《Megane Saga》Chapter 6 - Derry bread addiction

Despite saying our farewells, here I am, staying at Andas’ house. I’ve been staying here for 2 days now, since I still have things to look at in the city.
“Shizuka, breakfast is ready.” He said while knocking at my door.
I stood up and opened the door, wearing a brown dress. “What’s for breakfast?”
We’re the only ones at his home, since he no longer has any family. The dress I’m wearing now used to belong to his sister, who died from a mission.
The reason he was always worried about me was because he sees his sister in me. Although based from him, his sister and I were quite opposite when it comes to personality, or at least the personality I’m showing him.
His sister likes to travel a lot and became an adventurer because of it. She was quite a talented individual, seeing as she became a B rank adventurer at the age of 16.
A day before her A rank promotion mission, she had a fight with her group. Not wanting to postpone the mission, she took it alone and died. He was guilty since he didn’t stop his sister, when he knew himself that his sister would go alone.
Since he misunderstood my need to travel, he saw a resemblance of his sister in me and me traveling alone made him remember his sister’s death.
He didn’t want me to die the same way his sister did, so he has been strict with me from the moment he saw me. Well, that is my understanding of the situation, I don’t know if I missed something.
After eating breakfast, I went out to look around the town, while he stayed at the house to tend to his store.
Seems that this is his hometown. He just came to the capital this year to visit his relatives and get a few rare merchandise, which was mostly bought by me.
Sigh, it’s rare so that means I won’t find those things here easily. I’ve been moving around looking for derry bread and I still haven’t seen one...
“Good morning Shizuka!” Said Eggy, one of the merchants that I traveled with.
“Good morning mister Eggy.” I said while walking to him.
“Your walking around the city again?”
“Yes, to look for something interesting and to look for derry bread.”

“Hahaha, still haven’t gave up on the derry bread?”
“Never, derry bread will always be a part of me.” At least until my addiction stops, but seeing as I can’t satisfy it, my addiction will only get worse. Should I go back to the capital and buy some?
After that I walked around the city, but still couldn’t find a derry bread. Maybe I should just give up...
For lunch, instead of going to an expensive store, I came back to the house to eat Andas’ cooking.
“I’m back” I said while opening the door.
“Did you find what you were looking for?” He said while arranging his merchandise.
“No, maybe I should go to the information guild later.”
“What? You’re going there just for derry bread?”
“Yes, is there a problem?”
“Sigh, if only I knew you would get addicted to it, I wouldn’t have given you one.”
“Fool, even if you separate me from it, it will still find it’s way to my mouth.”
“Don’t make it sound like it’s you soul mate!”
After eating lunch with him I went to the information guild and was finally forced to give up. There’s no derry bread in the city. Losing the drive to move around, I went back to the house to help Andas with his store.
Now that my reason for staying is gone, I’ll start my travel tomorrow. Wait, why tomorrow? I can do it now.
I immediately told Andas my plan and although he was sad about it, he didn’t stop me.
“Just remember what I said ok? Don’t go alone.”
“Yes father.”
“I’m not a father! At least call me elder brother!”
“Then...sis-con!”
“Shizuka!”
Teasing him is really fun.
GABRANTH’S POV
“Is everything ready?” I said as I looked at my vassal.
“Yes sir Gabranth, the transportation spell is fully functional.”
“Good, gather everyone outside and tell them to get ready.”
“As you wish, sir Gabranth.”
Our mission is to kill everyone aside from the royal family, which includes the heroes. We are to kill the heroes that might become a threat and kill the humans to show them that we are aware of all their action. There’s a price whenever they do something we dislike.
The lord’s wish is to make them suffer slowly and instill fear in their hearts, instead of just killing them all instantly. Even I wish for them to suffer, I can’t forgive them for killing lord Marda.

Lord Marda tried to calm everyone down and stop the war from breaking out despite that fact that it is the humans who attacked first. He said we who were stronger should be understanding to the weak. He showed kindness not only to us but also to the human race, but what did they do? They killed the man who wanted peace the most!
I’ve been betrayed my whole life, if that wasn’t enough, I was betrayed in every world that I was reincarnated to. Seeing no change in my life, I decided not to believe in anyone.
I distanced myself from everyone, I killed those that tried to come close, even those that might have been there to help me. I didn’t know if what I did was right, I only thought that it was fine as long as I wasn’t hurt.
When I was reincarnated to this world, I had no intention of changing my ways, until I met lord Marda. He was the one who saved me from my endless loop of hatred, he was the one who made me feel I was loved, he was the only one I could call family...
When everyone was gathered outside, I went to the balcony and made my speech. “EVERYONE, I ONLY HAVE ONE THING TO TELL YOU! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH ANY MEMBER OF THE ROYAL FAMILY, DO THAT AND I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF, UNDERSTAND?”
“YES SIR!” Said the soldiers.
“GOOD, THEN LET’S GET STARTED!”
SHIZUKA’S POV
Despite telling Andas about my travel this afternoon, I was forced to stay just for one more day. He bribed me with his best cooking, so I had no choice.
I can’t really sleep, so I went out from the window and climbed to the roof. I looked at the sky, like I usually do at night, and relaxed my body.
If I think about it, I could have went to the information guild on the first day, maybe I’m unconsciously stopping myself from leaving this place. I’m slowly getting used to this world since I have prior experience, but I softened up too much from my time in earth.
I could kill without problem, but there’s still something in my heart searching for a place that I could call home, a person I could call family. Andas is the closest to that right now, so maybe I actually want to stay?
While thinking, a large magic circle appeared on the sky. It emitted lights, comparable to that of the sun. A magic circle of that size could only mean a few things and all points to battle.
I quickly took of my glasses and placed them inside the house. I’m not sure how strong the opponent is, but I’m sure it’s around demi-god class or higher.
The people of the city went out of their house one after another, looking at the sky which was now shinning brightly, including Andas.
I stared at the sky looking for the enemy, and in a split second, not one, not two, but an army came down from the sky.
In just a few moments, the peaceful city became chaotic. Horned humans appeared one after another, killing every human in their sight.
I quickly jumped from the roof to help Andas who was about to get killed by a horned human.
“Andas! Get back to the house and hide!” I said as I slashed the horned human in two.
“Shizuka?” He said while looking surprised.
“There’s no time, just do i-“ An exploding sound came near me, interrupting my speech and as I looked, I saw a horned human, which was obviously different from the others. Sensing the danger, I used identify on reflex.

S-strong, wait, a reincarnator? A demon reincarnator?
“You seem to be the strongest in the whole city, are you perhaps a hero?” Said the horned human.
T-this is dangerous, extremely dangerous. I could easily handle him if I’m at max level or even at level 50, but right now...I’m weaker than him.
“This doesn’t look like the capital, but since this is where the transportation spell sent us, there should be at least one hero and I think that should be you.”
“Claiomh Solais!”
A sword of light appeared and went straight to my hand. It would normally be noisy after being summoned, but it remained silent as it realized the current situation.
“Andas, please run.” I said while getting ready for battle.
