《chimera》chapter 2

wake up the next morning, and stow off experimentation until the later. I get out of my little log house. Press a button on the side of the door and voila it turns back into my normal looking bag.
I run all the way to the next little village to heal some more people. The village is 25 kilometers away but it only takes me the span of about half an hour to get there.
Some of you may be confused as to my seemingly superhuman abilities, but let’s just say when you have the power to change your body you fucking use it and you use it good. I boosted the muscle density in my body, I also made my heart bigger and stronger so that it pumps blood faster. My lungs use the oxygen in the air extremely efficiently. And I can actually control my body better like being able to direct the blood where it’ll be the most effective and where it’s needed the most. Oh and most diseases and poisons are harmless against me because I modify my anti-bodies to be most effective against whichever poison or disease is attacking my body.
A loud bell wakes me up from all my introspection. It sounds like some sort of alarm. Shit is there some sort of bandit attack happening, ugh guess I am gonna have to help since I am already here.
I pull out an iron rod from my bag. The rod is pretty heavy but I my enhanced body is strong enough that I wave it around like it’s wood. A man comes at me waving a big ass axe, I slam the metal rod into his head and whoosh there's a big bang and then a fine spray of blood and brain goo. Kinda disgusting but I just destroy any of the brain matter that comes at me with life magic.
I burst into the fray which is just a big field. It looks like the village people won’t just surrender they seem to be bringing out whichever weapon shaped objects they can find. I even see some women fighting, which huh the village must be desperate cause usually villages protect women and children like their dolls or something. Always did think that was backwards but whatever.

I wave my rod around landing a few lucky strikes which result in brain and blood splatter everywhere. The field gets dyed in blood. Mostly it’s the blood of the villagers, even though I was helping the villagers. I come across a few villagers that are catatonic from all the blood loss so I use the life energy of the grass and the trees around here. They get up but are a little confused so I give their systems a bit of a kick of energy. I do all this in the span of a few minutes, this is where the saying practice makes perfect comes in.
I see a man in the middle of the battlefield directing the bandits. He’s probably their leader and since this battle is kinda boring for a man like me I rush at him and whop him across the face. It’s almost comical how his head explodes and little head bits go rushing across the battlefield. I aimed it so that all the head debris hit only the bandits.
A few of the bandits actually get hurt from the force of the scatter of the brain matter. After that the battle is pretty short cuz the bandits don’t have a leader anymore.
I heal all of the wounded, bandit or villager. The reason for that is because the fight is already over so they don’t fight and just run. And yes while they may cause havoc another day for another village, they also might become fair robinhoods. Plus I make it a point to heal everyone but the rich. You’ll know why I don’t heal the rich will be explained later cause if I tell you everything right now the topic might be less interesting, also I gotta have a few cards up my sleeve.
After I heal everyone, I quickly disappear in a flash. I watch from afar my enhance eyes letting me see if there’s gonna be anymore conflict from the bandits. No the bandits don’t fight they just run away.

I look up and see there's still enough time to go to another village quickly before it becomes dark. And while I can see in the dark and need less sleep then a normal human being I want to experiment at night today.
I run to the next village. The village is decently sized and full nice bakeries and blacksmiths.
I pull out a sign saying I’ll heal people for free. Apparently the rumors haven’t come in from other villages that the wandering healer is nearby so at first not many com by. I heal a few scratches scrapes and even a few colds until really desperate man with a baby comes around.
“The girl is dying. Can you help her please, I am begging you” he shouts at me “calm down let me check on her first” I say back. I gesture for him to give me his baby girl, he does so relectuntly. When I receive her I look into her trying to see what the problem is. The first thing I find is that she doesn't have enough energy to sustain her. I look deep in and find a parasite. The girl seems to have had really weak immune system so the parasite had no problem coming right in and making itself at home. I slowly rip all the little tubes sucking food away from the babe.
After I finish that, I destroy the parasite summarily. I hand the man his daughter back “how much do I have to pay for the healing” the man says looking at his feet, probably thinking he was going into a huge amount of debt. “Didn’t you see the sign it says free healing”. The man gives me a look like I am crazy “but don’t you want anything”. I just shake my head and move him along.
After that the people in the line get so much more dangerous and exciting. By that I mean actually deadly diseases and injuries. One blind man comes up to me and asks if I can heal him. I tell him I can but only at the end of the day cause it might take a while.
At the end of the day after waving off a few people trying to pay me back, I heal the blind man as promised.
I move into the woods, shange my bag into the log cabin, get inside get slammed into by albert, who I mess around with for a bit. After finishing up with albert I move on into my laboratory.
I pick up the vial of gecko residue. I then make a dozen more vials of gecko residue. In every single vial I change the chemical structure very slightly and then I right down the effects of each change. My entire night consists of this over and over and over and over again.
The results are a bit interesting. I am pretty sure I found out which chemicals compounds cause the stickiness. So I can probably cross the stickiness factor off the checklist.
I look outside and I find the sun still has not risen, but with my enhanced hearing i can gouge out the wakings of non-nocturnal animals.
I clear out all the chemicals in my brain that are making me sleepy which is, sorta dangerous but eh what the hell. I get my cabin to go back to it’s bag form and run to another town, which unlike the last few towns I’ve been to there’s trouble brewing, for me specifically
