There have been anecdotal reports from silk farmers of animals passed down through successive generations, but until recently, such claims of unusual longevity had never been investigated. Preliminary hematological analysis has now revealed the presence of crude but effective nanites operating in the bloodstreams of at least one herd raised near Pythagoras Tree. As shown here, the autonomous nanoparticles are programmed to identify neoplasms based on elevated nucleolin concentrations. They then organize into self-similar sheets that bind to the tumor surface, interrupting its blood supply. Neutralization of the threat triggers dissolution of the structure and a return to white blood cell emulation. This pilot study raises more questions than it answers and will no doubt be followed by inquiries into the historical context and extent of cyber enhancement on Teegarden's Star b.
