Chapter 12: Reige’s harsh Training
Reige came to Mitchiel’s mansion to help him train. He was asked by Deandre to help Mitchiel train and to get as strong as possible even if it is solely in the basics.
Reige, who is kind and love helping people, agreed.
He arrived early morning before sunrise to train Mitchiel as much as possible, since there was only a month left. Mitchiel was not too bright about the whole idea of getting train by someone.
“Getting trained by the people of this era is similar to getting trained by ten-year-old children in my era. Just what have happened that caused people to become so weak?” thought Mitchiel, underestimating Reige and whatever Reige could possibly teach him.
Unfortunately for Mitchiel, he was in for quite the surprise, since Reige wasn’t like most people.
Since a young age his father instilled a set of training regimen, skills, and discipline that would one day turn his son into an Imperial Guard for the Imperial City.
Reige started Mitchiel’s training regimen by making Mitchiel do continuous dodge practices by dodging all of his attacks. Reige did not go easy in his sparring practice with Mitchiel. Although, he did hold back, he did utilize 75% of his true power.
After witnessing Mitchiel’s expert dodges, he needed to make sure Mitchiel would not get lazy and overconfident, therefore Reige utilized 75% of his power to keep Mitchiel alert. Not too much to accidentally hurt Mitchiel but not too little for Mitchiel to fall asleep either. The just right amount.
On the other hand, Mitchiel was thinking about similar things.
He realized that Reige was not someone that could be taken down easily. No matter how many times he dodged, he could tell Reige wasn’t faze at all, in fact Reige was holding himself back to some extent.
“This type of power-level attacks” thought Mitchiel. “It is the closest techniques I have seen to the people of my era. Not bad, but still, being thirty years old and only having that much power, that is quite sad!”
They continued to practice and practice.
Reige being unable to sap his curiosity about Mitchiel’s limit, no longer held himself back.
He activated his full form and started using his skills to its borderline limit.
Mitchiel, for the first time since the practice match began, felt the pressure of getting pushed back. In the beginning they were evenly matched, but now, Reige had the upper hand.

Reige was waiting for Mitchiel to show his true colors, and Mitchiel knew that.
Mitchiel also could not contain his curiosity. He wanted to see the extent of the most talented individual in Minotaur.
Mitchiel no longer cared whether people would see him as suspicious for having such dodging skills, he decided to dodge each attack, techniques, etc. successfully and show Reige his dodging expertise to the fullest, as well as his gymnastic moves.
Mitchiel would attack Reige whenever he could.
Before they knew it, they were both going out of control and using their most powerful techniques and movements.
At the end of the day, only one person remained standing. That was of course none other than Mitchiel, but only because Reige no longer had the stamina to stand and continue attacking.
Not a single attack pierced or even graze Mitchiel. A few attacks did come close, but none were close enough.
Mitchiel was breathing hard and his whole body was sweaty and tired. If Mitchiel have to face multiple opponents on Reige’s level one after the other, he might indeed lose.
Mitchiel could not accept such a fact.
He promised that he would get first place in the YAMAC and he will achieve it. For the Holy Emperor keep his promises.
Bowing his head down, Mitchiel asked Reige to teach him all the basic Martial Arts attacks he knew, and Reige accepted.
Those two bonded and became close friends throughout their practice match and would talk about all sorts of things.
They became really close.
----------
Finishing his difficult duel with Reige, Mitchiel relaxed himself by taking a hot bath. Afterwards he met with Sylvia, and asked her to take care of something of extreme importance.
“Sylvia-chan, what I am asking you is very important, are you sure you can handle it for me?” asked Mitchiel with a caring voice.
“Yes, but are you sure? What are you going to do if it is what you suspect?” asked Sylvia with a sad voice and some tears falling from her cheek.
“I will take care of it once I am finished with the YAMAC. I cannot let that slide; I cannot let a person walk free from something like this especially when it wasn’t my fault” explained Mitchiel.
“I am scared” said Sylvia. “What you are asking me to do is dangerous, if I get caught it would-“
“Don’t worry Sylvia-chan, you won’t get caught, I believe in you and make sure you stay well-hidden and in your usual routine” explains Michiel as he pat Sylvia’s head. “And besides when this is over, I will bring you shopping with me”

“Shopping with you? No, I cannot do that, Mitchiel-sama” explains Sylvia-chan with a slight stutter.
She wanted to shop but she could not muster the courage of doing it with Mitchiel, since Mitchiel was the son of her boss.
“Don’t worry about it” said Mitchiel, who was trying to ease the bad feeling Sylvia was having from his request. “We’ll have a lot of fun, so just smile and let go of your worries”
“T-thank y-you” said Sylvia as she wipes her tears away and give a bright smile that brought light and bliss to the room.
-----------
After that small but important event, Mitchiel and Reige went on the outskirts of Ryoukai town to train. They later went to a waterfall to do breathing techniques. It was all to get stronger and faster, and for a dodging master, breathing and speed techniques are a must.
But it gets worse for the poor Emperor. His training took an unexpected shift.
Reige told Mitchiel about another way to get stronger. Reige explained that Mitchiel should learn some defensive skills. Mitchiel wasn’t too excited about it, since he has always thought his dodging skills were his defense.
“I never had to use defense before” explained Mitchiel.
“That can’t be true, Mitchiel-kun” responded Reige. “If that was true, then you would have to be able to regenerate through any wound you could possibly have or you would have to be someone who never got hurt by any sort of attacks or martial arts skills. You would have to be a real monster to be that good!!”
“Hahaha” laughed Mitchiel uncomfortably. “You are right; you would need to be able to heal at a really fast rate and be able to dodge any physical attacks”
“Exactly, and that’s why everyone need defensive moves” explained Reige. “And I know a few I could teach you. But it’s not going to be easy to meet all the requirements to use them”
“How tough?” asked Mitchiel in a joking manner.
“It took me one year to reach master-level in those three rare basic martial arts skills. And it was hell” said Reige with a grimace as he remembers the struggles he had to go through to master them. “But there is one upside though, even someone with a broken mantra can learn those three martial defensive skills”
“Oh, really?” asked Mitchiel curiously. “I did not know there were any Martial Arts Skills that a person with a broken mantra could learn”
“Well, that’s because it’s not exactly a skill that requires internal mana control” explained Reige, looking away from Mitchiel. “It’s a defensive skill that strengthen your body and make it as tough as the element used for training, and it also gives you some defense against martial skills attacks”
“You are talking about strengthening my body itself by doing some harsh trainings like punching boulders every day or punching at a mountain, right?” asked Mitchiel, understanding the gist of it.
“Yes” responded Reige. “So, what’s your answer? I never would have mention about those techniques if I didn’t think you could handle it”
“I accept” replied Mitchiel.
"Since it took me a year to master them and we don't have a year till the YAMAC, I am going to have to speed up the training for those Defensive Techniques quite a bit....Don't die on me, Mitchiel. You got this buddy"
"Wait...what? Did you just say 'don't die'?" asked Mitchiel with genuine concern. "How fast will we going about the training?"
Unfortunately for Mitchiel, Reige didn't bother answering. He was already contemplating and calculating how fast and how harsh to make the training to speed things up. Reige was slowly but surely becoming a true evil sensei from hell!!
Ever since Mitchiel replied with yes, his life turned for the worse.
The training that was done after that, focuses only on defense techniques and strengthening the body. Only it wasn’t push-ups he was doing, but training that would make 400 pushups a day look like warm up.
Mitchiel and Reige trained and motivated each other.
They sparred and train non-stop.
They only stop training for five hours a day. That was only to sleep and eat food during those five hours.
Mitchiel would come to regret ever training with Reige.
“Even in my era, was training ever so brutal?” wondered Mitchiel. “I don’t remember it being so difficult, or maybe because my previous body was so talented, that it made it look easy?”
Mitchiel had the worst month he had ever had in his life (also counting from his previous life) and by the time the training was over, the YAMAC was about to start. And a stronger version of both Reige and Mitchiel were about to make their appearances.

8 133A Nerd's Wet Dream Come True (Tossing an OC into Marvel)
John was an average man. At least that's what he tells himself at night. He lived in a rented apartment in the decent district, a well-paying job, and more student debt than he cared to think about being steadily paid off. Yet he was absolutely miserable. He spent his days living like a zombie, a slave in all but name to corporate. His only joy these days it seems was reading comics and writing fanfics. SI ones. Choke full of power fantasies and large harems. Yeah, even he had to admit he was a loser. His only redeeming feature seemed to be his photographic memory and the library's worth of comics and books he has read. Yet, when fate took pity on him and had John transported into the Marvel Universe, he was only all too happy to oblige. A second chance to make something of himself. Is he going to finally have the comfortable life he wanted? Will he laze away relying on his past life's knowledge or does he want more this time? Will his ambition and hard work lead to sweet fruits, or will it rot away in the darkness hiding beneath the colorful costumes of the hero's society? Now with crossovers! Be warned if you don't like to see OCs messing up the timeline or DC and other stuff showing up. I swear I'm not randomly adding stuff and there is a legitimate (as far as comic books and fanfics can be) plot reason why. (I'll be honest, I don't know "cannon" marvel really... I watched some movies and animated series as a kid, but I haven't picked up a comic in years. This is just some light-hearted and casual writing for fun. If there are any errors or something you think would be cool please let me know.) I'm also trying to have multiple main characters so that might be jarring for some people while I switch perspective. Sorry in advance, I'm new at this and idk what I'm doing, advice and feedback gladly welcomed!
