《In the Name of the Unholy Spirit》Chapter 05 : Ten years

Silas Stewart woke up in a luxurious room. He looked around and found that there were two beautiful maids giving him a bath.
The maids were shocked as if lightning had struck them. They left him in the water basin he was sitting in and ran out of the room as if they couldn't wait to relay the news of him waking up.
Silas enjoyed the hot bath as he looked at an unfamiliar body.
He had aged.
He surmised that his body had aged at least 10 more years. He looked fifteen now.
He was wondering if it was the side effect of him gaining a God's power or if it had really been ten years since then.
Had he been in a coma for the last ten years?
Before long, a figure materialized itself in the room.
Silas looked up and offered his greetings, "How do you do these days? The King of Souls I presume?"
An astonished look appeared on the intruder's face. Nevertheless, he maintained his silence and didn't want to know more. He was sizing up the one sitting in the basin, looking for any loopholes he could exploit to get the upper hand in the negotiation that would follow.
In fact, the King of Souls had long known that he was facing a God. A human one at that. He wasn't foolish as to think that the piece of the broken halo he had given the kid back then could produce such results.
Back then, even he himself had been plagued by the rampaging powers of the Evernight Goddess that were still running amok on his soul body. He was barely alive, so how could a piece of his halo produce such a miracle.
He was a far cry from being the previous God of Creation that could create divine beings like Archangels on a whim.

Something must have happened in between... And he was dying to know about it.
"You're dying to know, do you not? Surely, believing in miracles should be right up your alley since you are a divine being yourself. Hahaha." Silas said with a smile.
With a blank look, the King of souls said, "Humor me."
Silas nodded and his playful smile receded as he said, "When you gave me that broken piece of your halo, it was laced by the power of the Evernight Goddess that was still rampaging in your body. When you fused that broken halo piece with my soul, it created a connection with the Evernight Goddess. Since we were both sleeping at the time, I was pulled into her dream where I killed her and stole her powers."
"How could such a weak soul like yours kill such a powerful God like the Evernight Goddess?" The King of Souls, Arkun expressed his doubts.
Silas shook his head slowly saying, "It's the fusion between your halo and my soul that created that power. I have no idea if that's what happens if an angel shares his power with a human, but it happened. What do you know about a power that can devour everything?"
