《Super Sekken (An Action Shonen Story)》Vol. 5, Ch. 11: A Shocking Discovery

Unknown to Light Guy, his suspicions were correct. That rosey haired teen was making a run down the hallway from the cafeteria, and around the corner, then throwing her back against the wall. Her heart was beating and her mind was racing. Though her heart told her that eavesdropping on the people who were more than capable of ruining her life was a bad idea, her gut was telling her that this was the only thing she could do.
("Those two were glowing in that arm wrestle, but how? Do they have fancy lights attached to them? A necklace? I'm so confused.") Miyuki thought while running through the info she gathered from Billy and Itoh's conversation. It was a lot to take in for someone who had no experience with the gang, not to mention was formerly one of the few people who chose to shrug their existence off as a 'myth'. Out of all of the information that Billy and Itoh discussed, the necklace and the glowing lights were the most important to her.
Trying to ease her rapid breathing to calm herself down, Miyuki thought about what her plan of action was, and then tried to focus herself on that goal. ("Glowing lights and necklaces can wait. I need to find Omo. I have to make sure they haven't done anything to her. Though, considering she is 'The Boss's pet', I doubt it. What I also doubt though is her having a guard dog like Seijo again. Find Manaka, tell her about this info, then ask for her phone so I can record proof of I-35's existence here. Bingo–"). While Miyuki stood there trying to tell herself the plan, suddenly her heart would skip a beat when hearing the sound of someone calling her name out from the hall she came from. She was spotted.
"Ayyooo, Miyuuukiii you ain't smooth, you know? Come out and speak to me" the voice was of a male, more so a boy that was about her age. Miyuki's mind paced back and forth while she desperately thought about what to do next.
("Shit, shit, shit!") Miyuki began to 'quietly' run down the hall. She was good at running, but that was about it. She's never tried muting the sounds of her feet hitting the ground, which was already nigh impossible with the hard tile flooring that the school has. With her novice levels of experience, stealth was futile.
"Yo broski, come onnnn! I just wanna talk to you, no hard feelings about Seijo! He wasn't that big of a deal anyways! Come talk to Light Guy, he won't bite 'none." The boy spoke with underlying sarcasm. While Miyuki was just running, the boy who was 'chasing' her was really just having a nice morning stroll.
"I'm good, I'm making my way out anyways–" Miyuki accidentally replied, covering her mouth and cringing from giving her position away.
"No nooo! Don't do that, Miyuki! Why don't you wanna talk to me? You're gonna hurt my feelings! I'm a big fan of yours, everyone is! Don't run away from me because I admire your skill now. Heh heh." Light Guy laughed, then came around the corner and entered the same hallway Miyuki was in. While the girl he was chasing was hiding in an empty classroom, Itoh decided to put on a small 'show'. With his confident strides, the boy began to glow like a light bulb. His position was obvious, anyone in the hallway could see the brightly illuminated boy from probably a mile away.

"Y-ye-yeah, I realized that not long ago... after you monsters torched my house and my mother in front of me!" Miyuki called out from behind a bookshelf in the classroom she was hiding in. She had given up remaining stealthy. There was no hiding from a human light bulb, so it seemed she was left with no other choice but to talk with him. She wasn't going to move an inch from where she was though, he would have to come to her.
"Fair enough, fair enough. I know where you are though. Come on, I ain't wanting to ask again. It sucks what happened to you, but I-35 ain't all that bad. I can show you our world! Maybe hit you up with some dough, yeah? Money's always good, but it's even better when you have homies to share being on top with" Light Guy would explain while he walked into each of the classrooms nearby where he heard Miyuki's voice. "Ay look, I wasn't the one that gave the order to burn your house down. That was aaaaalll on The Boss! They're the one that calls the Hot Tamales around here. I'm just the Captain of the Truckers, we're nothing but their grocery shoppers." Itoh explains, then proceeding to face the classroom that Miyuki was hiding in, then walking in. "You ain't gonna report us to the coppers are you? That's already a Hot Tamale level of punishment if you do. I don't know what happens to you if you cause that level of bad after you've already received that kind of punishment... Maybe that means I have to kill you, which would be pretty easy. I haven't done that before though."
Miyuki would stay with her back planted to the side of the bookshelf while Light Guy talked. ("I don't like this guy one bit. To say he can kill me pretty easily is extremely concerning , it doesn't even sound like he's bluffing!") Miyuki thought, clenching a fist as she felt the rising tension from this guy's search. She needed to say something. Miyuki took a deep breath in, then coming out from behind the bookshelf and facing Light Guy... he really was young. He couldn't be much taller than Megami was. What she didn't understand was the pair of sunshades he wore and the bright white grin that read nothing but arrogance to her. Considering he had some strange ability to illuminate, she didn't like the idea of him being so cocky... she didn't like that one bit, because what else could that ability mean? "H-here I am. You wanted a talk, y-you got it."
"Ayyyy, there you are, pumpkin!" Light Guy teased. ("Yeah... no kiddin' Billy, she's hot, hehehe. I never got to see her up close, but here she I am now... lucky me!") he would chuckle a little, his grin fading into a gentle smile. "So, I have no clue who let you in here... or how you even knew about the hangout. It's exclusive to I-35 members, which you ain't. I can make an exception for today though since you didn't know... and maybe, just maybe under some certain special conditions I could make a permanent exception for you, if you know what I mean, ay?" the boy pressed on with a smirk.

"I-... no.. I don't know what you mean..." Miyuki said with an awkward smile, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course ya do, pumpkin, your face says it all! Tell ya' what, I can show you around the place and maybe take you out to the breakfast bar, because you look hungry, hehehe" Light Guy emphasized as if he were trying to make a point with his last lines. Despite that, it clearly didn't get across to Miyuki, who just stood there with a straight face in silence. "Oh come on, you're such a buzzkill, you know? You're hard to talk to when you ignore your admirers, what kind of celebrity hates their fans? Brighten up, sweet cheeks! That's why you don't got any friends, you don't like talking about things you don't like-"
Miyuki's clenched fist would suddenly be launched straight for Itoh's face. "STOP IT! Just.. STOP!" she shouted, her face boiling red from a mix of emotions. First he threatens her, then he tries to flirt with her, but there was a line he crossed that he truly shouldn't have. After that first punch was thrown, her eyes widened from the realization of her attack, immediately pulling back her fist and stepping backwards. "Uhhhhh..."
Light Guy stood there, taking off his sunshades and looking it over. "Well shit snowflake, you broke my sick shades! Those costed me a month's pay!". Itoh then tossed the shades behind him and into the trash can. Though it was disappointing that his beloved shades were ruined, he was only grinning. "You're really asking for a fight, huh? Let's have this dance off then, show me those moves!"
"I-I r-really was not intending that, you just really busted a nerve there for me and I lost it–"
"Show me that anger, then! I'll show you why Light Guy is the number one spotlight!" He would say before running at the teen and sending two incredibly quick palm strikes for her chest. Those attacks landed squarely, sending Miyuki stumbling backwards and falling on her bottom from the amount of momentum. Her chest stung already not only from pain, but it was like she had touched a hot stove!
"Ow! God-fucking, Ow! That's almost inhuman levels of strength!" Miyuki exclaimed in fear.
"So you don't wanna tango now, huh?" Light Guy crossed his arms, standing firmly. "I don't get into too many fights, so why don'cha be my refresher, aye?"
"I- I don't wanna fight though... you're nothing like Seijo, I can tell that already"
"Hah hah! You're seriously comparing me to a grunt like him?? He was just someone The Boss wanted to waste. You did us a favor more than anything getting rid of that weakling. 'Martial Arts Master' my ass, right? Comparing some low level guard to me is like comparing a chimpanzee to a god" Itoh boasted, continuing to have his arms crossed while he waited for his opponent to stand. "Stand up..." Light Guy started, then raising his hands up. His body began to glow in a mystifying bright color. His eyes closed as if he were heavily focusing.
While he was closing his eyes and clearly distracted, Miyuki looked around the room from where she sat. The classroom door! It was still open! Miyuki launched off of her feet and sprinted for the door with all of her might, exiting the classroom, and then sprinting down the halls with all of the power she could muster.
Light Guy continued to glow even brighter, his hands held out while he completely ignored the cowardly escape of his opponent. Electricity began to crackle in the boy's hands with such voltage it could power a car battery. Within about a minute of focusing, bright basketball sized balls of energy began to slowly form in both of Itoh's hands with intense electricity surrounding them. "...stand up to me, buttercup, or I'm gonna make you."
Miyuki continued to run down the hall, trying to search left and right for the door to escape to. Why did she punch him in the face like that? She couldn't believe it! There's no way she would do that... she could never imagine herself to be that angry! Someone as strong as he is, she had no hope of standing up to him. It was either she ran, or she died! Even before she could make it out of the door though, Miyuki's body would suddenly light up in a jarringly bright violet light. Her heart sank. She tried to push the door open to the outside, but she was helplessly kneed to the back, and her face pressed against the locked door. "GAAAH! COME ON!" she cried, feeling that stinging pain and heat in her back.
"If you just stayed, you would have heard what I said: Stand up to me..." Itoh would chillingly say, then grabbing the back of her shirt and pulling her inside, the force behind it overpowering Miyuki's grip on the door and sending her tumbling backwards. "...or I will make you. It seems that now I'll have to do the latter... fight me, Slippy! Once I beat you down, I'm gonna ask you some questions about a certain necklace you know of."

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
