《Path Of The Cultured Uncultured One》Chapter 49

After the sudden burst of fire, another loud roar shook the ara and echoed across the area, and something exploded at the entrance of the cave, which created a blinding display of light. The crystal being slightly bent forward and dashed towards the entrance, which was still illuminated. Upon reaching the light, the creature was suddenly blasted away, but the being landed on its feet and seemed unharmed. Meanwhile, the light vanished, and a dragon stood next to the entrance of the cave. The dragon was red, and around its chest, there was a deep injury. Around the dragon, the atmosphere was changed drastically as the stone around it was slightly melting.
Dragon: ROAR!
Upon roaring, a blast of fire erupted from its mouth aimed at the crystal man, who seemed unsurprised. A light white aura appeared around them, and before the dragon's attack could have hit them, a pulse of ice erupted from the being, stopping the flames and creating an explosion. The explosion entirely covered the being, but the being jumped towards the dragon in a split second. As the dragon noticed the crystallised being, it moved its head up and used its tail to hit the man, slamming them into the ground. Upon impact, the dragon's tail was slightly damaged and even frozen for a split second.
Dragon: Damn parasite! ROAR!
The creature landed, and the moment it landed, the ground beneath their feet froze. And soon after that, they jumped right back at the dragon, who wanted to hit the crystalised being once again with its tail, but this time, the man grabbed the dragon's tail and used it to launch themselves forward. The dragon leaned to its side but was not quick enough, as it was punched in the injury on its chest by the being. Upon impact, the dragon slid away but used its wings to stop. As for the other being, they jumped after the dragon, but in mid-air, they clapped, and a sudden icy explosion erupted from them. The ice formed around the being turned into a dragon-like shape and the ice dragon collided with the real one, pushing it away. After slowing down, the two dragons jumped up and continued their fight high up in the air.

Their fight went on for hours; the area around the crater was flattened, and the crater was further extended and deepened. Also, the ground was full of deep holes created by the fire of the dragon. It soon became night as the hours went by, yet the two foes did not stop their fight. After each blast, the sky was lighted up with either blue or orange colours. Finally, Mig regained her consciousness, and she was under a large pile of rubble. She was injured, but she still pushed the residues off her and slowly sat up. After sitting up, she noticed that she was full of cuts, wounds and brushes, and the area around her was utterly terraformed. She looked up at the sky; it was dark at that moment because a dense layer of clouds covered the sky. Even the moon was barely visible through the clouds.
Mig: Is it night already? How long was I out? And what happened here? The area looks like a battlefield... and there are molten stone pieces everywhere... what happened to the others? What happened to Yang?
Mig slowly looked around in hopes of learning more, but all he could see was a devastated land with glowing solidifying stones. She slowly stood up; her legs were shaking, and as she stood up, the weather slightly changed, and it started raining. Mig walked around the area searching for Yang and the flies. She moved the rubbles she could touch but to no avail. Her hands were burnt because of the heat of some rubbles. The entire area was soon filled with steam. As Mig continued her search, a loud explosion echoed across the devastated area from a distance. The moment Mig looked around, she noticed a light from one side, but before she could react, a beam of fire devastated the area further. The beam was much larger than Mig and vanished almost instantly.

Mig: What was that?
Mig noticed the damage this beam had caused, and she was shocked. The beam melted a deep trench into the ground. She walked away because the raindrops were instantly turned into steam when they touched the newly formed trench. Mig looked in the direction the beams came from and noticed a blue and orange explosion. Then followed a pillar which was the same colour as the explosion, but the two colours were spiralling in said pilar. The pilar blasted through the cloud cover, creating an opening through which some light came. Mig was left speechless and noticed that the blue and orange colours clashed beyond the clouds, slightly lighting up the clouds.
Mig: What are these beings?
The mesmerised Mig was staring up, but after a few minutes, the colourful play stopped, and instead, a stronger orange colour took over and lit the clouds. The orange colour constantly got brighter and brighter until a devastating explosion occurred, which blew the clouds away. The wind of the explosion was strong enough to blow even Mig away into the now ravaged cave entrance. As for the explosion, it was so bright that the light it emitted was bright enough to illuminate the area as if it was noon. A miniature sun-like object was floating in the sky, which gave the light. Soon said object vanished Mig cloud safely leave the cave. The moment she stepped out, something fell from the sky right into the melted trench, which was still full of molten stone.
Mig: Was this event a fight between great masters... such power... their fight changed the weather completely!
Mig walked a bit further from the cave entrance to take a look at the terraformed area.
Mig: Am I the only survivor?
???: What happened here?!
Mig: What? Who are...you?

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
