay awhile! This fight is bound to be much better than the previous one and probably all the others going on at the moment!”
“Then how about we make a bet, Greed?”
“What’s this, you wish to make a bet with me, while I’m intrigued, what can you offer me and what will we bet?”
“I offer you one of my soul crystals of great power which also contains a very strong ability of which you can choose from. I bet that the fight will not last more than a minute or two.”
“A minute?! Are you f*cking crazy?! This is Coliseum Kingsman, what can this new guy do?! Wait, hehehe, you saw the future didn’t you? That makes absolutely no sense, how will that guy lose so quickly? I know he’s not as strong as a giant who can face a small army but still.”
“Are you chickening out? The great Greed who is known to bet great fortune for even a chance to earn a bargain?”
“Bruh, what can I bet that is worth a Multi-Soul Phylactery? Those go for several thousand platinum coins, what, should I bet one of my Vault Scrolls?”
“No way, Greed and Elder Bhatrick are betting?! Let's join in!”
“I’ll bet with Bhatrick since he’s almost never lost.”
“Yeah, same here!”
“You guys are fools, I’ll side with Greed since he’s got all his money and is bound to win.”
“You idiot, he’s got all his money just to lose! Put my money to whatever Bhatrick said.”
“Hey! When did I say I’d actually bet!?”
“Oh? Greed is backing out, what a great story, I can’t wait to tell all the other bosses!”
“What?! You know what, f*cking why not? I’ll bet a bunch of my relics!”
“Relics!? It’s not the first time you’ve bet those but damn!”
“Relics?! I’ll bet my Orb of Eschamel.”
“I’ll bet 1000 platinum!”
“I bet the holy sword Angraund!”
“Wait, we’re betting on the fight right? So won’t they be able to hear us?”
“You dumbass, there’s a sound barrier over this entire area. Only when the fight is done may we offer our thoughts. Don’t you read the f’cking guidebook of the coliseums?”
“I know that, but isn’t this guy’s class a Vampire Lord? They have some seriously dangerous-”
“A Vampire Lord?!”
“Why is a Vampire Lord here?! Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t! No wonder he got this far. Are you sure, Kronuroke?”
“Yeah, just use your appraisal.”
“Damn, wait, then how will this battle last such a short time? If he’s a vampire, then shouldn’t he last longer against Kingsman? Well, I can understand Greed now but still, I trust Bhatrick regardless.”
“Still though, even if he’s a Vampire Lord, I sense that he’s a young one, he doesn’t yet have the power required to hear us. His skills must be maxed or close to doing so.”
“Hah, hear that Bhatrick? These two are evenly matched, I’d like to see this last less than a minute. Hahaha! In fact, if this guy lasts, I’ll even give him the crystal from you. Let’s see what’ll happen to your reputation after that!”
“Has everyone placed their bets?”
“Yeah, hah, now you guys can’t chicken out! Hahahaha!”
“You fool, look at his left hand, he’s not the one who’ll die but Coliseum Kingsman. That weapon can compress and release the power of souls. And think how many he must have now from looking at his armor.”
“No f*cking way! The Left Hand of Thomalus!?!”
“How would someone even get that?! And it’s been made recently as well!
“Damn, this dude’s got some serious power, now both of these guys can win in one move.”
“Sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dammit! No! I need him to hold back? If only I could restrict his power somehow. Dammit, someone as weak as him has no choice but to use the Left Hand to beat Kingsman and survive. No~ now so many relics, gone…”
“Don’t be a sore loser, watch intently. This is what happens when defying a prophet. You rich fools lose everything and are destroyed.”
Damn, Terry thought. What the hell is going on over there, from what I can hear, those guys in the stands went from underestimating me to properly estimating me and finally overestimating me. But still, from looking at my foe, he’s much stronger than the dragon. While the dragon would be much more dangerous in an open space rather than stuck in a cave, this guy is much more dangerous. A single blow will slaughter me. Even so, that Greed fellow said he was going to offer me something seemingly really amazing. And based on the bets, pleasing him can get me set with a backer who’s got plenty of coin. I’ll probably need a backer in this place since I can further and faster increase my strength. Still, how to make this fight last more than a minute… that’s it.
The giant before Terry turned to look at the VIP for a moment and then back to Terry.
“I have heard countless negotiations over my time as a gladiator. Each and every one of which has been a mere fool who was bluffing, begging for their lives. We will fight and then the audience shall decide if they wish for blood or life,” said the giant as he raised his massive club and waited a few seconds for Ryan and Terry to prepare before charging forth.
Ryan, still holding the massive egg, trembled violently at the incredible power before him but was reassured by Terry who jumped and whispered something to him.
"Uh, I'm at level 67," Ryan replied.
"Good, then you can be a perfect diversion for me," Terry replied.
“Are you sure?” Ryan asked uncertainly.
“I need this fight to be delayed, nobody here is focused on you, when I disappear, you’ll have a chance to sucker punch this bastard,” Terry replied beneath his mask as he stepped behind Ryan’s massive body.
While Ryan was much smaller than the giant, the giant kept his guard up, ready for a strike although caring mostly for Terry who was far superior regardless of size. Ryan lowered the egg to the ground before rolling it to an awkward edge of the coliseum where it would likely be safe before turning to his foe again.
“Now Ryan,” Terry said as massive flames surrounded the two men so that they couldn’t be seen.
Whoosh!
[Activating Mask Existence]
[Activating Shadow Wings]
Terry jumped high, assisted by Ryan, and flew high into the air under the cover of Ryan’s powerful pillar of flame. All were focused upon Ryan now wondering, “Why is the weakling doing something? He may have a legendary class but his level is far too low to make any difference in this battle other than presentation.”
The giant continued to charge forth as Ryan steadied his breathing as best he could and waited for the slightest distortion in his pillar of flame caused by the heavy thuds of the giant’s feet striking the stone floor of the coliseum.
Ryan waited, ready to strike his foe who thundered towards him.
Whoosh!
Wham!
Before Ryan could react, the massive club of the giant tore right through the pillar of flame, lightly charring the sides, before smashing straight upon Ryan’s massive, scaly chest.
Crash!
“Urk! Blaugh! Huff! Huff! Wheeze!” Ryan coughed as his body hit the sides of the coliseum strongly with the impact of the massive club. Ryan’s scales across his chest and back were shattered with large amounts of blood pouring forth. But even so, Ryan still clung to life. Small flames began to appear upon Ryan’s body as his flesh began to slowly reform.
Clunk
The massive club that had smashed Ryan fell to the floor as Ryan slowly slid down the wall which he had smashed into, leaving a large crater.
The pillar of flame dissipated immediately as the giant looked around for Terry, preparing for a sneak attack.
The audience was watching the fight intently while also attempting to locate Terry themselves out of curiosity.
“What? Where the hell did he go?!”
“He couldn’t have run away could he?”
“No way, the only reason that it happened last time was because there was a powerful army that pooled their magic together into the escape circle, these two aren’t capable of that.”
“Ooh, the suspense is killing me!”
“Look, even Lenorom is trying to find him but to no avail!”
“Damn, even the boss of this place can’t find him?!
“I can’t wait to see what he’ll do, but wasn’t he supposed to just one shot Kingsman?”
“Hear that Bhatrick, maybe I will win this after all.”
“Heh, cling to whatever little fantasy you have, there’s still plenty more time.”
Good, Terry thought, these fools can’t see me. But still, Din, why exactly are there so many boss level creatures here? Is this like a party or something?
The coliseums are unique areas only in a select few dungeons which serve as a test before facing the boss. Since many of these creatures have nothing better to do or wish to just relax, they watch these matches and place bets on the battles. And of course, they handsomely reward the winner of the battle by tossing plenty of money into the arena after a fight. Don’t worry though, they only spectate and have no interference in the fights, Din responded.
Then tell me this, I tried to appraise the VIP but couldn’t see a single word. Even the Elder Dragon had questions and was a powerhouse, why is there nothing shown about the boss? Terry asked.
Oh, that happened did it? There’s one thing you gotta know then if you were seriously thinking of trying your luck against a monarch, Din began.
Oh yeah, tell me, Terry replied.
Gladiators are slaves, people with lives on the line with a purpose to serve the audience’s every whim. Yet for the gladiator to be maxed, well, think just how strong the master has to be. Not even I was a monarch at my strongest. So bear in mind, if you face the true form of the man atop that platform, well, you’ll have no chance in hell of winning. Best bet, come here after getting the help of that tarantula, Din explained.
So the final boss of a dungeon is that strong… awesome. Just f*cking awesome.
The giant continued looking around himself, ignoring Ryan as he wasn’t a threat, and began to remove the thick chains around his arms before swinging around himself madly.
What in the f*ck, Terry thought as he felt massive amounts of wind raging across the coliseum within seconds.
Heh, this fool, he has no idea that I’m clinging to the room and that once the minutes are up, he’s f*cked. I can just stay here and chill for now, Terry thought as he watched the giant dance around the room with his chains.
“Tch!” said the giant as his efforts at finding Terry remained unsuccessful.
The giant stopped his thick chains midair and watched them fall to the ground.
“This is getting nowhere so I have a better idea,” said the giant as he began swinging them together in a more controlled manner.
Sh*t! Where’d he get this idea?! Terry thought.
The giant began swinging his chains faster and faster until a whirlwind had been created and began pulling Terry from the roof of the coliseum. But even more than that, the chains were spinning to create a massive circle that slowly made its way up. Terry knew, if he didn’t act, he would be shredded by the massive chains coming directly at him.
Damn, I can’t even escape from here since he’s effectively forcing me into a corner with no escape, Terry thought.
Why not use Ryan, after all, he does have our blood which allows quite a bit of control over him at this level, Din said.
I hope he’s not dead, well, if I don’t do this I’ll be the dead one, so sure, Terry replied.
[Activating Blood Compulsion]
Ryan began to move as Terry held himself silently to the rock of the top of the coliseum. Even though Ryan was clearly unconscious from the shock of his damage, Terry could move him just like a puppet, ignoring the fact that several muscles were torn and bones were broken.
Terry used much of his energy but managed to lift Ryan’s massive, beaten body along and began to move to the massive club.
[Activating Blood Empowerment]
[Activating Overwhelming Strength]
Perfect, I can use my skills from his body, Terry thought as he began to smile.
“How the hell can that weak kid move after being smashed by Kingsman?!”
“He’s even able to lift the club, what could he be plotting?”
“I see, he has a core from those flames. No wonder he’s still alive and strong, but still, how could he possibly have that level of strength now?”
“Hahaha, the fight hasn’t ended and there’s only a few seconds left Bhatrick!”
“Shut up, he’ll have no choice but to show in order to survive.”
Ryan held the massive club and raised it high with both of his thick, scaled arms as flames engulfed his body along with his own blood.
Shoom!
Ryan threw the mace with incredible speed and force upon the edge of the chains behind the giant so he couldn’t see before falling to the ground, lifeless.
Shing! Wrap!
“Hah! You’ve shown yourself!” yelled the giant as he immediately used herculean strength and skill to swing himself, using his chains, upon the disturbance of which he couldn’t see and instinctively thought was Terry before raising his fists high and smashing upon his own club, splintering it into numerous shards of wood that bruised his burly hands.
“Crafty bastard! I spared your life but no longer, you die first!” yelled the giant as he readied his chains before swinging them far at Ryan to shatter all that remained of his exhausted body although in considerably better shape than how it used to be charred thoroughly.
[Soul Consumed=Fire Blast]
“...0” Terry said as a massive beam of fire, several meters in diameter, appeared directly through the giant’s back and pierced straight through, incinerating more than half of the huge beast, hopefully including his heart or other important organs.
[Soul has been overused]
[Activating Miracle]
Splurt!
[Activating Resolve]
Terry's body began to cover with burns as a blue aura burst out of his body which squirmed in pain as his wings began to vanish, barely keeping him airbound.
Thud!
The giant fell below Terry as a massive hole lay incinerated in his chest. Terry soon fell into the hole and pushed himself to a charred edge, hoping to rest his excruciating body.
Eyes filled with shock and jaws dropped in awe were the only reactions that could be seen throughout the stadium seats as the saw Terry sitting inside the massive charred hole of the giant's chest.
“2 minutes and 3 seconds… hahahahahahahaha! F*ck you Bhatrick, I won, everybody give me their stuff!”
“No way, why did he delay and allow his companion to be harmed? He just barely went over the time as well…”
“Damn it, I messed up, now my relic…”
"It looks like he doesn't know how to properly use the Left Hand of Thomalus and got hurt just as bad by using it. Still, whether that guy dies or not, we have to pay Greed."
“Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood!” chanted the crazed audience as they continued to hand plenty of valuables to the man named Greed who laughed continuously. Terry could hear more clearly these words and assumed that the ‘barrier’ of sorts had been removed.
Sh*t this hurts! Still, I can pull through so long as I don't use my left hand. Not like I can anymore since I can't feel a thing in it from all the pain. Not to mention the fact that I can't move it even in all my pain, Terry thought.
Terry shivered with his pain but looked to survey the monsters more closely in an attempt to find Greed and looked to where several monsters kept cycling throughout. Although, as there were so many monsters, and staring too long would be suspicious, Terry decided to use a skill.
[Activating Vampire Sight]
Terry could now see a large, round man in the center of the crowd and smiled.
Now that’s a real golden goose. Although with his size, he should be called a golden whale. I picked a good being to sponsor me, Terry thought as he turned away from the man.
“So… do you guys want me to finish off this big dude?” Terry shakily asked aloud to the crowd of many creatures.
“While I hear a few that ask for life, the majority ruling is for blood, meaning his death. If you kill him, you will be offered a position as the new miniboss of this dungeon along with plenty of coin. So, do you accept?” asked the VIP.
“Heh, hehehe, another question, if I kill him, will I be forced to become the miniboss or is it a simple offer among many more?” Terry asked.
Many of the creatures in the stands were silent in fear while some in excitement at the confrontation.
“Smart, it is a forced offer but you shall gain incredible strength, enough to face me in battle,” replied the VIP as an incredible amount of flaming power radiated from him, causing Terry to shiver in fear.
The creatures in the stands were all in shock and watching excitedly.
“Heh, while you’re actually using effort to force your presence upon me, I’ve experienced something similar at a lower level which has strengthened my resistance,” Terry began as he slowly began to drink the blood of the giant, raising his strength and allowing him to stand.
“Oh, you still have the strength to move, well, you are a Vampire Lord. I’ll use some more power to force you to understand,” said the VIP.
Damn, I didn’t want to reveal my new power in full here, Terry thought.
Well then don’t, show my power instead of yours. I mean, it’s what they expect, said Din.
Tch, I hate revealing any of my cards but since I’ve never gambled, I don’t have much experience to do anything about it, Terry replied annoyed.
“Hey Greed! Give me the crystal!” Terry roared with his fangs covered in blood.
The room froze and so did the VIP. Yet even so, Terry saw a small shining blue stone fly towards him.
Snatch!
[Acquired Soul Stone (Compact)]
[Do you wish to open? Yes/No]
[‘Yes’ has been selected]
[Left hand of Thomalus has been filled, Soul is no longer needed to achieve maximum damage and some skills; Weaponized Arm is now optional]
[Soul Skill selection=Grasp Heart; Demon Light; Soul Weapon Materialize]
[‘Soul Weapon Materialize’ selected]
Terry! Why would you choose that skill?! Grasp Heart is a far better skill that can kill an opponent instantly while this one gives you a weapon based at random! Din yelled at Terry.
You’ll see, either read my mind or shut up and watch, Terry responded ecstatically as the beautiful stone in his right hand became dull as a rock before turning to sand. Afterwards, Terry’s left hand began to revert into his genuine, smooth, frigid, flesh which moved with ease as Terry's pain melted away.
Terry looked at the VIP who turned away from Terry to Greed as the crowd of monsters scattered away from the large man, showered in numerous shining weapons, coins, and treasures which Terry couldn’t even describe other than how they looked like voodoo stuff.
“Greed, you dare to interfere in my affairs?!” roared the VIP as the lava plumes that lit the room began to rage.
“Don’t threaten me, we are all here to simply have fun. As a host, you should respect your guests. Besides, he could hear our bets through the barrier and that alone makes him very dangerous. yet even after that, he was able to beat your elder dragon at such a low level so I wouldn’t recommend antagonizing him either,” said Greed as he began to stand, knocking down the pile of large treasures that sat atop his massive body.
“So then, I assume that you are challenging me!” roared the VIP as he released massive amounts of energy, forcing Terry to his knees and nearly to the ground along with making him feel as if fire was consuming him. The pain was much stronger than that of even the dragon as Terry began to even choke.
“I merely wished to uphold the words I said which caused him to help me. After all, beings as strong as us have certain rules that even we must follow, lest the world be consumed by war,” Greed said as he radiated his own aura, easing the strain upon Terry as he began to fill with energy.
The two beings stopped within seconds and the coliseum became quiet again.
“So, do you wish to kill him and gain the strength to serve and/or slaughter me?” asked the VIP calmly.
Terry felt the insides of the giant as he felt them begin to shrink rapidly and heal.
“I see… I respectfully decline sir. After all, I already directly serve one who is stronger than you. The real you,” Terry said coldly. As he jumped out from the charred hole in the giant’s chest.
What you said better have been right Din, you better not make me sound stupid, Terry thought.
Hah, that’s what I expected you to say. Don’t worry, with what you’ve said, they won’t be able to so much as touch you for now, Din responded.
Huh, they know the tarantula? Terry asked confused.
No, not him, someone even more dangerous. The man who betrayed me, his own kin. Of course, there’s only one who I mean. Gespendist, the Vampire Monarch.
I see, and here I thought that I would have to use my aura to bluff a powerful backer, Terry responded.
“Interesting, so he’s backing you?” asked the VIP while those in the stands continued to whisper amongst each other, “Vampire Monarch?”
“None other,” Terry replied simply as he removed his mask, revealing his massive fangs, dripping with blood.
“Haah, I guess I can’t stop you. But just know, if you reject my offer that will make you my enemy and even a monarch will not save you from my wrath,” said the VIP.
“How about this, since I don’t want to cause any more problems, I will leave without a fuss. In fact, you may even keep my earnings from the battle,” Terry said as he watched the giant shrink to become the same size as Terry.
“Interesting, you wish to pay me to allow you to leave while also threatening me to not kill you. I enjoy that proposition. But then, since he’s worthless to me now as a loser, I shall kill Kingsman for you,” said the VIP as he raised his hand towards the giant who had become much smaller.
“Cerberus!” called the VIP as a flaming sphere was instantly formed before Terry and three large, black heads began to emerge.
“If he is worthless to you then I shall take him with me as another slave. After all, he is quite strong and I could use someone like him for my plans,” Terry said.
“Sure, since you defeated him yet spared his life, he belongs to you, body and soul. Now then, since this battle is over, I ask that you all leave this dungeon,” said the VIP as his body disappeared with a small flash of flame.
Many of those in the stands also disappeared one after another while Terry kept his eyes trained upon Greed who smiled as he made a gesture to Terry.
Don’t worry, I’ve got my eyes on you.
Terry smiled back and waited for the coliseum to empty out before it eventually did within a minute.
“Now tell me, how do I leave this place?” Terry asked Kingsman.
“What? You beat me? What? How did I lose? You beat me?” The man before Terry continued repeating the same things over and over again without a single concrete answer.
“Damn, I must’ve shattered your spirit. But even so…” Terry watched the man before him as he rolled across the ground while repeating numerous questions.
[Activating Demon King Aura]
Kingsman froze immediately and began to stand.
“Wow, so then, do you understand your position now?” Terry asked.
Kingsman glared daggers at Terry but slowly lowered his head.
“I apologize, my arrogance had gotten the better of me and I was forced to numb my senses to slaughter all who entered this-”
“I don’t care about your past or present nor your future as even you yourself don’t matter. What matters is my future, the future of this world. Now tell me, how do we leave?” Terry asked as he placed his original left hand upon Kingsman.
Kingsman raised his head to look deep into Terry’s eyes filled with ambition, annoyance, boredom, and most importantly, acceptance.
"But aren't you angry that I killed several of your comrades?" Kingsman asked in surprise.
"Well, the loss is massive, but even then, I would have more mouths to feed. I honestly prefer a single powerhouse to a bunch of prodigies. Besides, I didn't see anything of the sort and if you serve me with genuine loyalty, I have no reason to kill you. Now then, just skip the whole emotional thing where you say that you'll never betray me and just get me out of here," Terry said annoyed. He was angry, but after having lost plenty of comrades who he would call brothers, simple acquaintances were of no consequence. Whatever helped achieve his dream faster was all that mattered.
Although Terry likely could have finally reached level 100 by killing the man before him, Terry preferred to have another soldier to help him fight in case something happened to Ryan. Terry also needed a way out at the moment but still wanted to have a team that would be stronger than just gaining a few levels.
“I have the key to leave here or enter the boss room although it can be used only once for one purpose. Do you truly wish to leave?” Kingsman asked.
“Why don’t you answer, after all, you must have an idea of your previous master’s strength in comparison to that of your current master do you not?” Terry asked as he reverted his fangs and aura.
Kingsman shivered and began to sweat at the question and began to lead Terry to the edge of the coliseum.
[Activating Raise Ghouls]
[Skill, Raise Ghouls is unable to work on living targets. Do you wish to kill this individual? Yes/No]
Good, he’s still alive, Terry thought as he walked to Ryan’s massive body as flame continued to heal him.
“I’ve always wondered how a phoenix heals by burning itself but now I know,” Terry said.
“Ay Din, don’t use my voice, it’s weird,” Terry said again.
“Sorry dad,” Terry said again with a slight laugh.
Terry saw the large egg near Ryan, still unscathed, before walking to retrieve it.
[Activating Overwhelming Strength]
After Terry reached his cold fingers around the smooth, green egg, he threw it to Kingsman who caught it easily before lowering it to the ground.
Terry walked over to Ryan and was greeted by the warmth of the flames but was resistant along with his armor and gripped Ryan’s massive legs strongly before lifting them slightly off of the ground.
[Activating Spur]
[Activating Overwhelming strength]
Terry ran to follow Kingsman as he continued towards a wall with several markings upon it and where plenty of charred corpses were piled. Many of the bodies were charred while some were ash.
“You probably know this, but I cannot actually control where you are sent and you will likely not be sent back to the entrance,” Kingsman said.
“That’s fine,” Terry said calmly as he hid a massive grin of happiness behind his mask. Had Terry been sent back to the entrance, he would likely be met with an army of individuals each stronger than him, ready to slaughter him. Even if Terry was sent to a desert, it would be better than being sent to the entrance.
“Alright, then I’ll proceed,” replied Kingsman before placing the large on the ground. Kingsman proceeded to tap his chest, producing a long key which he pulled out and inserted into the wall before turning it slowly.
Click!
Within a second, a large flame was produced from the wall, engulfing the group of 3 men and egg, leaving a pile of ash in their place before vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.
“So there was a Vampire Lord in the Magma Monarch Coliseum?”
“Yes, he was very strong and defeated Coliseum Kingsman after which he denied becoming the new miniboss while saying that he served you, causing all to be wary of him.”
“Interesting, are you sure that he said that he was my servant?”
“Well, he said that he had a strong creature backing him up, and with him as a vampire lord, most assumed you as that backer although I sensed demonic aura from him along with spider energy and even the power of a dragon.”
“Even so, I’ve never heard of him nor met him from what you’ve said about him. And while his presence and actions have given me a bigger reputation to the other bosses, I will not stand for any, and a vampire especially, to use my name for himself.”
"But there was one thing, I sensed the power of one who you might remember."
"hmm?"
"Din Tur Levianne."
Smash!
"Heh, hehehe! Din huh? I can understand everything as well as nothing after he's brought into the picture."
“So what will you do, my husband as the Vampire Monarch, known by all as the strongest and most dangerous?”
“I will find who he truly works for, his origins, and he will wish that he had begged to serve that damn flame monarch. After all, as one of The Ten, I will make him truly suffer.”
“I can’t wait, after all, we have been silent for a while. It’s past time for us to taste the battlefield once again along with the blood of millions.”
“And it’s past time for me to taste you. Hahaha!”

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy

A seemingly unplanned fellowship is pieced together from the remnants of society, sworn to safely escort Jason to Durham, Oklahoma, where his father was born three centuries earlier. Sarafyn’s memories of his youth reveal how his innocence was warped by an alien bent on becoming a god. Yet perhaps, such protection is needed. As humatrans are crawling from the womb, humanity slowly recognizes the threat they represent and vows to wipe them off the face of the planet . . . by any means necessary.
