《The legend of Aila (dropped fiction)》Fated encounter

It happened in an instant, the beast that aimed for my life jumped to break my neck while my life. In fear, I closed my eyes, hoping that my neck would be broken first so that I wouldn’t suffer too much.

And then I died, …

… or so I thought.

When I opened my eyes, I saw a vision of both heaven and hell. In the gentle evening light, a young man was standing where the beast had been moments ago and the black wolf that threatened me was now laying on the floor a few meter away, a deep wound on its stomach. I quickly noticed that, despite the fact that he had apparently defeated the beast in a single slash of his sword, not a single drop of blood could be seen on the black coat of my handsome savior.

In such circumstance any person in its right mind would feel tremendous gratitude toward his savior, giving him some heartfelt thanks. But I felt no such thing, instead I felt only fear, primal fear, my entire body was screaming to get away and run with all my might from that man that somehow didn’t feel human. But my leg wouldn’t move and I could do nothing but stare in a daze.

While I was struggling not to lose my mind or faint, he turned his head toward me, giving me a long cold stare with an expressionless face. And after a while, having ascertained that I was unhurt, he slowly turned around and disappeared into the night.

In shock, I had to wait a dozen minute or so before regaining the control of my body. I then rushed toward the black wolf that nearly killed me moments ago, tending its deep wound in a struggle to save its life.
