Chapter Fourteen: Resurrection/Reflection
The Game Over screen quickly fades away and Wundah can feel the sun hitting his face once more, he groans in pain but then realizes he isn't in pain, “What the hell?”
“Good thing I arrived in time huh?” A hand pulls Wundah up and he looks around in shock.
“Is there revival in here?” Wundah looks at his hands.
“I healed you just in time, it's kind of complicated. I understand you lost your friends in battle, there is a way to revive comrades but it does cost a lot of Nugz. I understand you would do what you can to revive them? I can help if you're willing to do a few things for me.” The man smiles and dusts off his hair.
“Yeah I'll do anything to revive my friends! What do you need?” Wundah clenches his fists.
“Deal. There will be three portals. The first will take you on top of a mountain, give this to the man on top. You can fight him if you want just don't kill him.” The man hands Wundah a small ring of a sphinx, “The second portal will send you to a place to revive your friends, only two. The other one will be revived after you enter the third portal. Through the third portal you will meet four people, another portal will open up but have them go through it. If they don't listen you can force them but don't kill them. Your power levels will be much stronger, you will fight a Legendary God Level Dragon as well to revive your friend, also those children you handed your sword to couldn't carry it so here it is.” The man hands Wundah his sword and the first portal appears, “Any questions?”

“Ugh no dude I got it. You can count on me!” Wundah gives a thumbs up and walks into the portal.
Umbra takes a deep breath and reads over the scroll to himself once more, “Change the history of Childhood Umbra and make the group strong and give them Nethershard Earrings, find the Dragon King Squad Leader and resurrect him then send him to give Umbra Sphinx ring on top of volcano, send Childhood Umbra and team to the training chamber and then dungeon, use Dragon King Squad to teleport Childhood Umbra to top of dungeon.” He glances back at the scroll and reads it over carefully a couple of times, “Looks like time is up huh. I guess it can't be helped. I gave them the items, they're in the cave right now. Umbra can you hear me?” Umbra creates a portal and walks through it.
“Yeah I can, what do you need?” The soft voice of Childhood Umbra is heard as the man appears in a enormous hall full of clones of Grimgar the Terrible holding giant battle axes, “You can't do this!” He yells to the person who takes a seat on the throne and puts their helmet on, “Listen and listen very closely, I need you to add Juzo, Eva and Azula to the party so I can max them out. Then you four will train hard. You four will be the last hope. Do you trust me?” Umbra grips his sword and adjusts his helmet, “Summon item!” The sphinx ring falls from a small portal into his hands and he quickly puts it on.
“Yeah I trust you.” Umbra adds the three to the party.
“Thank you, wait two minutes.” Umbra inhales sharply, “Attack! Defense! Agility! Barrier Aura!”

“Okay I will.”
“Ta.” Ten Grimgar attack from all angles but Umbra quickly deflects their attacks and slices through six of them. He swings hard with his left at one of the remaining ones but Grimgar moves so fast he disappears, the three of them cut at the same time, Umbra’s left arm and leg along with his right thigh are cut off instantly and his armor is smashed as he is slammed up to the ceiling and then the floor. As he falls to the floor he places a portal on the ground, transporting him into a small diamond cavern.
“Okay I'm back, two portals will appear, your squad will walk into the one on the right, the others to the left.” He holds his hand up and a portal appears, “Wait before they go there's a Forbidden Fruit crate in the pouch, it gives temporary max level to any player for two days. Have them take it.” Umbra is panting with pain in his voice, he can hear Childhood Umbra talking about skills, “You can fix whatever you need later... It's time to go, please.” They appear through the portal.

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
