《Supreme Battle Mage》34- To The Dwarven Empire

“Is it really okay?”
Elius asked surprisingly.
“Sure.”
Ian shrugged.
“Besides, Jay will accompany me since Mr. Idarin is coming with you.”
They were in the room Aaron provided for them. Ian was trying to look calm, but inside he was dying. Like the rest of the empire, the Odiria Kingdom was in the recovery process right now. Chase only found his parents’ location. He didn’t know anything about their current situation. There was a chance that they might be dead. Ian didn’t want to think about that. He was constantly trying to push the negative thoughts aside, but he was failing.
‘What if they won’t recognize me?’
‘What will happen even if I show up at their door? What if they won’t see me as their son?’
‘What if…’
“By the way, I will tell them about Namean on our way. We need to start from somewhere before it is too late.”
Elius interrupted Ian’s freaking out process. Ian nodded.
“Good idea, Invite them to the team we’ll be forming after graduation.”
“Yes, I’ll register the group name as Namean and begin to gather people.”
“And… How exactly will you invite them?”
Wilbert was listening to them while lying on his bed.
“Hmm…”
Elius gave it a thought.
“Hello… Want to join us?”
Wilbert sighed.
“Firstly, you are trying to create a community, and people who choose to join will be under your responsibility. Secondly, many people might not want to be under a 17-year-old kid. Soo, good luck.”
“Damn it! This is so much harder than I expected.”
Elius bit his lip.
“I’ll go ask Mr. Idarin when we are leaving.”
“I should do the same.”
Then the kids left. Wilbert was alone now. He closed his eyes and began to enjoy silence. He was expecting to live in peace, but after only five minutes passed, he sighed.
“This is so boring… I hope they quickly return from the Dwarven Empire so that I can begin the process. It only might be possible with Idarin…”
While he was thinking about something, the door of the room opened. A woman entered, dragging something behind. She was Naomi, and Neil was behind her, holding the door, refusing to enter the room.
“That’s enough, you little shit.”
She strengthened herself with mana and forcefully threw Neil into the room.
“Heheey.”
Wilbert pointed toward Neil with a smile.
“We finally met. It was Neil, was it?”
“A-a-a-a.”
Neil stuttered and tried to turn around and leave, but Naomi slapped him.
“Stop exaggerating.”
She held his head and stopped him.
“What is happening?”
Wilbert was confused.
“He has something to tell you.”
“Okay… I’m listening.”
Wilbert looked at Neil in confusion. When their eyes met, Neil flinched and suddenly bowed. He took a deep breath to calm himself down. He stood like that for a while before finally opening his mouth.

“P-please…”
* * *
After a few hours, everyone was ready to leave. Elius was impatiently waiting in excitement at the palace’s gate.
“Where is Neil?”
“He will also stay.”
Nora said. She was also about to leave to rank up with her group. Then she turned towards Ian.
“You know, if you want, I can delay my leave and come with you.”
Ian softly smiled. It was rare for him to smile, at least to Nora.
“Thanks but no need.”
She began to blush after seeing his smile, and she smiled back.
“Okay.”
‘Too bad we have to separate.’
She thought to herself while chuckling.
“Are you ready, kids?!”
Idarin appeared out of nowhere.
“Yes, but I still don’t know why this is so important and this letter… What will I even do with it?”
Ruvyn was still confused about all that, especially being a high elf. Liam wasn’t looking good either, he was thoughtful for days. After Idarin, everyone also came to send them off.
“Excited?”
Wilbert asked Elius.
“Hell yeah.”
He said with sparkling eyes and turned towards Neil.
“Why are you not coming?”
Neil stared at Elius with a stupid smile.
“What are you smiling for?”
“I’ll train him.”
Wilbert answered in Neil’s stead.
“Aaah.”
Elius and Ian gave a pitiful look at Neil. The smile on Neil’s face disappeared after seeing their look.
“W-what?”
Since Elius kept telling them that his father had trained them, Neil understood something was wrong.
“Oh, that reminds me, Aaron. Let’s talk about the monthly fee later.”
Wilbert winked at him.
“What?! You bastard...”
‘Fee…’
Elius suddenly realized something, at the same time as Liam. They gave each other a look.
‘Damn, we completely forgot about the four gold.’
Liam was about to say it out loud but held himself at the last minute. They understood each other as soon as their eyes met.
“Fee… Hey, didn’t we have-”
Liam suddenly closed Ruvyn’s mouth with his hand and began to drag him outside.
“Okay, everyone, see you later!”
Then he waved to everyone and went into the cart with Ruvyn.
“We should also go.”
Jay said to Ian. Ian was still not sure if he was ready or not.
“Yes, let’s go.”
Everyone said goodbye and went their own way. Group was divided into three. One of them went to see his parents for the first time after 15 years, two of them stayed there to train, and the others went to another empire.
‘Elly, what are you doing?’
“The things I can do are very limited, you know.”
‘True.’
“Maybe you want to help. You put all the work on me.”
‘Come on, don’t exaggerate. I only told you to analyze my staff, the energy in my mana core, work on the last two elements to take them to the next stage, work on reading the mana flow and materialize the mana.’

Elius stopped for a while.
‘Hmm, maybe I should.’
“By the way, I don’t know why but I can’t analyze the thing inside your mana core any further. There is something weird. That thing you called chakra is nothing like mana. Even the inner fighters gather the mana inside of their mana core from the world. But this thing is coming from inside of your body.”
‘Wow…’
“I suggest you learn about this more. I’m pretty curious.”
‘Yeah, let’s take a look at Julius’ book again.’
Elius took out the book without thinking and began to pour mana into it.
‘Let’s see if we have anything good.’
He started flipping the pages.
“Hmm?”
Idarin raised an eyebrow.
“What is that?”
Elius panicked. Until then, he hadn’t told anyone about the grimoire.
“Umm, hehe”
He weirdly smiled and scratched his head.
“Wait, you have a grimoire at this age?”
“Not exactly.”
“Let me see.”
Idarin quickly snatched the book from Elius’ hand, but it immediately closed. Idarin tried to open it, but he failed.
“What?”
He poured some mana into it, but again, nothing happened.
‘This is a really high-level spell.’
“Hey, where did you get this?”
Idarin asked while returning the book to Elius.
“Let’s say someone gave it to me.”
“Oookay.”
Idarin gave a suspicious look to Elius.
“By the way, what’s up with that bandages?”
“Let’s say someone gave it to me.”
Elius repeated.
“Yeah, and what’s up with that black staff of yours?”
Liam asked this time. Then Ruvyn put up an expression like he realized something.
“Yeah, and why are you spacing out sometimes?”
‘Should I tell them about Julius?’
“It is up to you.”
‘I wonder if Mr. Idarin knows who Julius is.’
“Julius seems to be laying low. he has complex and high-level spells, but the books I’ve read so far had no information about him or Arkhaar, unlike the other strong figures.”
‘Hmm. I mean, he traveled with my father for a long time. So I guess I can trust him.’
“See, again, why are you spacing out? You are one weird dude.”
Elius came back to reality after Ruvyn said that.
“Nothing, nothing. I’m just thinking a lot.”
Elius shook his hand in front of his face.
“By the way… What do you plan to do after graduating?”
“We plan to do what every adventurer does.”
Liam said like it was so obvious.
“Which is…?”
Idarin sighed and shook his head in desperation.
“Form a team, do missions, become strong, rank up, discover new places, create new spells, and so forth. It is pretty standard. It’s getting kind of boring, to be honest.”
“No, yeah, I know that. I meant besides that, a purpose or something. Something you want to accomplish.”
“Oh that, I’ll end slavery, plus racism, plus… Things like that.”
Ruvyn said with a determined expression.
“Yes, that. Plus, I’ll become strong as hell.”
Liam added.
“Soo… Have you ever thought about joining a clan or something?”
Ruvyn and Liam thought for a while.
“Actually… I never thought about it. I always thought it would be just Liam and me.”
Ruvyn shook his head.
“Yeah… You know, actually, it would be nice to form a tribe.”
Liam said and turned towards Ruvyn.
“We can form a tribe like the one we came from, helping people and uniting different races.”
After hearing that, Ruvyn nodded.
“Yeah! It doesn’t cost anything to do that.”
“Huhuhu.”
Elius began to laugh.
“What are you laughing for?”
At first, Liam thought it was a mocking laugh. But after seeing Elius’ expression, it was more like a laugh of relief.
“Helping people, uniting races. That is all sounds familiar.”
Elius laughed again.
“I have a proposal for you, but first…”
He turned towards Idarin and put out a paper.
“4 gold, please!”
“Oh yeah, you fuckers. You didn’t mention it about that back at the palace on purpose.”
“Ah, come on, two of them are staying in a palace right now, so they don’t need any money, we are the ones going on a journey, so we are the one who needs it most.”
Liam said, trying to convince Ruvyn.
“And what about Ian? Technically he is the one completing the mission, not us.”
Liam tried to find an excuse for that.
“Ian is… Oh! He found the most valuable treasure, his family.”
Ruvyn rolled his eyes while Liam was putting up a victorious smile.
“You sly kids, normally I’m not the one you should take the money from, it is the adventurer’s guild, but I’ll make an exception this time. So I’ll give one gold per each to distribute it equally.”
“Nice! What was your proposal?”
Liam asked Elius.
“Oh yeah, that.”
Elius turned toward Idarin again.
“Maybe you can help, Mr. Idarin. Do you know anything about Namean Dynasty?”
Idarin smiled.
“Well, well.”

MMORPGs were once the top of everybody's list, adventure, combat, storytelling and endless grind in one single game. It was a different life for most, as if a parallel world to our own. You could be a knight indulging yourself in combat, a mage expertly crafting spells of mass destruction or creation. A ranger exploring the land and hunting down prey, an assassin completing contracts and hording the spoils. A troll scamming children out of their hard earned 10 gold and making more hardcore players rage quit for the day. Or something else. Kyle was a simple player, he always picked the strangest classes or jobs and his characters almost looked the same. He played for the combat, he played for the grind and he played for his guild but above all he played for the story. Kyle is a roleplayer, one who enjoys the simple parts of this virtual life. Whether his guild was starting a war or ending one he'd always have his drammatic entrence or exit, his decleration of annihalition or demand of surrender. After all that? He divulged himself in the game's story, the interaction with NPCS (Non Player Characters) and their advanced AI. He went through many questlines, many tales of heroics and many more adventurers of legend but one thing always remained true with his character. Kyle absolutely loved to the play the villain.
