《Distant Kingdoms: Magic War》Hazel Meadows: Diary Entry 7

I was not surprised to find the new recruits lounging. They were sitting in little cliques of two’s and three’s. Conversing like this wasn’t a training camp of sorts.
Hu hu, I guess it was time to wake them up.
“Behind me is a forest where there are over dozens of species of triblemen men and creatures of nightmarish portions.” I thumb the forest behind me, pacing the lazy fucks. “You will be missing for five months from the outside world but here. You will have everything you will need to survive and become the strongest warrior.”
I bent down and scooped up dirt and grass. Letting it seep between my fingers, dumping it when only crumbs set within my palm.
“You will have five years to learn how to survive, to learn how to survive like a warrior, and to learn to fear death.” I chuckled and threw thirty cards forward that changed into axes mid-air.
They bent down and gripped them as I faded out of the picture. Appearing inside of a floating castle high above their heads. While I may have been God within this card’s world, there were still some limits in place.
For example, even though I could create life, I could not bring it out. Terrible, yes?
It was annoying but not the worst situation. I could bring out any material they made for me and I did have a world full of technology advancement but each real world had their own rules and reality structure.
Anyway, I slipped into a hot tub and grabbed a cup of honey ale. Gearing up to enjoy the fun that was about to take place.

The first thing they did upon me leaving was to nominate leaders. Actually, they split into two parties. Fifteen on each side, the girl I helped personally, was one of the leaders.

One group began trying to dig at the ground with axes, I guess to set the foundation. I wondered if they would figure out they could just insert mana and think about it changing, for it to be the tool they needed.
It took them an hour and half before someone accidentally stumbled across it.
Oof.
The other group work on cutting down trees, trimming them. They both worked with weird determination until the sky began to dim. Then they rested.
I clapped when their swords turned to shields and swords. They designated the bigger people as shield warriors. Letting the skinnier lads and lasses be sword and spearmen.
They spread out in arrow formation and began pressing forward into the thick canopy of trees.
I switched to the couch with a book in hand and soft candle light with grapes and pineapples for snack.
It took them a while to come upon the first beast. A bear of sorts. It had the standard look but its fur was dusted with gold and it stood on its hindlegs almost twelve feet tall. Even though it wasn’t a magical beast, it was very close to it.
I thought this would be an interesting test. Semi-magical beast.
The shield warriors spread out in horseshoe around it. Kite shields up and themselves in horse stance. The spearmen lingering two steps back between the gaps.
I wondered if they would figure out that if they have bows, it will shoot out their mana in condensed form of an arrow.
The bear roared but wasn’t going to attack unless they attacked. Which they did. They closed in on the bear and spears struck out.
The bear slapped at the spears but hit shields.
The spearmen had delayed their thrust for the deflection. Their spear tips snaking in and sinking into the fat muscle of the bear. They danced back, readying for a second strike.

The bear didn’t roar, it backstepped. Watching its enemies with attentive eyes.
The shield warriors pressed forward. Surrounding the bear that bumped into a tree.
It jerked to its two hindlegs, sweeping outs its paws. Meeting nothing but air.
Until the spearmen thrust forward, blooding its furry chest.
The bear roared and slammed down, catching a third round of thrust. It could do nothing but charged forth. Aiming to make a hole and escape.
Two shield warriors locked shields while spearmen thrust behind it. Keeping past with the reckless charging bear.
The swordsmen had their swords ready to strike. A white gleam layer on their blades.
The bear impulsive slammed into the two shield bearers. Pushing them back, leaving furrows in the dirt. However, its charge was slowed to a crawl and it whined. Spears came in from all directions. Blooding it worse.
The bear roared and swiped fiercely, the sounds of its claws ringing on the shields.
I leaned forward as the two shield warriors allowed themselves to be pushed back. Stumbling in an almost believable fashion.
The bear was too impulsive. Taking that newly made opening, limp running towards freedom. It didn’t seem to see the four blades hacking downward. It didn’t seem to feel the blades cutting into its neck, one after the other.
Chop! Chop! Chop! Thud!
The headless bear didn’t seem to realize that it had lost its head. For its body kept charging forward for another four meters.
I clapped my hands while laughing. Who would have known they were so talented at teamwork. Hm, it seemed that I wouldn’t have to teach them much. Throwing them into different scenarios would be all that was needed.
